From our Website Coordinator If you haven t checked it out, please do.

Hello Funseeker's, It was great to see another strong field of members at the Castle Oaks Tournament last Saturday. For the first two tournaments for 2015 the number of players is up 40% versus last year. We even added a new member at the last tournament so it's great to see more members each time. The weather was absolutely perfect Saturday, and the course was in great shape as well so it made for a great day on the links. It was nice to see so many members stick around for the award ceremony following the event. I hope more of you hang can out after the tournament in the future. In this issue, pay particular attention to the Funseeker's CUP Standings as it is very interesting how the standings quickly change based on the tournament results. Consistent play is rewarded with an ongoing move higher in the standings. The good news is using this format, everyone has an opportunity to get on the board and ultimately, the champion for each flight will be the member that turned in the most consistent play over the course of the year. I was thinking about an added wrinkle to the format for this year: What if, in the last two tournaments for the year, we added some extra points to those tournaments? Consider this: The Ridge on October 3rd and Turkey Creek on October 24 th ; we add extra points for a win on these courses as they are both pretty tough. Example: 1st place 10 points, 2nd place 7 points, and third place 5 points. This would add some bonus points for winning two tough courses, as well as put more emphasis on playing in the last two events of the year. Let me know what you think, as I was just playing with the idea. As a reminder, to win your flight you must play in at least eight tournaments. I hope to see everyone at our next Tournament, April 11th, at Timber Creek. Some sad news for one of our members came our way the last several days Ron Oxyer's brother passed away and Ron is in Michigan to be with his family during this difficult time. Ron, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers for your loss. Joe Manos (in Ron s absence)

!! Around the Course - Tournament Happenings By Joe Manos I wanted to provide our membership a couple of quick reminders for upcoming Tournaments, some member feedback from the Castle Oaks Tournament, as well as an update on the current standings of the Funseeker's CUP. Course Conduct There have been some member complaints regarding on-course conduct. For example, if you are rolling up on another foursome on the course or tee box, please keep your voices and conversation to a whisper. I received several complaints from several members regarding loud conversations while folks are teeing off, or worse yet, putting on a nearby green. Four-Man Qualifier The Four-Man Qualifier for 2015 will be held the Timber Creek Tournament on April 11th. The Four Man team from the Funseeker's will participate in the local qualifying round on either June 18th or 25th. If you know in advance that you won't be available due to work or vacation plans, please let me know so if you qualify, we don't list you as part of the team knowing you won't be available to play. Thank you. Funseeker's CUP Standings After our second round, we have a growing list of members competing for the Champion CUP for their flight. It's going to be a lot of fun watching the standings evolve with the results of each tournament. A quick reminder to all members: in order to be in the running for Club Champion for your flight, you must play in 70% of all tournaments (not including the November Turkey Shoot Out). Basically, that s eight tournaments, so keep that in mind as we move through the season. What I like about this format is consistent play is rewarded. Our #1 leader for the B Flight hasn't won a tournament yet, but finished second in two tournaments and is the "current" leader of the flight. The other question you might have after viewing the standings is why do we have a point value like 2.66? That's a result of three members ending in a tie for second and splitting the value of the total points for both second and third place between three players. Let's take a look at how the flights stack up after the Castle Oaks Tournament:

A Flight B Flight Mike Long 7 Points Alan Withers 7.66 Points Brad Erway 7 Points Bernie Necker 7 Points Joe Manos 4 Points Ernie Brooker 7 Points Bob Vela 4 Points Dick Lohmeyer 3 Points Sean Galyean 4 points Jay Watson 2.66 Points Kevin Spitler 4 Points Tom Grudem 2.66 Points Ladies Flight Linda Vela Tracey Spitler Michelle Trotter Brenda Kontos 10 Points 7 Points 6 Points 4 Points If you have any questions in any area concerning Tournament play, or suggestions to enhance our Tournaments, email me or call me at 916-284-8112.
