On the first turn, SEB ZARR MOONIE (1) checked off the back of RUNNING PLUNDER (3) and raced wide, colliding heavily with MIGHTY TEGAN (6) losing valuable ground. STATION PIX (1), MELLENIA JO JO (2), GALWAY GAL (4) and NILE QUEEN (7) came together on the first turn, worst affected were STATION PIX (1), GALWAY GAL (4) and NILE QUEEN (7). Shortly after, ROYAL TEMPTRESS (6) and NILE QUEEN (7) collided. GALWAY GAL (4) shifted out and marred BLAZIN LOGIE (3), entering the home straight on the final occasion. Connections of GALWAY GAL (4) were questioned regarding the greyhounds actions entering the home straight. Connections explained it was the greyhound s first start at the track and felt the interference on the first turn may have attributed to the GALWAY GAL (4) actions. After making observations and viewing the race footage, stewards were comfortably satisfied that GALWAY GAL (4) had marred BLAZIN LOGIE (3) outwardly entering the home straight. Subsequently, GALWAY GAL (4) has been disqualified from racing at Wentworth Park for 28 days for marring, under GAR rule 69 (1) (a).the greyhound must now perform a satisfactory trial with two other greyhounds before it can be re-nominated. Michael Hodges, the trainer of OH SO NICE (2), was questioned regarding the greyhound losing ground from shortly after the start, before finishing a distant last. Mr Hodges could offer no excuses for the greyhound s performance. After making observations and viewing the race footage, stewards felt that the greyhound had failed to purse the lure with due commitment. Subsequently, OH SO NICE (2) was stood down from competing at Wentworth Park for 28 days under GAR 69 (2) (a), for failing to purse the lure, and the greyhound must complete one satisfactory trial with two others before returning to licensed race meetings.
