80 BC HOCKEY TIERING CLASSIFICATION STRUCTURE At the BC Hockey AGM in June 2008, the membership passed a motion changing the manner in which competitive hockey within the province is classified. There are no longer the AAA, AA, A associations. This has been replaced by Tiers. Below you will see the MHAs within VIAHA and where they are tiered as well as the criteria. IE: for those MHAs that have a three year average of 300+ players in the Pee Wee Bantam and Midget divisions they are now considered Tier 1 Associations. The other big change is that there are no longer B teams, MHAs second team is now considered to be classified in the next tier under that of which the MHA is classified.
