North Atlantic Regional Championships Non-Qualifying Events October 3 & 4, 2013 GENERAL INFORMATION The 2014 North Atlantic Regional Figure Skating Championships - Non- Qualifying Events will be held October 3-4, 2013 at the Olympic Center located at 2634 Main Street, Lake Placid, N.Y. The championships are sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating and hosted by the SC of Lake Placid and the NYS Olympic Regional Development Authority. The entry deadline for the 2014 North Atlantic Regional Figure Skating Championships - Non-Qualifying Events is 11:59p.m. EST, September 1, 2013. All entries must be submitted online. A link will be provided at www.lakeplacidskating.com/events/northatlantics14.php For additional information, check out the competition website at the following link: www.lakeplacidskating.com/events/northatlantics14.php After the close of entries, September 1, 2013, there will be absolutely no entry fee refunds, unless an event is canceled. Refunds will only be given for practice ice, pre-purchased pins and programs, pre-ordered admission tickets and extra credentials for documented medical reason of the skater. Requests for refunds must be in writing with doctor s note attached and e- mailed to skating@orda.org by October 10, 2013. Any refund requests submitted after this date will not be considered. ARENA INFORMATION Olympic Center 2634 Main Street Lake Placid, N.Y. 12946 518.523.1655 www.lakeplacidskating.com www.whitefacelakeplacid.com The Olympic Center houses three rinks: 1980 Rink - Herb Brooks Arena: 100 x 200 1932 Rink - Jack Shea Arena: 100 x 200 USA Rink (practice only): 85 x 200 A cafeteria is located on site as well as concession stands in the competition rinks. Limited parking is available in the parking lot behind the arena, however, the Lake Placid Municipal Parking Lot is located next to the Olympic Center with plenty of parking.

ELIGIBILITY Skaters may enter all events for which they are qualified. Skaters competing in the qualifying events at the 2014 North Atlantic Regional Championship may NOT enter any test track events, but may participate in showcase, solo dance and moves in the field. A skater may compete at their current test level and/or one level up, but may not skate down. Test level is as of September 1, 2013. RULES The competition will be conducted according to the rules of U.S. Figure Skating as set forth in the 2013-2014 U.S. Figure Skating rulebook. REGISTRATION The registration desk will be located on the main level of the arena just outside the main doors of the 1980 Rink. It will be open on Wednesday, October 2nd from 5pm-9pm. On competition days (October 3rd & 4th) it will be open 1 hour prior to the first competitive event and close at the conclusion of the last competitive event. All skaters are expected to be in the arena one hour prior to the start of their scheduled event. MUSIC The only acceptable form of music will be CDs with only ONE track. The CD should be clearly labeled with the skater s name and event. Skaters should turn in one copy per event and it is their responsibility to have a back up copy rinkside during the competition should it be necessary. Due to compatibility and reliability reasons, please do not submit re-recordable CD-RW discs. BULLETIN AND NOTICES The official bulletin board will be located at the registration desk. The official schedule of events will be posted on the official bulletin board and will supersede all other schedules. It is the responsibility of each participating team to check the official bulletin board for all official information. Notices posted here are considered sufficient notice to all teams. All teams must check the official board frequently. AWARDS Medals will be presented to athletes in first through third place in each event. Awards will be presented at times designated on the official bulletin board.

ADMISSION Daily Admission: All Event Tickets $10 Adults $7 Juniors/Seniors (ages 7-12, 65+) $30 Adults $18 Juniors/Seniors (ages 7-12, 65+) Tickets will be needed for competition days ONLY. They may be purchased on site at the door or the Box Office. CREDENTIALS Each athlete will receive complimentary credentials for 1 chaperone and 1 designated approved coach. The credentials are marked with the individual s name and are non-transferable. You must have credentials to enter the 1980 and 1932 Rinks, the warm-up area and the locker rooms. At the time of registration, AFTER competition music has been turned in, each competitor will receive their credential badges for themselves and their chaperone(s). The competitor s coach will pick up their credential badge separately at check-in. A photo ID must be shown by all chaperones and coaches when the credential is picked up. BADGES are non-transferable! Badges must be worn at all times while in the 1980 & 1932 Rinks. Any lost badges will be replaced for an additional charge of $30 per badge. PHOTOGRAPHY Action photos as well as still awards photos will be available for purchase at the event. Miracle Moments photography will be located on the mezzanine of the 1980 Rink. Please note: Flash photography of the competition, including practice ice, is strictly prohibited per U.S. Figure Skating policy. VIDEOGRAPHY EVC is the official videographer for this competition. Please note: videotaping of the competition, including practice ice, in any form is strictly prohibited per U.S. Figure Skating policy. PROGRAM INFORMATION If you would you like your photo in the event souvenir program, email a photo to skating@orda.org, no later than September 1, 2013. Photos should be a yearbook style headshot in JPEG or PNG format with a pixel resolution of at least 600 x400 pixels. Detailed instructions with a link to the email address will be available on the event website www.lakeplacidskating.com/events/northatlantics14.php. Photographs and media forms will be used for the program and publicity of the event. Submission

of a competition entry automatically grants permission to use all accompanying information, including photographs, for publicizing these Championships. Programs can be purchased at the cost of $15 per program. It is in your best interest to pre-purchase your program, as there will be a limited availability at the event. Programs will be available for pre-purchase on the online entry form. MERCHANDISE Event merchandise will be available for purchase at the arena as well as online prior to the event. The moves may be skated in any order. Music may be vocal or instrumental. Skaters must wear all black. This will be judged on the 6.0 system. Skaters receive two marks. The technical mark will be based on the focuses of the specified moves. Difficulty of transitional elements will not be rewarded in the technical mark. The presentation mark will be based on carriage, projection, style, ice coverage, phrasing of movements to music and creativity of transitional elements. Please note that the time duration is maximum time no deduction will be given for being under the specified time.
