Championship Futurity Tour 2014 Rules and Regulations Championship Futurity Tour ( CFT ) is owned, sanctioned and managed by Championship Bull Riding, Inc. ( CBR ) in cooperation with Breeders Bull Games, Inc. ( BBG ) with each being the League Manager of their respective leagues, the CBR League and the BBG League. The League Manager has the power to rule on all aspects of the CFT, including but not limited to, League business, competition, infractions of these rules and disputes among franchise owners. The League Manager will investigate all disputes, controversies and complaints and has the right, power and authority to administer monetary fines, to disqualify owners or remove them from the CFT competition if deemed necessary. The decisions of the League Manager shall be final and irreversible. The League Manager has the right to make any necessary changes to the CFT rules and regulations as the CFT progresses. Any changes will be properly posted on the CBR website. Rules of Conduct a. Event participants shall at all times be expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the values, objectives and positive image of the CBR and CFT. b. All Event participants present on the grounds of a CFT event during event hours are subject to the jurisdiction of the CFT Rules and Policies. c. The act of participation in a CFT event as a competitor signifies the acknowledgement and understanding of the CFT Rules and Regulations and the express agreement by the Event participant to abide by the Rules and Regulations as set forth herein. d. All Event participants acknowledge and agree through their entry to and participation in a CFT Event that their participation is a privilege and not a right. e. In addition, CFT maintains jurisdiction over misconduct that may occur off the grounds of the Event or outside Event hours, provided that the misconduct is reasonably and directly related to the Event. f. This section shall be interpreted as broadly as is necessary to regulate such off grounds misconduct as social media abuse, abuse of motel rooms by persons attending the event and / or abuse of a bull entered in the Event, including but not limited to, any action or activity that is perceived or deemed by CBR detrimental to CFT. Rights, Responsibilities and Authority a. CFT reserves the right and privilege to determine all manners in which its Events shall be conducted including the entitlement, right and authority to constitute and enforce the CFT Rules and Regulations as well as impose penalties and sanctions on Event participants, which demonstrate conduct that is deemed contrary to the best interests of CFT. b. CFT reserves the right to deny registration or participation to any person(s) or organization(s) CFT believes, in its opinion, will not promote the best interests of CFT. c. CFT reserves the rights to have Event Managers make discretionary decisions regarding rules and procedures at events. CFT 2014 RULES AND REGULATIONS Page 1
Indemnification: Event participants hereby agree to indemnify, defend, and hold CFT and its affiliates, and all of the foregoing entities' respective officers, directors, owners, employees, agents, representatives and assigns (collectively, the "Indemnified Parties") harmless from and against any and all losses, damages, liabilities and costs (including settlement costs and any legal or other fees and expenses for investigating or defending any actions or threatened actions) incurred by the Indemnified Parties in connection with any claim arising out of any breach by Event participants of these CFT Rules and regulations or claims arising from any participation in a CFT Event. Limitation of Liability a. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, SHALL CFT OR ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE TO ANY EVENT PARTICIPANT OR ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, PERSONAL INJURY (INCLUDING DEATH) AND PROPERTY DAMAGE OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER, THAT RESULT FROM THE PARTICIPATION IN ANY CFT EVENT, EVEN IF CFT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. b. IN NO EVENT SHALL CFT TOTAL LIABILITY TO AN EVENT PARTICIPANT FOR ALL DAMAGES, LOSSES AND CAUSES OF ACTION WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY THE EVENT PARTICIPANT, IF ANY, OR $100 (WHICHEVER IS LESS). c. MOREOVER, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL CFT OR ITS AFFILIATES, OR ANY OF THE FOREGOING ENTITIES BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DELAY OR FAILURE IN PERFORMANCE RESULTING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY FROM AN ACT OF FORCE MAJEURE OR CAUSES BEYOND ITS REASONABLE CONTROL. Termination of Participation: CFT MAY TERMINATE THE FURTHER PARTICIPATION OF ANY EVENT PARTICIPANT OR CHANGE THE RULES AND REGULATIONS IN ANY WAY, AT ANY TIME AND FOR ANY REASON OR NO REASON. Governing Law: Any disputes between an Event Participant and CFT regarding these CFT Rules and Regulations shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas without giving effect to its conflict of law principles and the Event Participant hereby consents to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the Texas state courts in the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas and United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division. 1. FRANCHISE OWNERSHIP DUES a. Each League (CBR & Breeders Bull Games) consists of a minimum of 20 Franchise Teams. b. Yearly sustaining Franchise fee = Twenty-Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500) per year Due by November 1st. c. If not paid by said date a Five Hundred Dollar ($500) late fee will be applied to the sustaining fee. 2. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS a. Bulls competing in Championship Futurity Tour futurity events are not required to be registered. CFT 2014 RULES AND REGULATIONS Page 2
b. Eligible Futurity bulls must be born between January 1 and December 31, two years prior to the year of competition. c. Each team will consist of three (3) bulls. 3. IDENTIFICATION a. Bulls must be fire or freeze branded permanently with a permanent identification number and all brands must be readable. b. CBR reserves the right to disqualify any bull entered due to discrepancies in identifying bull or bulls in competition. 4. AGE VERIFICATION a. Bulls that are registered and/or age verified through Rodeo Genetics, UBBI, ABBI or NBBA will be accepted for CFT competition. b. In the event bulls are not registered or age verified can be made Age Eligible by a Veterinarian prior to competition, by a licensed vet certification that the bull meets the proper age requirements per the approved mouth chart. (L. Man Cropsey, DVM Golden, Colorado) c. CBR will reserve the right to age verify and/or disqualify any bull participating at a produced, sanctioned or co- sanctioned futurity event. 5. ENTRIES a. All entries will be taken through the CBR office in Fort Worth. b. Entries will open on Monday, four weeks prior to event date and entries will close on Monday, two weeks prior to event date, unless otherwise posted in Event Details. c. All entries and mailed payments MUST be in CBR office by 5:00 pm (CST) on the day of entry closing. d. Entries will NOT be accepted without payment and will not be considered entered until paid. e. Late entries will be assessed a Three Hundred Dollar ($300) late fee penalty. 6. ENTRY FEES a. Entry fees will be Twenty-Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500) per team. b. The Finals entry fee will be Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) per team. 7. ENTRY POSITIONS a. Each event will consist of a minimum of 20 teams from either the CBR Division, or the Breeders Bull Games Division. b. The top 30 teams (15 from each division) will qualify for the finals. c. Each qualifying team will be required to attend the finals. 8. PAYOUT a. Event payout will be 75% of total purse based on a full field of entries. b. Payout will be based on one (1) position paid for every four (4) entries, unless indicated otherwise before the event. c. Event Champion will receive a minimum $20,000.00 (based on the minimum field 20 teams of 3 bulls per team). 9. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS a. Bulls competing at CBR sanctioned or co-sanctioned events will be required to CFT 2014 RULES AND REGULATIONS Page 3
have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection with results of a negative TB test and a negative Brucellosis test (within 12 months), unless otherwise posted in Event Details. b. A 30 day Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health papers) with these test results must be presented at check-in. c. Additional requirements for individual states may differ, check with your state licensed Veterinarian to confirm any additional requirements. d. CBR may request additional testing. e. Special Ground Rules regarding Health Requirements may apply to specific events and will be posted in Event Details. 10. HORNS a. All competing Futurity bulls must have their horns tipped to the size of a 25 cent piece prior to arriving at check in for the event (broken or loose horns are excluded from this rule). b. At the discretion of a judge or event official, if an un-tipped or inadequately tipped animal arrives at a CBR sanctioned or co-sanctioned futurity, the bull MUST be tipped, prior to competition and may be subject to a fine. c. Bulls will NOT be tipped on-site at event location. d. Failure to comply may result in forfeit or loss of any and or all entry fees and related expenses to the owner. 11. DUMMIES - The official dummy of the CBR is the CC Stealth. 12. COMPETITION FORMAT a. At CBR sanctioned futurities, bulls will be bucked, with a dummy for five (5) seconds. b. Team will consist of three (3) bulls. c. All three (3) scores will be entered into the system and will be added together to determine the total TEAM score. d. Order of finish will be determined by total Team Score. e. All team bulls must pen together. f. Additional pen space will be available if needed to house bulls individually at an additional cost of One Thousand Dollars ($1000) per bull. g. A separate individual bull competition with an optional Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per bull entry fee will be offered. h. Payback will be 75% of total purse and one (1) position for every four (4) bulls entered. i. Finals will have the same format offered at One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) per bull entered. 13. JUDGING GUIDELINES a. CBR sanctioned or co-sanctioned events will use four (4) judges, unless stated otherwise in the Event Ground Rules. b. Bulls will be scored 1 25 (using ¼ point system) points considering their ability in five categories: Buck, Kick, Spin, Degree of Difficulty, and Intensity. c. There will be no re-bucks for any reason. 14. ELECTRICAL DEVICES & FOREIGN OBJECTS: a. Any and all electrical devices used to stimulate the animal are not permitted CFT 2014 RULES AND REGULATIONS Page 4
for use inside the bucking chute. b. Foreign objects in flank will not be allowed or tolerated. c. Any owner not adhering to this rule is subject to disqualification of the animal involved in the particular incident, and/or total disqualification from the competition in its entirety and forfeiture of any and all entry fees. d. In addition, failure to adhere to this rule could result in suspension and / or fine of member and / or animal. 15. BUCK ORDER/CHUTE POSITION a. Buck Order will be determined by random draw. b. After random draw, bulls will be grouped by like ownership. c. Delivery changes must be made on FRIDAY, one week prior to event. 16. TIE BREAKERS a. There will be no tie breakers at CBR sanctioned futurities. b. Ties will be paid as straight splits. 17. WITHDRAWAL a. Prior to entries closing a bull may be withdrawn without penalty or forfeit of entry fees. b. After entry closing, owners may withdraw animals from competition with a vet release, and replace withdrawn bull with a bull of like ownership. 18. PERSONNEL a. Gate men, arena help and production labor will be provided by CBR. b. Only these designated individuals will be permitted to conduct their specific tasks. 19. ARRIVAL / CHECK-IN a. Check-in times will be event specific. b. Contact the event producer to make arrangements for early arrival outside designated check-in times. c. Late arrivals will be subject to a Two Hundred Dollar ($200) late arrival penalty. 20. TESTING & ADMINISTERING MEDICATION a. Any substance deemed illegal for bovine use by local, state or federal law are strictly forbidden at CBR events. b. CBR reserves the right to test participating bulls for any reason. c. Biological samples may be collected including blood, tissue and / or fluids, from any bull or bulls for any reason. d. If A Franchise Owner suspects another Owner of using a substance deemed illegal for bovine, Challenge participant must put up One Thousand Dollars ($1000) to challenge the said bull to be tested for illegal substances. e. No challenges will be accepted after the event payout (typically within 15 minutes of the completion of the event). f. All event checks will be held until the challenge has been resolved. g. Within 24 hour, the said participant whose bull has been challenged will be required to have the bulls tested by a licensed Veterinarian with CBR management present. h. If the bull tests negative for illegal substance, the challenging participant forfeits CFT 2014 RULES AND REGULATIONS Page 5
the One Thousand Dollars ($1000) to the participant whose bull was tested. i. If the bull tests positive for illegal substance the participant with the illegal bull will pay the veterinarian and testing bills, forfeit any winning, and may be required to forfeit the franchise ownership. j. CBR also reserves the right to levy a fine at their discretion. k. The challenge participant will be refunded the One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) challenge fee in the event the bulls in question are disqualified. 21. AGE CHALLENGE PROCESS a. Event participants only may challenge the age eligibility of any other participant s bull(s) at a CFT event. b. Any challenge must be registered with an event judge or CBR management immediately. c. No challenges will be accepted after the event payout (typically within 15 minutes of the completion of the event). d. All event checks will be held until the challenge has been resolved. e. The cost of the challenge is One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) per bull. f. Within 48 hours, the participant whose bull(s) has been challenged will be required to have the bull(s) age verified at a licensed veterinarian with CBR management present. g. If the bull(s) is verified to be of the proper age, the participant who challenged will forfeit the One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) to the participant whose bull was challenged. h. If the bull does not meet the proper age requirements, the participant with the illegal bull will, pay the veterinarian s bill, forfeit any winning, and may be required to forfeit the ownership of the franchise. CBR also reserves the right to levy a fine at their discretion. i. The challenge participant shall be refunded the One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) challenge fee in the event the bull in question is disqualified. 22. RULE CHANGES & DELETIONS CFT reserves the right to alter, amend, revise, or otherwise change any term, condition or provision of the CFT 2014 Rules and Regulations in its sole discretion at any time.
