Earlean Wagner and Bill & Jackie Brown represented the Twirlers at the Thunderbirds Anniversary dance on June 17th. Hopefully we ll see more of you at our visitations in July Remember, if the Clubs see we are coming to their dances, they ll come to ours. VISITATION POT: Mark Cordell s name was drawn from the Visitation Pot. He didn t qualify to win so another $5 was added to the visitation pot. The pot now has $20. Will you be a winner? PRESIDENTS MESAGE: BOARD MEETING BRIEFS: This month, Bill and I will be stepping down as the Twirler s Club Presidents. We want to thank all of you for all the help and support you have given us. Without you, the Club would not have survived. A very special thanks to our fellow Board members, current and past I really did try to end the Board meetings on time. The Twirler Board met on June 14th The following things were discussed: The past three years brought many challenges for the Club which resulted in the extremely difficult decision to leave our beautiful Canyon Lake venue our home for 43 years. The challenges are not over and I hope you will continue to support the Club and help it to be successful and grow in it s new home. We will be leaving the Club in the very capable hands of Earlean Wagner and David Franks. We hope you will give them your help. The Club needs all of it s members to participate. Even if you don t dance, you can be involved. FUNDRAISING: A SUCCESSFUL YARD SALE The Twirler treasury is $674.00 richer after our yard sale on June 24th. A big thank you to everyone who contributed all the wonderful things we had for sale. We still have many good things left and are planning to have another yard sale in the future somewhere in the Menifee/Sun City area. Many, many thanks to Muriel Greenwood, Earlean Wagner, Dale Houser, Susie King who came on Thursday to help the Browns unpack, organize and price everything. They worked so hard that we had everything ready for the sale before lunch time! We are still waiting for our application to become a City of Menifee class at the Kay Ceniceros Center to be accepted. Once this occurs, we will be able to hold classes in the large room and will not have to pay room rent. The license Vic needs has not yet been issued by the city and is causing the delay. Applications by Valerie & Mike Perkins and David & Merrie Ann Franks to become members of the Twirlers were presented to the Board and accepted. They will be issued temporary Club badges until we have our new Twirler Badges. Because of the move and name change, the Club will need to have new badges. It was decided to look at other club badges for ideas and ask Club members for design ideas. Jerry Ferguson is looking into what legal issues need to be addressed regarding the Club Charter, taxes and our our nonprofit status if we change our name. It was decided that, if possible, we will start our new class the second Tuesday in September. As a K.C. Center class we will not be able to offer the first night for free. We will have a Plus class combined with our Workshop from 6:30 7:15 and the Beginner class from 7:15 8:45. CLASS NOTES And many, many thanks to Chris Burns, David Franks, Tom & Kristine Hoffman, Richard & Michele Knowles and Valerie and Mike Perkins who came on Saturday to help the Browns answer questions and sell things. Earlean Wagner returned Saturday for a second day of work. You can tell by the total what a good job they did. We are very proud of our class members. They are progressing well and have completed the basic calls. To celebrate, on Tuesday, June 27th, we held a dance party. It was a chance for the class to review the basic calls while experiencing the typical dance format with tips that contained patter and singing calls. Special thanks go out to Sue Miranda and Michele Polley who were there both days with their expertise and help with pricing in addition to helping set up. I don t know how we could have done it without you! Because we did not meet the deadline, our July and August class will continue to be held in the smaller room at the K.C. Center and class members can continue to pay each week that they attend. We will be having a fundraiser at Richie's Diner in July. Watch for details. We were sad to say good bye to Dan Wescott. He is moving to Missouri to be with his family. ATTENTION CREATIVE PEOPLE -With the move and the name change, a new Club badge is needed. The Board is looking for design ideas and we want you to be involved. We know we hav a lot of creative people associated with the Club. Have an idea? Talk to a Board member. Make a sketch. Take a picture. Turn it in to the Board. Don t delay it would be nice to have new badges by September. CELEBRATING THEIR 68th! On June 24th Joe and Vi Henderson celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary. In honor of this special occasion Angels and Class members celebrated with cake and ice cream at our Tuesday Workshop and wished the couple many more happy years together. WELCOME BACK: There were some familiar faces we hadn t seen in a long time at a couple of the workshops in June. It was great to see Melinda Townsend and Penny Hayhurst out dancing with us again. Welcome back to the Club! We missed you. TAKE US OUT TO THE 2nd ANNUAL STORM GAME It was a nice night to see a baseball game. Twirlers Anita Pederson and her mother Anna Gorham, Mjuriel Greenwood, Dale Houser, Earlean Wagner and Bill & Jackie Brown joined members of the Cowtown Singles to watch the Elsinore Storm play the Inland Empire 66ers on June 30th. The game started with plenty of action and the Storm led until the 8th when the 66ers had a 5 run inning to win the game 9 6.

WE WON THE TROPHY FOR "THE MOST PATRIOTIC" ENTRY in the Menifee Independence Day Parade on July 1st. Back row: Earlean Wagner, Valerie Perkins, Al Pitchard, Mike Perkins, Lisa Evans, Reagan Hart, driver Dave, Ron Morris, Merrie Ann & David Franks, Jackie & Bill Brown; Front row: Chris Burns, Bill (holding trophy) & Janet Hunt, Caller Bob & Carole Stoops, & Pattie Garner & Jerry Ferguson from CCHA!
