Theme 1: Personal development: physical literacy, mental health and well-being, social responsibility Keynote Speaker Ana Miragaya (Brasile) Dr. Ana Miragaya is a researcher and professor of physical education at Universidade Estácio de Sá, Petrópolis, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is also a member of the Selection Committee of the International Olympic Committee s Olympic Studies Center, member of the Brazilian Pierre de Coubertin Committee, of the Brazilian Olympic Academy and of the Research Group on Olympic Studies of Rio de Janeiro State University. Her main research interests are subjects and themes related to physical activities and sports, and the various areas related to Olympic Studies, especially Olympic Education and values. Dr. Miragaya has co-edited and co-authored many academic articles and multiauthor books on sports, physical activities and Olympic Studies.
Theme 2: Evolution of the sport system: addressing sport concerns with positive narratives - solutions focused instead of problem focused Keynote Speaker Karen Petry (Germany) Karen Petry (PhD) studies Sport Science at the German Sport University and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne. Since 2003 she is the Deputy Head of the Institute of European Sport Development and Leisure Studies. She is responsible for the research activities in European Sport Policy, Sport for Development, Social work and Sport. Karen gives lectures in the MA International Sport Development and Politics, MA Sport Management and the MA Sport Tourism. She is also Lecturer in the European Master Programme Health and Physical Activity at the University of Rome. Karen published several books and articles in the area of European and international Sport Policy, Sport and Development, Sport and Social Work, and Sport and Gender. She is member of the Editorial Board of different international journals (such as the International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics). Since 2002 she is board member (President from 2017-2019) of the European Network of Sport Education (ENSE). From 2004-2007 Karen co-ordinated the Thematic Network Project AEHESIS (Aligning a European Higher Educational Structure in Sport Science) this project was nominated as ERASMUS Success Story in 2007 by the European Commission. In 2011 she received the Alberto- Madella-Award for her outstanding engagement in Sport Education. 4
Panel Participants Elvira Baze (Albania) Head of Drafting and Feasibility Projects in Sport at the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, in support of the implementation of State policies in the field of sport and physical education. Curriculum Developer at the Institute of Education Development, with the responsibility to carry out supporting tasks on developing P.E. national curricula and training physical education teachers. Zsofia Toth (Hungary) Psychologist, Trainer, Researcher and Project Manager of the I-HEPA Department of CEIPES (Italy). She has extensive experience in the field of international project management, and non-formal education with a special focus on equal opportunities, inclusion, health, human rights and prevention of discrimination. Giada Rossi (Italy) Giada Rossi, Class 1994, is the youngest promise of the Paralympic Table Tennis. She represented Italy at the Paralympic Games of Rio de Janeiro 2016, where she won a bronze medal in the single. Female category 1-2 5
