RULES FOR AMATEUR REGISTRANTS 2 AMATEUR COMPETITIVE DANCE DISPLAYS, SPONSORSHIP AND ADVERTISING 2.1 Amteurs my give demonstrtion of ny form of Competitive Dne, in the following irumstnes: d e f g h Competitive ouples Level 3 nd ove, my perform disply t puli or privte funtion for the purpose of promoting Competitive Dne. The Amteur Teher must omplete Counil - Amteur Tehing form, efore ommenement of tehing. (Appendix 7). The Amteur Teher must teh under the diretion of Counil registered nd qulified Professionl (Sponsor) t ll times. i ii The Amteur Teher nnot dvertise themselves s, Prinipl or Diretor of Counil reognised dne studio nor use ny words suggesting Qulified or Professionl ttinment s Teher. The Amteur Teher nnot teh independently or remotely other thn under the diretion of nd under the responsiility of, their nominted Professionl Sponsor. An Amteur Teher nnot prtner dner in Prtnership Exluded, P/E Event. 4 AMATEURS TURNING PROFESSIONAL 4.1 When n Amteur turns Professionl, he or she is not permitted to ompete in Professionl ompetition until the expiry of one lendr month from the dte of notifition of suh hnge in sttus to Counil, or of registrtion s Professionl whihever is the ltter. The Seretry of Counil will notify the Registrr ordingly. 5 AMATEUR REGISTRATION FEES 5.1 The registrtion fees shll e s determined y Counil. 5.2 Refer to Appendix 1 for Fees Shedule. 6 REGISTRATION BY AMATEURS 6.1 All ompetitors in Amteur ompetitions run under Counil rules in ll levels nd divisions, shll e Registered Amteur Dners, registered with Counil. They shll delre their urrent registrtion numers on their entry forms. 6.2 To e registered, Registrnts must fully omplete nd sign n pplition form nd enlose the pproprite fee nd send to the Registrr. An epted ompleted signed pplition form retes inding greement with the Registrnt nd Counil. The initil registrtion pplition must stte the pplint s dte of irth. For Registrnts under the ge of 16 yer, the pplition form must e signed y their prent or Gurdin. 6.3 Should the pplition for Registrtion e suessful, the Registrr will issue the registrnt with Registrtion numer for use. 6.4 One Registered, Pyment of n nnul fee will deem tht registrnt s registered for tht yer. All Amteur Dners must py n nnul fee whih flls due on the 1st Jnury eh yer. No Amteur Dner is to e onsidered registered in ny one yer until he or she hs pid tht yer s registrtion fee. The dte of pyment of the registrtion shll e the dte of reeipt y Counil. 6.5 In sumitting pyment of the nnul registrtion fees, the Registrnt grees to omply nd follow the rules s lid out in the most reent opy of The NZBDC ompetition rule ook, inluding ny hnges tht my e pssed during the yer of registrtion. 6.6 NZBDC reserves the right to refuse registrtion to ny individul where it hs resonle elief tht they do not meet the riteri to e onsidered n Amteur Dner. 6.7 With regrds to ny ouple where one prtner is not registered, tht ouple is not eligile to ompete. RULES FOR PROFESSIONAL REGISTRANTS 7 PROFESSIONAL COMPETITIVE DANCE DISPLAYS, SPONSORSHIP AND ADVERTISING 7.1 There re no restritions on Professionl dners performing or demonstrting Dne or Competitive Dne. 7.2 There re no restritions on Professionl dner tehing or ohing. 7.3 There re no restritions on Professionl dners eing sponsored or used in dvertising. 8 REGISTRATION BY PROFESSIONALS 8.1 To ompete t ny Counil pproved ompetition, Professionl must e urrently registered with Counil. In order to Adjudite Professionl must e urrently registered s Qulified Professionl nd hold n Adjuditor Liene. 8.2 To e registered, Professionls must fully omplete nd sign n pplition form nd enlose the pproprite fee nd send to the Registrr. An epted ompleted signed pplition form retes inding greement with the Registrnt nd the NZBDC. The minimum ge for Professionl Dner to ompete is 16 yers old. The minimum ge for Professionl to djudite is 18 yers old. 8.3 Should the pplition for Registrtion e suessful, the Registrr will issue the Professionl registrnt with Registrtion numer for use, or if previously n Amteur Dner hnge the prefix from A to P. 8.4 One Registered, pyment of n nnul fee will deem tht registrnt s registered for tht yer. All Professionl Registrnts must py n nnul fee whih flls due on the 1st Jnury eh yer. No Professionl is to e onsidered registered in ny one yer until he or she hs pid tht yer s registrtion fee. The dte of pyment of the registrtion shll e the dte of reeipt y Counil. 8.5 In sumitting pyment of the nnul registrtion fees, the Professionl registrnt grees to omply nd follow the rules s lid out in the most reent opy of The New Zelnd Bllroom Dne Counil Rule Book, inluding ny hnges tht my e pssed during the yer of registrtion. 8.6 When Professionl registers with Counil he shll e lssified into one of two tegories - Qulified Professionl or Unqulified Professionl. Qulified Professionls re responsile for sumitting notifition of their qulifitions (Assoite, Lientite, nd Fellow) held with reognised Professionl orgniztion in eh rnh (Stndrd, Ltin, New Vogue, Clssil Sequene) to Counil. Sumitting qulifitions gives uthority for the Registrr to request doumented evidene tht suh qulifitions re held with the Professionl orgnistion from the Seretry of tht Professionl orgnistion. 8.7 Qulified Professionls wishing to Adjudite in New Zelnd must pply for n Adjuditors Liene.. Apply for nd py the Adjuditor Liene Fee s set out in Appendix 1. Complete, to Counils stisftion, ny Professionl Development required y Counil. Suh Professionl Development to e redily ville nd dvertised s neessry for ny given Clendr Yer of Registrtion. 9 PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION FEES 9.1 The registrtion fees shll e s determined y Counil. 9.2 Refer to Appendix 1 for Fees Shedule. 10 REINSTATEMENT TO AMATEUR STATUS 10.1 Should Professionl desire reinsttement to Amteur sttus, he shll pply in writing to Counil giving the fullest possile informtion nd enlosing fee s set y Counil. Counil shll judge eh se on its merits nd mke its deision ordingly. The pplint shll hve the right of ppel to Counil ut if n ppel is mde, ny deision mde stnds until either hnged or rtified y Counil. 11 ADJUDICATING PROFESSIONAL COMPETITIONS 11.1 If Professionl djudites Professionl ompetition, he my no longer ompete in ny Professionl events (For Clrity: exludes Professionl with Amteur Competitions). 17 ORGANISATION OF COMPETITIONS 17.1 All Counil registered ompetitions (held in New Zelnd) in ll lsses must e run under these rules. 17.2 Any ssoition or person grnted permission or given reognition to run ny ompetition must er the full finnil responsiility for the funtion, ering ny loss or tking ny profit tht my rue. 17.3 All events shll show the Clss given, nd this shll e stipulted on ll progrms nd invittions to ompete. 17.4 A opy of the invittion to ompete or notie of n intending Clss A or B event must e sent to the Registrr nd to the Seretry, 14 dys prior to the event tking ple. 17.5 Following eh event ll ompetition orgnisers will send the results of the ompetition to reh the Registrr within three dys of the event. The results to inlude, list of the ompetitors, the numers of eh ompetitor in eh event, list of the djuditors used nd nme of the Chirperson nd opy of the progrm. This restrition does NOT pply to exhiition events. 17.11 It is not permissile for ny ompetitor to e pssed through to lter round of ompetition without hving ompeted in the erlier rounds. 27 REQUIREMENTS FOR ADJUDICATION 27.1 In order for Qulified Professionl to Adjudite in New Zelnd tht Professionl must hve registered nd een epted y Counil for n Adjuditors Liene for tht Clendr yer of the ompetition inluding ompleting, to Counils stisftion, ny Professionl Development ssigned y Counil to eome Liened Adjuditor for tht Clendr yer. 27.2 An djuditor must retire from the pnel of n event on ny osion when he hs memer of his immedite fmily dning in tht event. Immedite fmily is defined s first ousin or loser. 27.3 Where the djuditor elieves tht they hve pereived onflit of interest in djuditing ompetitor on the floor due to reltionship outside of rule 27.2 ove, it is their responsiility to retire from the pnel nd notify the Chirperson of Adjuditors. Should the Chirperson of Adjuditors reognise pereived onflit of interest etween n Adjuditor nd ompetitor/s the Chirperson will remove tht Adjuditor from the Event. 27.4 No djuditor my djudite lone in ny event in whih he or she hs pupils ompeting. (Note: This rule refers to dning in tht event nd therefore lso pplies to those prtnering ompetitor. I.e. Preliminry & Prtnership exluded events). 27.5 Any ompetitor entering ompetition held under these rules must ept s finl the verdit of the djuditors nd their individul mrkings, nd no ppel n e mde to Counil or elsewhere exept where it n e shown tht tul mrkings hve een inorretly interpreted. Suh ppel n only e herd y the Chirmn of Adjuditors. 27.6 Should it e disovered from perusl of the mrkings tht ny one djuditor hs een t vrine with his fellow djuditors, the mtter shll e reported to the Chirmn of Adjuditors y the Srutineers diret. The Chirmn of Adjuditors my report the mtter to Counil. 27.7 Adjuditors gree to follow the Adjuditors ode of ondut (Appendix 9). 27.8 Implementtion of disqulifition Adjuditors oserving ny infringement must mrk D ginst the ompetitors numer. A rief desription of the infringement must e noted. i There is no requirement to mrk Competitor lst (or not into the next round) solely on oserving n infringement. Adjuditors should mrk the ouple on the merit of their performne. If two or more D s re reorded ginst ompetitor or one 'D' where sole judge is used, the Chirmn or Orgniser, must inform the ompetitor onerned nd the djuditors of the infringement efore the next round. If this or ny other infringement is repeted in susequent rounds nd is reported y more thn one djuditor, or in the se of Sole judge y tht djuditor, the mrks of the ompetitor in tht dne nd in tht round must e deleted y the Chirmn of Adjuditors. 28 RESPONSIBILITY OF SCRUTINEERS 28.1 It is the Srutineers responsiility for the orret reording of the mrks nd the implementtion of the Skting System of mrking finls. 28.2 It is their responsiility to report ny disqulifitions in the form of D mrked on n djuditor s sheets to the hirmn of djuditors. In the Chirmn s sene this will e reported to the orgniser. In the finl round, if more thn one djuditor mrks D ginst ny ompetitors, those ompetitors must e pled lst in tht dne y the Srutineers AFTER dvising the Chirmn of Adjuditors. All suh disqulifitions must e noted on the Srutineers mrking sheet. 28.3 The Srutineers re required to report to the Chirmn ny djuditor whose mrks re t vrine with the rest of the djuditors nd it is the Chirmn s responsiility to report on the mtter to Counil if deemed pproprite. 28.4 Srutineers will ensure tht the results nd mrks for n event re not divulged until they re hnded over to the orgniser 28.5 Srutineers re not llowed to t s Chirmn nd t ll times the Chirmn nd Srutineers will t in onjuntion with eh other. 29 CHAIRPERSON OF ADJUDICATORS 29.1 The Chirperson of Adjuditors is ppointed y the orgniser of ompetition. 29.2 The Chirperson is responsile to the Orgniser for overseeing the ppointed Adjuditors nd their mrking of ompetitors nd events in ordne with the urrent rules of NZBDC pertining to ompetitions. 29.3 The Chirperson of Adjuditors is responsile for the orret interprettion of the mrks. It is his duty to inspet the mrks fter eh event nd to gree with the orgniser(s), the numer of ouples to e pssed forwrd to semi-finls nd finls. 29.4 To e le to t s Chirperson of Adjuditors for ompetitions pproved NZBDC Rules the Chirmn must meet the following riteri. Registered nd fully pid up s Qulified Professionl with the NZBDC. To hve pssed y exmintion nd hold ertifite s qulified Srutineer with Soiety reognised y Counil. Qulified with n pproved NZBDC reognised Professionl ody to the level required for the lss of the event. i ii iii Clss A: Hold reognised Professionl qulifition to Lientite level in ll the styles eing judged t the ompetition for whih he hs een ppointed s Chirmn. All Clsses: Hold urrent Adjuditors Liene. 29.5 The Chirmn must ensure tht the ppointment hs either een pulily nnouned or delred in the ompetition progrm. 29.6 The Chirmn must ensure tht ll of the djuditors s ppointed y the orgniser hold qulifition to djudite the style nd lss of hmpionship for whih they hve een ppointed nd tht they re urrently registered s qulified Professionl with the NZBDC. Proof of registrtion will e the prodution of relevnt reeipt from the NZBDC Registrr. Overses djuditors must e le to produe relevnt Professionl registrtion from their ountry of origin. In the event tht n djuditor is not present or unle to judge for whtever reson the Chirperson of Adjuditors will in onjuntion with the orgniser ppoint replement for the durtion or prt of the ompetition. 29.8 The Chirperson will ensure tht the djuditors omply with the Adjuditors Code of Ethis t ll times nd report ny non-ompline to the djuditor onerned. 29.9 The Chirperson will ensure tht the musi for eh nd every dne is suitle for nd the tempi in ordne with tht set out for the dne onerned in Appendix 3 of Counil rule ook.
