July 23rd Drill Day (mandatory) We will be enjoying the Change of Command Ceremony today with our entire Young Marine family, special guests and news media to thank Mr. Crane for his years of service as Unit Commander and welcome our new Unit Commander. We will be meeting at the location at 8am to set up for the event and the event starts at 10 am. We will have the ceremony and then followed it with refreshments. We cannot express how important it is that all Young Marines, recruits, and everyone s family attend this event. July 30th- CAR WASH! We hope everyone has been selling those tickets. We have already had requests for another packet from some young marines. We will meet at the DRC (normal drill site) at 9 am to set up the pop ups, coolers, hoses, seating, supplies, etc. Come dressed in black shorts, red national, flip flop/water shoes and sunblock! Bring your lunch, water, ready to clean cars. Mrs. Kain will be accepting the money and ticket stubs at every drill and will keep everyone informed on how much they have raised thus far. Don t forget there is a ribbon up for grabs too. If someone says I don t need a car wash, but can I donate? yes. It counts towards your money raised too. ***With the new attendance policy- if you cannot attend any of the above events you must give prior notice to UC Kain before the date with a valid excuse. (valid- school, team sport, out of town, medical etc) We have an attendance form for extended periods of leave that can be found on the website and turned in or mailed prior to leave. If it is not filled out before your extended leave all mandatory events will be marked unexcused. This policy started June 4, 2016. UC Dave Kain Semper Fidelis *If you love this organization and want to do more to help out how about becoming a Registered Adult? It is very rewarding to work with youth and we are hoping to expand the events that we can offer the kids. With that, we need more Registered Adults to make this happen. You do not have to be current or former military. Just be willing to help out when you can. It is through these caring adults that our Young Marines learn the inner values of Leadership, Teamwork and Discipline. Young Marines Registered Adult Volunteers invest their time and effort to pass these values on to the youth in their respective communities before other destructive influences take root.
