Above is PIETJE 564 (EX90) Dam of Piet Adema 180 Piet Adema 180 (Holwerda Thierry x Piet Adema 141 x Jupiter 214) is a well developed, 100% Friesian bull with a strong frame and a pedigree which guarantees good conformation and protein percentage. Sire Holwerda Thierry (Holwerda Amaroz x Willy Keimpe) is a beautiful (EX 91) build bull with a great longevity. The dam of Thierry, Minke 15 realised a lifetime production of more than 100,000 Kg of milk. The daughters of Thierry are late in development, have super feet & legs and are very good character. What is more at the breeding farm of Piet Adema (Veerenhuis) there is 3 EX Thierry cows! In addition the somatic cell count and fertility of these daughters are superb. The dam of Piet Adema 180 (Pietje 564 EX 90) is from a line that produces good conformation and above herd average productions. The line has six generations classified between GP83 and VG86 points. Dam Pietje 564 & Grand dam Pietje 501 for example achieved average lactation values of 115 and 110. Piet Adema 180 has a producing full sister Pietje 600, registered VG86 points with very good production. In her first 2 lactations she realised a lactation value of 111 & 113 with high percentages. Introduced in 2017 to the A.I. station of K.I.Samen, SEM 17 was inspected at the breeding farm of Van Dam - Faber by a group of well respected British Friesian pedigree breeders who were part of the selection process for this recent acquisition. SEM 17 is backed up with a cow family that displays all the quality traits required from the modern Friesian herd book. We see quality udders in respect of attachment, balance and teat placement. The frames are balanced and in particular the rump construction is very correct, from the recordings we see high lifetime productions and fertility which is born out with an impressive 106 for fertility on the Dutch base (MRI). The family dairy farm of Van Dam - Faber have maintained the practice of grazing grass with their dairy herd for as many days as practical, no artificial feeding of protected fats are used for either milk production or Milk Fat production and the herd are milked twice a day and are housed in cubicles through the winter months. To those farmers who are working with aaa SEM 17 is a 513 and we believe the different pedigree and these qualities will bring successful results to any dairy herd looking to maintain conformation, milk quality, longevity and lower cost productions. "NOTE" type proofs are on the MRI breed base! FERTILITY Maintaining or improving fertility is vital to all dairy farmers, those who wish to remain British Friesian or Black & White looking to improve the herds fertility will need to avoid inbreeding. "Strain vigour" that is to say different bloodlines to the ones in your herd is the solution and the bulls contained within this catalogue will deliver those qualities. These bulls will equally work well in a cross breeding program. Recent research has been carried out in The Netherlands in order to measure fertility within different breeds all measured on the Holstein ( Black & White) base cow index of 100.
