Centa Shot then shifted back in bumping Chinzero in onto Elay Princess. Approaching the 400 metres Flo s Happy had to be eased when it improved up onto the heels of Chinzero. A short distance later when attempting to obtain a run to the inside of Chinzero, Flo s Happy made slight contact with the running rail becoming extremely unbalanced losing its footing. A post race veterinary examination of Flo s Happy revealed several minor abrasions to the near side hock. Actionova was inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the straight proving difficult for its rider L. Meech to ride the gelding out in her normal manner over the final 100 metres. J. Toeroek rider of Flo s Happy was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the finish. Race 2 ONLY A LITTLE BIT OVER SV 3YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1300 metres: Shortly after the start Inala Wonder shifted in taking Not Bad Yaself in onto Max Is Back. Approaching the 1100 metres, Seul Spirit which was laying outwards had to be eased to avoid the heels of Inala Wonder which shifted in.
Passing the 100 metres Moon Light Cristi, Not Bad Yaself and Belle Radiance all raced tightly to the inside of Seul Spirit which shifted in slightly. Passing the 50 metres Moon Light Cristi had to be eased when crowded for room between Seul Spirit (J. Cartwright) which shifted inwards under pressure and Not Bad Yaself which was taken out slightly by Belle Radiance which shifted out slightly. J. Cartwright rider of Seul Spirit was advised to stop and straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion. L.Meech rider of Moon Light Cristi could offer no explanation for the poor performance of Moon Light Cristi and a post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Seul Spirit returned with blood in its near side nostril. Trainer Mr T. Parker was advised that prior to racing again the gelding must satisfactorily gallop over 1000 metres in the presence of a steward. Inala Wonder returned having cast its near hind plate. Race 3 NORTHERN GRAMPIANS SHIRE COUNCIL MAIDEN PLATE - 1600 metres: Kaptain Kempinsky was slow to begin. Mr Satnav raced wide in the early stages. Rounding the home turn Kaptain Kempinsky (J.Hill) shifted out to obtain a position to the outside of Grab A Bird where there was insufficient room and as a result Kaptain Kempinsky made heavy contact with Jungle Spirit taking that runner out off its course. J. Hill was severely reprimanded for shifting ground when not clear to do so. Passing the 200 metres Great Bombarder was disappointed for clear running between Grad A Bird and Respect Me when both shifted ground slightly, as a result Great Bombarder had to be steadied and then continued to be held up for some distance following. L. Meech was severely reprimanded for failing to ride her mount, the third placed Respect Me out to the finish. In assessing the matter stewards took into account L. Meech s evidence that her mount was inclined to lay outwards and further stewards did not feel her actions affected the result of the race. L. Meech rider of Respect Me reported that it was not her intention to lead however it was evident after travelling a short distance to obtain a position closer to the rail she would have to allow the filly to stride forward at that stage. D. Yendall rider of Mr Satnav which performed market expectations stated in his opinion the gelding would be suited with the addition on blinkers. A post race veterinary examination of Mr Satnav revealed a minor abrasion to its near hind leg. Race 4 WESTAG KUBOTA 0 62 HANDICAP - 1100 metres: Yocto bounded on jumping away. In the early and middle stages both Hay Bob and Yocto were inclined to overrace getting their heads in the air on several occasions. Passing the 1000 metres Chasing Kisses commenced to race ungenerously and shifted out abruptly hampering Villa Girl which had to be steadied. Chasing Kisses continued to overrace in the middle stages.
Kayeema Jay raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Rounding the home turn Villa Girl shifted out and away from Friend In Deed and in doing so bumped Chasing Kisses. Shortly after straightening Yocto had to be steadied when disappointed for clear running between Friend In Deed and Kayeema Jay which shifted out. When questioned regarding Danzareel leading in todays event, J. Beriman stated she had been instructed to settle in a forward position which was the same instructions at its most previous start at Colac however on that occasion the gelding knuckled at the start and therefore settled further back than expected. J. Beriman further stated that as Danzareel was one of the best to begin she elected to take up the lead position in the early stages. When questioned regarding King Of Finland settling last in today s event which appeared to be in contrast with its racing pattern A Mallyon stated he had been instructed to be slightly more conservative in an attempt to gain cover. He added that as he had drawn wide he felt his only opportunity would be to settled further back however did not intend to be as far back as he did on this occasion. Race 5 QLS LOGISTICS BM72 HANDICAP - 1300 metres: Prior to correct weight, J. Beriman rider of Shysta and its trainer Mr A. Purcell viewed the video footage in the straight before deciding not to lodge an objection. Also prior to correct weight D. Yendall rider of the fifth placed Most Husbands viewed the official photo finish for 4 before agreeing with the judge s decision. Diamonds At Dusk raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Near the 100 metres Koe (NZ) and Shysta came together due to both horses shifting ground. Koe (NZ) was inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight. B. Rawiller rider of Five O Clock which performed below market expectations stated that the gelding hung from the 600 metres and was most disappointing. A post race veterinary examination of Five O Clock revealed no abnormalities. J. Toeroek rider of Ra Ikane reported that the gelding was inclined to lay outwards for the majority of the event. Race 6 CENTREBET STAWELL GOLD CUP - 2000 metres: Trainer Mr A Purcell advised following Race 5 that it was their intention to have Streaky Fella ridden closer than at its most previous starts due to drawing an inside barrier. Streaky Fella settled in a mid-field position. Maythehorsebemagic dropped its head as the start was effected and as a result was slow to begin. Approaching the winning post of the first occasion, Watto s Racer had to be eased when briefly crowded to the inside of King s A Star. Passing the winning post of the first occasion Get Out Of Town had to be steadied to avoid the heels of King s A Star which shifted in when not quite sufficiently clear. R. Bradley rider of King s A Star was severely reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift ground when not sufficiently clear.
Passing the 600 metres Shiny Buttons had to be eased when briefly crowded for room between Enchanting Waters and Rentarossa when both shifted ground slightly. L. Meech rider of Rentarossa which performed poorly stated that the gelding felt satisfactory in its action however was a beaten horse prior to straightening. A post race veterinary examination of Rentarossa revealed no abnormalities other than a slightly elevated heart rate. Trainer Mr T O Sullivan will be contacted in the coming days to ascertain whether anything comes to light which may explain the poor performance. A post race veterinary exam of Enchanting Waters revealed a minor abrasion to the near side hock. When questioned regarding King s A Star leading in today s event, R. Bradley the gelding s rider stated that it was her intention to be positive in the early stages as third up from a spell and this distance range King s A Stars normal racing pattern in the past had been to be in a forward position. R. Bradley stated that this had been the intention at its most recent start at Pakenham however on that occasion the gelding suffered interference at the start and settled further back than intended. Race 7 SCOTT PETROLEUM 0 62 HANDICAP - 2000 metres: Passing the winning post of the first occasion Regal Rules commenced to race ungenerously when being steadied to avoid the heels of Royal Butler which in turn had been steadied to avoid the heels of Decoupez which shifted in. As a result Regal Rules got its head up and further tightened the running of Well Spent which was racing to that geldings inside. While stewards noted the racing manners of Regal Rules, A. Creighton rider of Decoupez was advised to show greater caution in similar circumstances. For some distance passing the 600 metres Three Chain Road was inclined to lay outwards. For some distance rounding the home turn Gun And Power was held up for clear running until being steadied outwards around the heels of Cosey Polly near the 200 metres. Approaching the 100 metres Gun And Power was briefly crowded between Three Chain Road and Royal Butler when both shifted ground slightly. When questioned regarding Three Chain Road shifting out prior to rounding the home turn allowing the eventual race winner Wilshire Flyer to improve to its inside, R. Plumb stated that the gelding which was a big horse and therefore had difficultly negotiating the tight racing circuit and therefore he had difficulty from the 700 metres in maintaining a position on the fence due to Three Chain Road laying outwards. His comments were noted. Race 8 STAWELL GOLD MINES 0 68 HANDICAP - 1600 metres: Love My World and Auge were both slow to begin. White Knight and Sir Presidente were both hampered at the start between Old Bill and Lots Of Dollars which shifted out and away from Captain Segal. Near the 1400 metres Auge which had commenced to overrace had to be steadied when crowded by Let Them Have It (J. Cartwright) which shifted in. J. Cartwright was advised to show far greater care in similar circumstances. Auge continued to overrace in the middle stages. Lots Of Dollars raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
Rounding the home turn Love My World was held up for clear running. Rounding the home turn Lots Of Dollars shifted out taking White Knight out onto Sir Presidente. In the early stages of the straight Old Bill was inclined to lay inwards proving difficult for its rider D. Lane to ride it out in his normal manner and further near the 100 metres had to be steadied outwards to avoid the heels of Auge. Approaching the 100 metres Little Miss Amur shifted out to improve and in doing do hampered Love My World which had to be eased to avoid that mares heels. L. Londregan rider of Little Miss Amur was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift ground when not sufficiently clear. H Coffey, rider of Mujadale could offer no explanations for the performance of the gelding which was below market expectations and a post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
