WEEK FIVE: Dribbling With Pressure WARM UP (5mins): Batman & Robin 0 x 0 Square Players work in pairs, one is Batman the other Robin. Batman has 0 seconds to try and tag Robin inside the area. If tagged players swap roles. Whoever is the tagger after 0 seconds performs 5 star jumps. Keep ball close and within reach of feet Head up to see where your partner is Players work in pairs with one ball. The player with the ball (Batman) follows their partner (robin) around the area. Player without the ball can only walk. Player without the ball should try and vary their speed and direction to lose their partner. Play for 0 seconds and swap. Batman tries to stay as close to Robin as possible. Both players now have a ball. TECHNICAL (5mins): Dribbling with pressure 0x0 yard area with goals. Place a cone 5 yards from each goal. even teams to the right hand side of each goal. Player dribbles past the cone to shoot for the goal opposite. As soon as the shot has been struck, player from the next team dribbles to the goal opposite. Player then must try and recover and prevent player from shooting. As player shoots, player will go and player will chase. Process repeats Once player has had shot they must chase next player entering the game Switch teams to other side of goal to use left foot M.O.D.E - Movement- first touch to allow shot - Observe - goal keeper position - Decision - where and how to shoot

WEEK FIVE - Receiving Skills & Dribbling Technical Warm Up (5mins) - Receiving Skills 5x5 yard area with 4 corner goals & 5 yard gate in centre Split into two teams lined up centrally between each set of goals. One team start with the balls. First player in team without balls runs into the centre through the gate. As player reaches gate ball is passed in. Player receives to turn and dribbles through a corner goal and back to thier team. should them be with other team to repeat exercise. Receiving player can turn to either goal and dribble through. The passer must now try and run through the other goal before the receiver gets through the goal they turn too. Winner gets a point for their team. Passer now chases receiver and tries to tag them before they dribble through a goal Change of speed or direction to beat defender Use a move to beat defender TECHNICAL (5mins): Receiving under pressure 5x5 yard area with 4 corner goals & 5 yard gate in centre Have two teams lined up side by side centrally between the goals. The attacker will start the practice. As soon as the attacker runs for the gate, the defender can follow. Attacker receives a pass from the coach tries to receive the ball and turn to dribble through either goal. Defender can t tackle until attacker has taken a touch. If defender wins the ball they can attack other two goals. Make team competition : Check shoulder before receiving Take touch into space Disguise 60x40 yard area

WEEK SIX: Dribbling with change of direction WARM UP (5mins): Dribbling Box 0x0 box Have player stand inside the box holding a ball in their hands. All other players with a ball stand on the outside of the box. Idea of the game is for the outside players to dribble their ball through the box without being tagged by the player inside the box point for dribbling diagonally to either side. points for dribbling to opposite side point for each player defender tags. TECHNICAL (5mins): v Attacking 5x5 yard area with goals back to back in the centre 5 yards apart Defending team pass the ball through to attacking team. Attacker tries to score in either goal. Defender tries to win ball and score in either goal Have defenders inside the box. Keep ball close and within reach of feet Dribble at speed into space Awareness of defenders v Keep ball close and within reach of feet Dribble at speed into space Awareness of defenders

WEEK SIX: Dribbling with change of direction WARM UP (5mins): Box to Box 5x5 yard area with x boxes inside the area Each player has a ball and dribbles around inside the area and through as many squares as possible. Only person in a square at a time. How many squares can you go through in minute Players must turn change direction inside the square Add player as a tagger who can not go into the squares. If tagged player must freeze on the spot until high 5 d by another player to be free. Boxes are safe zones for 5 seconds. Dribble to keep the ball close Different parts of the foot to move the ball Accelerate away TECHNICAL (5mins): Dribbling Box 0x0 yard area Have defenders inside the box. Keep ball close and within reach of feet Dribble at speed into space Awareness of defenders

WEEK SEVEN: Dribbling - Close Control WARM UP (5mins) - Pinny Tag 0x0 yard area Each player has a pinny tucked into their shorts. player (highlighted) will try and grab as many pinnies as possible. point for each pinny. Once a pinny has been taken, it is dropped on the floor so player can re-join the game. Players move around the area trying to keep away from all other players. Progression Add another catcher Each player now has a ball Coaching Points: Move into space Keep ball close to feet TECHNICAL (5mins): Straight Lines v Zig Zags 0x5 yard area with cones along the width of the area Split onto two teams. Reds start on the short side, whites start on the long side. The red team must dribble their ball from east to west. White team dribble north to south but must zig zag the dribble. Start players on all sides with same rules Switch team sides. Add a defender in the area who tries to touch the top of any ball with the sole of their foot. Point for each ball touched. Attackers point for every successful dribble to the other side. : Slow in traffic Speed up into space

WEEK SEVEN:vMoves WARM UP (5mins): Dribbling - Change of speed Create a 0x0 yard square with 5x5 square inside. EAch player has a ball and dribbles in the outside square. When a player enters the middle square they must perform moves before going back to the larger square. Add defender to the middle square who must try and touch the top of any ball with the bottom of their foot. Attackers must try and perform moves in the middle square without defender touching their ball. point for every moves. Defender gains point for every touch of a ball with sole of foot. : Keep ball close Inside/outside/sole of foot to manipulate ball TECHNICAL (5mins): v moves Create a 5x5 yard square. In each corner place a yard wide goal. Each player has a ball. The players in opposite lines dribble the ball towards each other. Just before the players crash they must change direction to the right and dribble to the opposite line. How close can they get before they change direction. Can player use a move to change direction Red team have a ball each. First plater dribbles ball into play and tries to get ball through white team goal. One white player enters game and tries to win possession to score in red team goal. : Attack at speed Change of direction Change of speed once past defender

WEEK EIGHT - Passing Technical Warm Up: (5mins) Passing Groups of 4 with balls per group. Rotate working player One player will work (player ). Player passes ball to P who passes ball to spare player (P) Player 4 then passes to player, who passes to spare player. Each time a pass is made to player there will be a spare player to pass too. Weight and accuracy of pass Balance and being ready to receive Head up and awareness of spare player touch play touch play Inside of the foot Outside of the foot Have one player standing behind working player to introduce receiving and turning Technical: (5mins) Passing 44x yard area Rotate working player Progression from the practice above however all the groups are working within the same area and are moving around. This will help develop the player s awareness and decision making. Can the next player waiting to receive find himself in good support position in-between players. WEEK EIGHT - Passing & Receiving Technical Warm Up( 5mins) - Triangle passing 5x5x5 yard triangle with 5 yard gate central on each side Split players evenly on corner cones with one player in each gate. Player on each cone passes to player. Player receives to turn and pass to player on next cone. Players follow their pass each time. Coaching Points: A,B,C - Awareness, Body Shape, Control Weight and accuracy of passing Technical (5mins): Random Attacking Game x44 yard area with a goal at each end. Split into two teams with each team starting in opposite corners of the area. Coach will choose four colours. (Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow) Each team must associate a colour with a number (e.g... red = ) They will not tell the other team which colour they associate with which number, meaning both teams should be different. Progression Switch direction of play Player checks to outside of gate to receive and passes to player. Player must start centrally in gate and check to outside of triangle. P passes to P. P sets back to P who passes through gate to P. P becomes P and P joins next line. As above but now P joins the group they are facing when they check out to the side. Player will have to run through practice being aware of traffic. Mix up colour and number combinations. : Take advantage of extra players Attack at speed Shots on target 60x40 yard area

WEEK NINE: Passing TECHNICAL WARM UP (5mins): Passing Create 5 yard goals 0 yards aprat with cones set out as shown Split players into two teams starting on cones opposite small goals. First player from each line dribbles a ball towards the small goal. Once through the goal they pass to the next line and join that line. Both lines work at the same time. Toe Taps to the goal Foundations to the goal HAve a player standing in each gate. Player pass the ball into target player who sets ball back to then be passed to next group. : Keep ball close Head up to look for pass Weight and accuracy of pass TECHNICAL (5mins) - Passing to Shoot 5x0 yard area with cones set out as shown Red player dribbles the ball towards the gate and passes ball through to white. White takes positive touch and tries to score. Red runs around the cone and tries to stop shot on goal. WEEK NINE: Dribbling, Passing & Receiving Technical Warm Up: (5mins): 5x5 yard area with x boxes inside the area One player is a tagger and must try and tag players on the back to gain a point. If tagged player must stand with feet apart. Other players must crawl through tagged players legs to get them back into the game. The boxes are safe zones but players can only be in the zone for seconds. Play without soccer balls involved. Each player has a ball Dribble to keep the ball close Different parts of the foot to move the ball Accelerate away TECHNICAL (5mins): Passing & Control 4v Create two 0x0 squares 4 players in each square with defender. Players try and keep ball away from defender. Once defender clears the ball from the square, player who lost possession becomes new defender. Defenders now work in pairs, if one defender wins the ball they can move into other square and create 4v situation. : Quality, wieght and accuracy of pass A,B,C - Awareness, body shape & control Movement to create space Draw defender in to play around SMALL SIDED GAME (5mins)- 6v6 60x40 yard area

WEEK TEN: Shooting WARM UP (5mins): Squashers & Shooters 5x0 area split into three 0x5 channels Player dribbles to opposite red cone. As player is dribbling player calls out squash At this point player stops the ball with sole of foot (squashes the ball) and player runs in to shoot first time to goal. Rotate groups Competition: Shooters v GK Shooters point for each goal GK point for each save Dribble to keep the ball close Different parts of the foot to move the ball Accelerate away TECHNICAL (5mins): Shooting Speed Race 0x5 yard area with goal. SPlit into two teams, 5 yards from each goal post. Coach s starts opposite the goal. On coaches command first player from each line races out to the opposite cone through the central gate to try and be first to a ball passed into the area by the coach. Player who scores gets point for their team. Throw ball in the air into the game Number each player from each team. Concentration of when its your go to race Speed when running Laces or inside of foot to shoot

WEEK TEN: Shooting Technical Warm Up (5mins) Receive, shoot and follow up x44 yard area with goals, Place 4 cones 6 yards from goal in line with goal posts. Have 4 even groups 5 yards either side of each goal post. player stands on each of the cones in the centre area. Player plays a straight pass to player and follow pass as shown. Player receives to shoot in touches. Follow up shot then join other line. Both sides work simultaneously. Strike for power with laces Strike for placement with inside of foot M.O.D.E - Movement- first touch to allow shot - Observe - goal keeper position - Decision - where and how to shoot - Execute - correct technique to shoot : Hit the target Follow up shots Use Both Feet Laces for power/inside of foot for placement TECHNICAL (5mins) - Ball Protection x5 yard area Create v in one half and v in other half with GKs. An attacker starts with a ball in each half and starts practice by passing to attacker in other half. Players receive and turn to attack defender to goal. Attacker in v attempts to retain possession or score. If A s score, one can join A in other half to create v. If defenders win possession they try and score in same goal and A s try and win ball back. Player now has a ball and must dribble the ball. Player follows. When coach shouts go player must try and win the ball and player must try and protect it. Player who has the ball after minute gains a point. Use body to protect the ball SMALL SIDED GAME (5mins)- 6v6 60x40 yard area Teams now attack and defend two goals. Switch the goals they attack and defend every mins. First team to score in all four goals wins Hit the target Follow up shots Use Both Feet
