Team Michael Owen... Congratulations to Michael Owen being accepted into Badminton 2016 on Bradeley Law. It is brilliant news for Mike and his team and Kelsall are cheering him on all the way! Good Luck Mikey! Look out for exciting competitions coming up in the next newsletter featuring the main man himself, Michael Owen! BE XC Schooling Following the April horse trials, we will open up the eventing course for schooling for two weeks. We have courses from BE80cm up to intermediate but we do NOT allow schooling over the intermediate course or any pinned fences or those that will be too much of a question or where the profile makes the jumping too much of a challenge once the flowers are removed. The arbiter of what s safe to school over is David Evans and we will not negotiate on the safety matters even if you re really nice and really want to practice one that s cross flagged! The charge for schooling over the BE course is 25 per horse and there are no discounts allowed for group size or clubs. Please contact the office to find out whether the facility is available on 07809 689972. The course will be closed on the Monday following the event to allow us to check the course and flag off jumps we don t want using. Expect the course to be open from April 26th and May 8th, from 9am until 5pm, late night opening till 8pm on Thursdays only. We reserve the right to close the course at short notice and without explanation should the need arise.
Qualifiers for the Blue Chip Central North West BE80 (T) Challenge The team at Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre are delighted to announce our involvement with the Blue Chip Central North West BE80 (T) Challenge. Qualifying classes will be held at both our BE fixtures with competitors who are placed within the top 4 in any of the Airowear BE80 (T) sections going forward to the Challenge Final which will be held at Weston Park Horse Trials on 8th October 2016. If a combination have already qualified then qualifications will pass down the line to 8th place. We are very excited to be involved with this new challenge that is aimed at the up and coming riders of our sport, said Joint-Organiser of Kelsall Hill Horse Trials, Jane Whitaker. I can only imagine that this series will encourage more competitors to take part in the sport and I look forward to running our first qualifier in April. The aim of this challenge will be to enhance the education of Grass Roots riders at BE 80 (T) level. The series will be piloted this season in the Central North West region, but it is hoped that it could go national in the future. Since announcing the Blue Chip North West BE80(T) Challenge, we have been delighted by the response from competitors all wishing to know how, where and when they can qualify, explained Vicky Plant who is the Challenge Organiser. We have some wonderful prizes on offer, so fingers crossed that the Challenge will be a great success for our area. Clare Blaskey, the Founder of Blue Chip Feeds Ltd, explained that the company are thrilled to be sponsoring the challenge. We have always promoted the grassroots rider and those that aspire to greater things. Blue Chip are very proud to be part of this great new initiative, said Clare.
