SOCCER Soccer is currently played by approximately 1 000 000 people in Australia. It requires little equipment beyond a safe grassy place to play. Students commonly improvise goals using school bags or bins, and any ball will work as long as it is round. The benefits of participating in such an activity may include: Improved cardiovascular health Students of different ages and sizes can play against each other (non contact sport) Gross motor development May develop concentration Opportunity to develop team work Opportunity to develop sportsmanship and handle losing Develop communication skills May assist with the management of ADHD
