Gladesville Sharks Registration Process For 2016 General information All players playing with Gladesville Sharks in the 2016 season must register at MyFootballClub (MFC). You must have an FFA number and a player password to complete this registration. The FFA number and password are generated from within MFC. Guidelines for accessing and using MFC are provided on the club website: www.sharksfc.org.au. Gladesville Sharks will supplement the MFC online registration with two player registration days at Morrison Bay: Saturday 6 February 10am-2pm Sunday 14 February 10am-2pm Returning Gladesville Sharks 2015 Players All returning Gladesville Sharks 2015 players can retrieve their password and FFA number from accessing MFC. Registration for 2016 for these players can be made by either visiting the MFC website or by attending one of the player registration days. Players Transferring from other Clubs Players who played with other clubs in 2015 should be on MFC. Registering to play with Gladesville Sharks in 2016 needs to be completed by accessing MFC or by attending one of the player registration days. First time players Players playing for the first time need to initially be allocated an FFA number before using that number and a password generated within MFC to register to play in 2016. This can be done by either visiting the MFC website or by attending one of the player registration days. 4

The club will make every effort to satisfy preferences to play with other player(s) provided in the Player Registration Process. However, satisfaction of preferences cannot be guaranteed. The Team Nomination process outlined below is available to ensure that a nominated group of players play in the same team. The club will also make every effort to place every player who registers within a team of their division. However, placement of players who register cannot be guaranteed as there may be insufficient registrations to field a team within that age groups/division. Players who have registered and cannot be placed within the team structure will be advised by the end of the first week in March and the club will assist these players in finding an alternative club. Team Nominations Full Team Nomination provides for the nomination of a group of players who wish to play together as a team without the addition of any other players. The number of players included in a Full Team Nomination needs to meet the following guidelines for workable player numbers based on the number of players taking the field: Age Group Number of players on the field Under 6 and 7 4 5-6 Workable player numbers off the field Under 8 and 9 (Under 9 boys) 7 9 9-10 11 Under 10 and 11 9 11-12 Under 12 and above 11 13-14 Full Team Nominations need to be emailed to the Registrar as a list of registered players along with the name and contact details of the team manager by the end of February. Partial Team Nominations provide for the nomination of a group of players who wish to play together where the number of players in the group falls short of the workable player number guidelines above. Partial Team 5

Nominations need to be emailed to the Registrar as a list of registered players along with the name and contact details of the team manager by the end of February. After February, the club will establish the team structure for 2016 by allocating players not included in full and partial team nominations to partial and newly created teams consistent with the workable number player guidelines. Establishment of the team structure may also involve the combination of partial team nominations. The club will consult with the managers of partial team nominations before adding players or combining partial team nominations. Payment options The fee structure for Gladesville Sharks FC in 2016 is: Fees Mens and Womens Competition U6 U7 U8 U9 U10 U11-U14 U15-U16 U17-U18 STUDENT ALL AGE $ Free $50.00 $100.00 $130.00 $150.00 $175.00 $250.00 $340.00 Gladesville Sharks provides discounts for multiple player registrations within the same family and for participation in managing and coaching teams. Gladesville Sharks in 2016 will have a policy of no payment/no play. Until payment is received and confirmed, players will not be registered with the relevant association and will not be able to play. 6

Payment options are: by paying within MFC using credit/debit card by deposit into the club bank account at a branch or internet transfer by Eftpos, cash or cheque at Morrison Bay on the two registration days Gladesville Sharks Football Club banking details: Branch NAB Burwood Account name Gladesville Sharks FC BSB 082171 Account number 167936900 Identifier You should quote your FFA number as the deposit identifier. Club Uniforms How to purchase club kits Club kits will be available for sale at both registration days and will be available for collection at the Coach/Managers meeting/get together on 21 March at the Ranch Hotel. Kits will include Club shorts $20.00 and socks at $10.00. Both these items are part of the club uniform and will need to be purchased prior to the commencement of the season. Non compliance of whole team uniform will result in a fine for that team by the association. Orders for club kits and jerseys can be made through kit@sharksfc.org.au Contact Rhett McComish on 0414 737 574 for all other equipment. Goalie Jerseys & gloves Goalie jerseys will be handed out at the Coach/Managers meeting to teams who require a jersey or a larger replacement jersey (please return small sizes). If a team purchases goalie gloves, the club will refund the purchase price up to $20.00 (please retain receipt for club records). 7

Appropriate footwear It is recommended that all players wear appropriate soccer boots with rubber heels (no metal studs). Returning Jerseys at end of season It will be the responsibility of the team manager to ensure that all jerseys handed out to players at the beginning of the season are returned to the club prior to Presentation day. The Club will require a list of players and their jersey numbers at the commencement of the season. Role of the Coach Role Model. First and foremost, a soccer coach should model appropriate behaviour and attitudes. Demonstrate respect for team members, parents, opponents and others. Praise whenever possible and model a positive attitude, regardless of the outcome of a game or practice. Facilitator. A coach needs to understand why his/her players are there. In the younger age groups, the kids are primarily there to have fun and to learn basic skills. Learn about each player and work to meet their needs while teaching basic skills. Teacher. Help them learn the basic skills of soccer. Dribbling, passing, playing a position, and following rules are part of the overall soccer experience. Develop drills and games that will help them learn basic skills. A set of orange cones is a great investment as a coach. You could set up weaving courses, use the cones for goal corners and help the kids line up for passing drills. When you need to make corrections, help the children see a model of the skill you want them to refine. Then walk them through the key steps to success. Gladesville Sharks offer Coaches a refund of their childs registration fee at the end of the season as a thank you for coaching a team. All coaches are required to pay registration fees at time of registration and a refund will be forwarded at the end of the season depending on their commitment to 8

attending all club meetings throughout the season. Please also refer to the fines section of the handbook regarding team fines. Role of Manager The manager is responsible to: complete teamsheets before every game; look after player ID cards and present them when required; ensure that all team players are in full uniform; help the coach by communicating to players and parents about training times, games times, ground set up duties, and other club events. A great idea for managers is to set up a group email for all parents. Email them all a copy of the parents contact details and ask them to check it. Make sure parents let you know if they are going to be away for a game, so you can arrange to borrow a player if necessary. The more notice the better. Ensure you know when your team is rostered for ground set up or pack up, and communicate the responsibilities as early as possible. Encourage parents to be at the ground 20-30 minutes before the start of each game. It is very frustrating if players are arriving just as the game starts. Have a folder that contains spare team sheets, the player ID cards, copies of the draw, a copy of parent contact numbers, and a pen. Remember to have fun! The Gladesville Sharks offer Managers a refund of their childs registration fee at the end of the season as a thank you for managing a team. All managers are required to pay registration fees at time of registration and a refund will be forwarded at the end of the season depending on their commitment to attending all club meetings throughout the season. Please also refer to the fines section of the handbook regarding team fines. 9
