Last Week in Pinkerton Academy Athletics Baseball Saturday, April 21st, 2018 Varsity: Pinkerton 8 - Salem 4 Great win for Varsity. Day with the W on the bump. Day contributes 3 RBI, Marique w/2rbi, Gulezian and Jenkins chip in with 2 hits a piece. Welch pitches the last 2 innings striking out 3. JV: Pinkerton 6 - Salem 0 Michael Packowski and Matt Michaud combined to pitch a shutout and 6-0 victory over Salem. Packowski pitched 5 innings to earn the win and had 6 strikeouts while Matt Michaud earned the save while striking out 3 batters. Shortstop JD Normand led the hit parade with 2 hits. Jagger Bell added an RBI triple. Anthony Dinardi had a 2 run double, Viot Ortiz contributed a 2 run double and Corbin Cresta also had a key RBI double. Monday, April 23rd, 2018 Varsity: Pinkerton 15 - Alvirne 0 Asa Runge goes 4 with 7 Ks for the W. Jenkins led the offense with 3 hits and 2 RBIs, McGill chipped in w/ 2 hits and 3 RBIs. JV: Alvirne 6 - Pinkerton 0 The JV Baseball team was upended by Alvirne 6-0 and had their record fall to 3-3. PA manager oly 4 hits in the contest and those were collected by Matt Staniech, Jacob Boudreau, JD Normand, and Matt Michaud. Left fielder Corbin Cresta made two nice catches in the field. Matt Staniech, who allowed 3 run in 4 innings pitched, took the loss on the mound for the Astros.

Girls Lacrosse Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 Varsity: Pinkerton 19 - Dover 7 PA played against Dover and won their 7 th game of the season. Early in the game, the score was tied at 2-2 and then PA took over the majority of ball possessions and outscored Dover 11-5 in the first half. In the second half, PA had 70% possession and held Dover to 2 goals. PA Outscored Dover 8-2 in the second half to finish the game 19-7. Abby Jowett led the team in draw controls with 6 and Antonio McKinnon was the team leader in Caused Turnovers with 2. Dani Martineau had 1 save in the first half and Tatyana Sullivan had 1 save in the second half. JV: Pinkerton 11 - Dover 2 The Girls JV Lax team played Dover and won 11-2. Naomi played fantastic in net and had 5 saves. Friday, April 27th, 2018 Varsity: Pinkerton 14 - Londonderry 2 Pinkerton Girls Lacrosse improves to 8-0 on the season with a decisive win against Londonderry. The defensive play from ride back to settled defense kept Londonderry from getting quality shots. Carly Young and her defensive teammates were able to limit Londonderry s top scorer to 3 shots, zero goals, and one assist. PA jumped up 2-0 in the first 2 minutes of the game and then closed out the first half with a 7-0 lead. Londonderry scored their first goal with 7:13 remaining. PA scored two more goals bringing the score to 14-1 with 2:10 left and Londonderry scored their second goal of the game with 1:01 left. PA gained possession to run the clock out. Kiley Davis earned her 100 th career point (goals and assists) during the game with a 5 goal 2 assist performance. At the end of the game she had 103 career points. Lily Auger led the team in draw controls while Madison Daziel and Sydni Dery led the team in ground balls. Aana Blaska had the most caused turnovers for the Astros with 3 on the day.

The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team beat Medfield 14-6 Sunday Evening. Ryan Auger had a game high 5 goals and 2 assists. Chad Teresky added 1 goal and 3 assists. Owen McCormack contributed 2 goals and 1 assist. And Tom Sweeney and Mason Drouin added 3 goals each and with 3 assists between them. Alex Sturgess had 9 saves. JV Volleyball won their game against Lawrence 20-25, 25-21, and 15-12. Chris Walden had a great day with his kills and serves. Athletes of the Week: Kiley Davis, Junior: Girls Lacrosse Kiley had 5 goal 2 assist performance against Londonderry and scored her 100th career point (goals and assists) during the game. Ryan Auger, Junior: Boys Lacrosse Ryan had a terrific week leading in scoring and assists against two tough opponents this week. Against Souhegan Auger had 3 goals and 4 assists and against Medfield Ryan lead the team in goals with 5 as well as adding 3 assists.
