President s Message This is the most difficult President s message that I have ever written since it will be my last. After 30 years of being your President and almost 10 as your CEO, it is time for me to ride into the sunset and pass the baton to the next generation. It is very difficult to get my mind around the fact that I have sat in that seat since October 1985. I can assure you that when I received the baton from Dick Wallace I had no intentions of being President for that long or becoming the CEO! Just seems to have worked that way and all for the best. It has been a very good ride and we have accomplished many good things, way too many to begin to name. It would be impossible to thank everyone who had input over the past years and there are many. With the fear of missing someone I will only mention two that I would like to personally thank from the bottom of my heart. They were active before I became a member in 1974 and they are going to remain active after I leave. Dick Wallace has been the back bone of Palmyra Sportsmen s since the 50 s and remains active today in Archery and is still our Vice-President. Bruce Meyerhoffer has been active in Palmyra Sportsmen s since the 60 s and continues to run Trap for the past 50 plus years. Bruce has also been our maintenance person over the past 10 years and I depended upon him very much. I cannot go any further without also saying thank you to Rod Beyerle. Rod has been our General Manager and Secretary the past 10 years and I owe him a great debt of gratitude for his dedication to Palmyra Sportsmen s and his uncanny ability to solve mechanical issues and save us a lot of money. I will stop there and just say thank you to all the other officers, volunteers and members over the past 30 years. It goes without saying that everyone had a part in our success over the past 30 years and for that I am extremely grateful! My last official day is the July 17 club meeting. I will officially pass the baton to Jeff Lutz, after the special election and I will close my chapter of Palmyra Sportsmen s after 369 meetings as President. Jeff has been around Palmyra for the past 20 years and is very capable of leading Palmyra into the future. Jeff has led a number of programs over the past 10 years, such as the PSA Shootout and captain of the Bullseye Team. He also started the youth Air Pistol team and dedicates a lot of his efforts to the kids and our programs. I have been and currently am working with Jeff on passing as much of my knowledge, information and contacts onto him. It is my objective to give him as much of a head start on moving forward as I can. In closing, it is with deep respect that I say thank you to everyone for allowing me the opportunity to be your President. I would also like to thank my wife Dayl and my children for allowing me the time to fulfill my goal to make Palmyra Sportsmen s the best it could be. Remember this; always do what is best for the club and everything else will take care of itself. Best Wishes, Skip ******************************************************************************************************************* Archery 30-Target 3-D Shoot By Dick Wallace Palmyra will be hosting the International Bowhunting Org. (IBO) Pa State Championship 30 3-D target shoot on June 2 and 3. Registration: Saturday, June 2 from 7am-2pm and on Sunday, June 3 from 7am-1pm at Palmyra. This shoot is also a qualifier for the IBO Championship being held in Snowshoe, WV on August 9-12. Wednesday Night 3-D By Dick Wallace We shoot 15 targets every Wednesday night through mid-september. Help is needed to set up targets so we have different courses every week. Set-up can be at your convenience. Please sign-up on the board in the clubhouse. Starting time is 4pm until dusk. 2

Club Policies No exploding targets No self-sealing cube or square targets No bump firing or slide fire/ bump fire stocks These policies were passed by the membership at a club meeting due to safety concerns. The most important factor is to keep ALL shots on the back stop. No rounds can leave the range; keep this in mind when you are using any of the ranges. Please remember that gun safety and range safety is your responsibility. Target Ranges Do NOT move or readjust targets or frames that are on the shooting ranges. Please leave them where they are set. We have recently experienced considerable damage to targets, frames and stands that were not PSA's property and they will have to be replaced at the clubs expense. Use only targets and backers that are provided by Palmyra Sportsmen's Association on any range. Membership Renewals and Changes REMINDER - You will receive a post card in the mail approximately 60 days before your membership is due for renewal. Please fill out the card completely whether you have a change of address or not. If you do not receive a post card to renew your membership, please use the application in the Newsletter or on the Website. We are no longer handing out stickers when you renew. There are some Life and regular members who have evidently moved and have not provided us with a new address. If any member has an address, telephone number or email address change, please call the club at 717-832-0488 or email karenbeyerle7@gmail.com with your changes. Also, if you were informed to stop in the office with your membership card to have the front replaced, please do so as soon as possible. Call before you come. Thank you Trap Shooting By Bruce Meyerhoffer Clay target (trap) shooting continues on Tuesday evenings starting about 4pm. ************************************************************************************************************************************************** Air Pistol Palmyra competed in the Orion's National Air Pistol League (The League) which is intended to create a bold new competition format, allowing teams from throughout the country to compete virtually in an exciting, spectator-friendly league. The League seeks to simultaneously create a low-cost, yet meaningful national competition for both elite and developing teams. Teams competed against teams near their relative skill level in an 8-game 10-week season. The winner of the league is the team with the best win-loss record. In each game the teams compete in a 40-shot air pistol match. This competition is nearly identical to the Air Pistol events in the Olympic Games. Each athlete will shoot 40 shots, with each shot worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team. Palmyra finished in first place. Team results are listed below: Team Record Avg.
