Use only targets and backers that are provided by Palmyra Sportsmen's Association on any range. The Pit Steel Plate Range Do not move steel targets or backer frames from pit to pit, they are placed in these pits for a specific reason and are not meant to be moved. Please note: Targets and wood pieces or any other items that are stored at the rear of the range are not meant to be put on the range and used as targets. The shooting tables are not meant to be used as a place to set cans or any other targets. Remember as a club member you are part owner of the PSA club and any damage you may cause is like taking money out of your own pocket. President s Message We are currently in the lazy not too hot days of summer. The outdoor ranges are being used on a daily basis and I invite everyone to come and join the fun. Thank you to all the members who chose to renew their dues in the past three months and welcome to all the new members. Time continues to go faster as we approach our 51 st Annual Field on October 12, 2014. For those of you that are new or have never been to one of our Field s, please put it on your calendar. Everyone has a great time with activities for the kids and adults that will make you smile. Watch for the Field Flyer to arrive in mid to late August with all the details and this year s Field Ticket. Here is where all of our members of PSA can be extremely helpful. Would you please either consider buying the 5 tickets that are enclosed or if that is too much to ask; please sell them to a friend or relative? I cannot express to each and every one of you how important your help is on this request! This is our biggest function of the year and the success of our Field is in direct relation to the participation and efforts of our membership. Please feel free to bring nonmembers to Field so they can enjoy the festivities too! Don t forget, I am here every day Monday through Friday and most Saturday s unless I am out of town. Please do not hesitate to call me or stop by if you have a question or need help. We are always more than willing to help our membership in any way they may need it. I cannot begin to thank you enough for being a member of Palmyra Sportsmen. We will look forward to seeing you at the club sometime in the near future so please stop by the office and say hi! Skip Land Fund Pledge By Skip Klinger We would like to thank those members who have participated in my request for donations to the Land Fund. We were able to buy the additional 78 acres this past September and now have a total of 243 acres. This was a major accomplishment because we are now assured that no one will be building houses on the property and creating problems for us. Our first notes on the 30 acres will be paid with this year s budget and the second notes for the 78 acres will be paid in the next two years. We will then need to continue our monthly payment for the balance of the terms, which was originally 12 years. I am asking for all our members to consider a tax deductible Land Fund Donation. The sooner we get the bonds paid off the sooner we can go forward with our plans to build an additional indoor pistol range. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this very important matter! Yes Skip, you can count on me. Land Fund Pledge Card Name Address Phone Number Check one: $20.00 $50.00 $100.00 Other Amount Please return your pledge and check to PSA at PO Box 142, Palmyra, PA 17078 as soon as possible or drop it off at the club house. If you have questions, I will be glad to answer them. Please call me at the club at 717-832-0488. Thank you in advance to your prompt attention to this very important matter. Club Policies No exploding targets No self-sealing cube or square targets No bump firing or slide fire/ bump fire stocks These policies were passed by the membership at a club meeting due to safety concerns. The most important factor is to keep ALL shots on the back stop. No rounds can leave the range; keep this in mind when you are using any of the ranges. Please remember that gun safety and range safety is your responsibility. Trap (Clay Bird) Shooting By Bruce Meyerhoffer Tuesday evening continues from 4pm to about 7:30pm. All are welcome to shoot practice at clay birds. No league or competition on Tuesdays. Stop out early on Tuesday and get some additional instructions on shooting. Future ATA 100 target trap shoots are Labor Monday, September 1 and Sunday, October 5. If you cannot remember dates, go to our Web site and click on Shotgun Sports and then Trap. 2

Junior Rifle Team-Scrip Fundraising By Erin Gestl Now you can help the Junior Rifle Team raise money without buying unwanted items and with no extra cost to you. Supporting our organization has never been easier! How It Works: Scrip refers to gift certificates / gift cards. Our program is able to purchase the same gift cards that you would purchase from merchants nationwide but at a discount. Discounts range from 1-17%. The difference is profit for us. By purchasing these gift cards before you shop for your everyday items - like groceries, gas, clothes, restaurants - we raise money, without you having to spend a penny extra. It s just that simple. Example: You buy a Giant $100 gift card from us; we purchase it at $96 (a 4% discount). The Jr. team earns $4. How to Participate: We encourage you to take advantage of the wonderful benefits offered by this ongoing fundraiser. Simply return the Scrip order form, with your check, to any junior team member, coach, or to the club. If you have questions, please contact Shelley Gestl at (717) 832-3385 or sgestl@comcast.net. (NOTE: This is a new email address.) Help us exceed our goals, and thank you in advance for your support! Orders placed by the 5th of each month will be available at that month s club meeting. 4
