Item 249-04 Borden and Foster 1908, Robert Borden and George Eulas Foster postcard used from Shelburne N.S. to Stouffville. $45.00 SOLD Item 249-05 Sydney Smith MPP 1857, 3d Beaver (position B47) tied by target cancel from Montreal on folded cover to Sydney Smith MPP Cobourg CW. Smith was a lawyer and political figure in Canada West. He was born in Port Hope. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly for the West Northumberland. He served as Postmaster General and on the Board of Railway Commissioners from 1858 to 1862. In 1858, he negotiated arrangements with the United States, Britain, France, Belgium, and Prussia for mail service to Canada. SFC No content. $200.00

Item 249-06 3d Beaver Bank of Canada 1855, 3d Beaver (4 margins) tied by target cancel from Kingston on Bank of Canada folded letter to Hamilton. The letter from Henry Pellate. File fold affecting stamp. $150.00 Item 249-07 Studio glass 1902, 2 Numeral tied by Montreal M5 machine on Verreries de Jumet advertising cover to Halifax. Studio glass is also called contemporary glass art. Jumet is the famous manufacturers with their exhibition winning medals etc. Ex Hogg, Pinet. $150.00

Item 249-08 Triple charged fourth class 1929, 36 franking (of the Scroll issue) paying the 2-3 lb domestic interprovincial fourth class rate to Jasper Alberta (10 for the first pound plus 7 for each additional pound, plus 2 per pound for each provincial boundary crossed, not including the destination province). After arrival in Jasper, the parcel was returned to Uxbridge, Ontario and charged 36 postage due with O.K. all postage paid in manuscript. It was then redirected to Clinton, Ontario, and charged 20 for 10 for the first pound and 5 for each additional pound or fraction rate for all points in the same province outside a 25 mile radius. An incredible piece of postal history. $300.00
