The boys went further in the state bid than BF-DC has gone in the past. The boys started their championship run on February 11th by winning the Class A District Championship. The BF-DC Eagles played regionals in their own gym starting on February 16th against the Alex Longhorns. The boys lost a very disappointing game 40 to 55. The leading scorers for the Eagles were Trayon Hill with 12 points and Chris Clark with 8 points. The boys then came back and played February 17 th against Binger-Oney and won 60 to 39. The leading scorers for this game were Cameron Carter with 15 points and Max Blankenship with 12 points. Their next game was for the Consolation Championship against Lookeba-Sickles on February 18th. The boys won 68 to 62 to advance to the area tournament for the first time in 13 years. The top scorers were Cameron Carter with 25 points and Max Blankenship with 19 points. The Eagles played their Area games in Cache, Oklahoma starting on February 23rd against Union City. The boys played a great game and beat Union City 58 to 50. Leading scorers for the game were Cameron Carter with 20 points and Chris Clark with 12 points. Their second round game was against the Alex Longhorns. The Eagles came out prepared for a hard game and they played their hearts out. The game was a tight one and went into overtime. The Eagles won the game 58 to 56. Top scorers were Cameron Carter with 22 points and Chris Clark with 10 points. BF-DC played their final game in Area against Cyril. Sadly the Eagles lost 42 to 63 and Cyril went on to play in the state bracket. The high scorers for the Eagles were Cameron Carter with 17 points and Trayon Hill with 6 points. The Short Grass All Conference Coaches selected their All-Conference team on March 22nd. Cameron Carter missed being the MVP of the Conference by 1 vote (86 to 85). BF-DC had three players make the 12 player All Conference team. They are Cameron Carter, Trayon Hill, and Max Blankenship. Chris Clark was Honorable Mention All- Conference. The BF-DC Eagles practiced and played hard all season. They went farther in the championship bid than any other BF-DC team in the past. The boys were one of 12 teams out of 96 in Class A and finished their season with a record of 209. Will Rogers teachers and staff served breakfast to the boys basketball team as they prepared to play their first game in regionals. They will continue working on multiplication facts and division procedures. The students really struggle with these facts. FACTS, FACTS, FACTS they make the 4 th graders want to pull their hair out but they know it is necessary to have fact fluency. They are working on them constantly, promise!!!! Please, encourage a 4th grader when you see them. Ask them a few multiplication problems so they can respond with the correct answer. Bring it On!! The 4 th graders challenge you to stump them. Science, they can tell you the parts of a stream, the effects of organic and nonorganic components in the flow of water and construction of a dam to contain water. They have some amazing dam building skills. They can flood and retain water in the 4th grade. Ask any 4th grader...what does a conservationist do or maybe a hydrologist? Medasia Rohan Movie Review The movie Moana is about a girl who is the next chief of her tribe but would rather sail the ocean and travel. But because of an evil force that is causing the island to become un-farmable and threatens the tribes survival she must venture to find a demigod named Maui and have him return the stone to the heart of the island and restore the life on all of the islands. I thought this was a very good movie, and it s great for viewers of all ages. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Book Review The Ugly series is a series that I recommend to anyone who is interested in Science Fiction. The series includes four books that are about people who are ugly, and live in the ugly town. When these people reach a certain age, they have a plastic surgery to make them pretty, so they can go live in the pretty town. One girl breaks the rules, because she doesn t want to be pretty anymore after she learns the cold truth about them. Medasia Rohan Book Review In Suzanne Collins s book The Hunger Games you are taken into a world where people are forced to fight to the death for national entertainment. Katniss Everdeen of District 12 has been chosen for the 75 th Annual Hunger Games along with Peta Malarck, someone who helped her a long time ago and has not forgotten it. You follow along as they find their values, strength, and love. A story of refuge and power, this book is a great read for anyone who loves a strong female lead and the idea of fighting the system.
