INSTRUCTORS: ADVANCED LIVE FIRE INSTRUCTOR COURSE TBD CSAT, NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS PAUL HOWE Paul Howe/CSAT will instruct a five-day ADVANCED LIVE FIRE INSTRUCTOR COURSE in NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS. Paul s training history can be found at This class instructs students on the safe management of Live Fire Close Quarter Battle for single, two-person and team for both Tactical and Range personnel in and around the shoot shooting house. The course will address the following major topics: 3-5 Person (Team) CQB Safe set-up Multi-team CQB Surgical shooting (Rifle/Pistol) Corner Clears Training methodology Hallways Single Person CQB Flash bang employment 1-2 Person CQB Medical Emergencies Low Light Window Ports Lateral Fire and Maneuver Forward Fire and Maneuver This course will focus on the safety fundamentals required to execute this training along with students demonstrating proficiency in performing the skills. Students will be tested with 3 classroom quizzes and several hands-on training scenarios. Finally, students will be required to set-up and train fellow students in live fire CQB under instructor supervision. A 70% pass rate will be required to successfully complete the course. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: None EQUIPMENT NEEDED: All normal tactical equipment including rifle, pistol, vest, helmet, eye and ear protection to include a paintball mask. This course is not for the novice SWAT Officer. Basic SWAT or equivalent is a prerequisite for this course. This will cover both SWAT missions and Active Shooter Response. On day 1, instructors will be assigned a block of instruction to be delivered to new students on day 5-6 which will be graded. A comprehensive list of units/departments Paul has trained can be found at This class instructs students on the safe management of Live Fire Close Quarter Battle training for both Tactical and Range personnel in the standard shooting house. The course will address the following major topics: 3-5 Person (Team) CQB Safe set-up Multi-room CQB Surgical shooting (Rifle/Pistol) Multi-team CQB Training methodology Multi-Breach Point CQB Single Person CQB Flash bang employment 1-2 Person CQB Medical Emergencies This course will focus on the safety fundamentals required to execute this training. Students will be tested with 3 classroom quizzes and several hands-on training scenarios. Finally, students will be required to set-up and train fellow students in live fire CQB under instructor supervision. A 70% pass rate will be required to successfully complete the course. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: None EQUIPMENT NEEDED: All normal tactical equipment including rifle, pistol, vest, helmet, eye and ear protection. Bring inclement weather gear as required. Paul s training history can be found at This class instructs students on the safe live fire execution of single, two-person and team tactics for patrol officers. The course will address the following major topics: Vehicle Bailouts Vehicle Fire and Maneuver Single, 2 person and small team Rifle and pistol calibration Disturbance Calls Hallway Contacts Medical Exterior Contact Corner Clears Forward Fire and Maneuver Lateral Fire and Maneuver Window, Door, Garage Contacts Discrimination This course will focus on officer survival in ambush type situations from single officer, two officer to a small team. We will discuss how to push, move, hold and fall back in the class. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Good Physical shape. Short sprints will be done during the training. EQUIPMENT NEEDED: All patrol equipment including rifle, pistol, vest, eye and ear protection. Recommend rifles be zeroed at 100 yard, if not you will have time in the class to zero.
