Welcome to Wheeling Country Club Since the founding of Wheeling Country Club in 1902, we have been proud to provide our members with first class leisure activities and social amenities. Perched on Country Club Hill, the clubhouse over looks a beautiful and challenging eighteen hole golf course. The Club offers something for everyone in the family. This includes golf outings, swimming, tennis, dinner dances and many other special events held throughout the year. The primary activity at Wheeling Country Club is golf. The rolling hills and wooded areas provide a scenic backdrop, as well as placing a premium on accuracy and consistency of drives due to relatively narrow landing areas, small greens and some slope. After golf, amenities include nicely furnished locker rooms and a cozy grill room to discuss the tremendous drive over your favorite refreshment. If golf is not your game, the Club also offers tennis, swimming and social activities. We offer two well-maintained Har-Tru tennis courts during the season. Although, if relaxing is what you are looking for, there is a heated swimming pool with life guards on duty and a child s wading pool. Banquet and Dining The club allows for many different dining choices. Elegant and intimate, our dining facilities offer member and their guests a variety of delicious meals. Our dining room is open Wednesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. The lower grill is open Tuesday through Sunday. Please call ahead for lunch and dinner reservations. Throughout the month the Club offers buffets, chef s features and a variety of other menu items. There are special events throughout the year ranging from a 4 th of July cookout with fireworks, brunch with Santa Claus, Memorial Day picnic, Annual Eggnog Party, New Year s Eve candlelight dinner and many more social activities. Members are informed of Club events through our monthly newsletter and special invitations. We also do a weekly update via email. Our spacious and charming banquet facilities plays host to a wide variety of dining possibilities- from a bridge group 0f 8 to an elaborate reception of 200. Our dedicated and experienced staff will work with you until all the details meet or exceed your expectations. Our menu items can be tailored to accommodate any banquet or event you wish to have. Our chefs and kitchen staff will work with you until the menu is perfect. Our banquet menus are prepared to serve your entire entertaining needs with years of experience and a reputation for excellence. Wheeling Country Club also host meetings and seminars in an out of the office atmosphere. Audio/Visual equipment is available. Take advantage of our lunch or dinner menus to top off the day. Golf Information Scenic 18 holes adjacent to Oglebay Park, set in a lush wooded area. Course rating for men 69.2 and for women is 70.7. Slope rating for men 121 and for women 115. Golf season runs from April 1 st to October 31 st. Off-season is from November 1 st to March 31 st. Driving range is open April through October. Fully stocked golf shop is open during the season and ran by our head golf professional Jason Martin. If a few golf pointers is what you need our Golf Pro, is on hand to help with all your questions. He is also available for private golf lessons. You may call the golf shop at 304-232-2020. Wheeling Country Club follows the USGA handicap system. All scores from all courses must be posted April 15 th to September 30 th. Men s and ladies associations schedule various tournaments throughout the year for a small entry fee. Club events include Member-Guest, Mixed Foursomes and Holiday Tournaments. We also have men and women s locker rooms and golf club storage for an annual fee is $55 plus tax. Golf carts, weather permitting, are available on first come basis and cannot be reserved in advance. All carts are to be driven paths where available and should be kept 50ft from all greens. Pull carts are permitted on the course. Our dress code requires men to wear a golf shirt with a collar and sleeved. No one is allowed to wear jeans on the course. Proper footwear must be worn, preferable soft spikes. Members are permitted to bring guests but please notify the golf shop in advance. Members are responsible for their guest in all aspects. Corporate A corporation can have a membership in any category with a minimum of 5 members who are considered full-time employees. They receive a 15% discount on dues and assessments of each membership. *Any golf membership age 40 or older are required to purchase a share of stock ($2,000)
