Our Mini Mites Team is intended for our young dancer/acrobat (ages 4-7 years) that desires to demonstrate their talent in a competitive fashion. Our Team commits to participating in the nation s elite dance competitions in preparation for college scholarships, college enrollment distinction, a professional career in dance or the simple desire to maximize their dance/acrobat talent. At EXPRESS we are a family of dancers/acrobats ranging from 4-19 years of age. Being a member of the Performance, Showcase or Mini Mites Team is a yearlong commitment. The following information will help you and your child to understand what is expected of you as part of our Team. SUMMER CLASSES 2017 (RECOMMENDED): TIME COMMITMENT Tuesdays: 5:00-6:00pm- July 11, 18, 25, August 1, 8, 15 Tuition: $75 2017-18 CLASSES (SEPTEMBER-JUNE) FUNDAMENTAL CLASSES (2): are intended to improve upon technique, strength, agility and poise. 1. Combination Ballet & Technique Class (45 minutes per week) 2. Acrobatics Class (45 minutes per week) GROUP CLASSES: Mini Mites members perform in 2 groups. These are competition groups and a costume will be needed for each of these dances. o Each group can run between 30-45 minutes each per week. o The groups can be any of the following styles: Acro, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Open (a combination of two dances) and Tap. o The studio directors/teachers will select the style of dance and size of group they feel is best for your child. Weekly Dance Schedule o The 2017-2018 dance schedules will be available on August 31, 2017. o Group classes as well as Fundamentals can start as early as 4:00PM. o Mini Mites will be scheduled no more than 2 days per week. VACATIONS: There are NO CLASSES scheduled for April School Vacation. Classes will be held on Monday holidays.
February Vacation Classes are strongly encouraged for team members. There is no additional tuition for this week of lessons. We are close to the competitive season at this point and are preparing groups accordingly. PERFORMANCES: SNEAK PEEK Team Show: Before our competition season gets underway all team members perform for their friends and family during this show. This performance is usually held in early January. Our competitive group numbers are revealed in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. This performance helps to ease our dancers nervous jitters and get excited about the upcoming competitive season. ANNUAL DANCE RECITALS: RECREATIONAL Recitals: During the three recreational dance recitals select team group dances will perform in one or two shows on a Saturday in May (date to be determined). Team families are not allowed to purchase tickets for the recreational recitals, as they are usually sold out. TEAM Recital: Held the Sunday following the Saturday Recreational recitals. All Team Group dances are in this recital. COMPETITIONS: Regional Dance Competitions: o A schedule of 3 regional competitions will be provided in September. Typically we attend one competition during the months of March through May. o Regional Competitions are generally.5-2 hours away in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. o They are scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays. It is important to keep the whole weekend clear although you may only need to be there one day. o You will not receive the time your dances are scheduled until one week before the scheduled event. o Mini Mites will NOT attend a National Competition. ATTENDANCE: All team members must attend all practices, competitions and performances. Committing to these events is a huge part of being a team participant and arriving in a timely manner is necessary. Competitions for the 2017-2018 dance year will be announced in the fall. Choreography for competition dances is created based on the number of students in the class. When students are unable for any reason to participate, it is a hardship to others to relearn spacing and/or choreography as well as the teacher to have to rechoreograph a part or entire dance. We recognize life happens, i.e. death, illness, Religeous commitment. Please inform us immediately if you are have a conflict. Snow Days: Information will be posted on the answering machine 508-478-9222 as well as an email. FINANCIAL COMMITMENT REGISTRATION/OPERATIONAL FEE 2017: All team members must have a current registration form on file with EXPRESS Dance & Acrobatics that includes updated E-mail and telephone numbers. All information must be kept up to date. Any changes of phone, address, and email or payment information must be emailed to: expressdanceandacro@gmail.com ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE is $25.00 per team member. The registration fee is non-refundable. OPERATIONAL FEE: is $25.00 per team member. o The operational fee covers costs associated with competitions, but not limited to, staff, props, transportation of props, and travel expenses.
o The Operational fee must be received by August 1-7 before a student can be enrolled in any fundamental classes or group dances. TUITION: Please be aware that tuition is based on a 10 Month dance school year (Sept-June). Monthly tuition fee remains the same regardless of weeks in the month, school vacation closings, or the number of absences in a month. Monthly tuition covers Team fundamental classes and group classes. MONTHLY TUITION: $90.00 o Tuition is due within the first week of every month. o Account statements will be e-mailed within the first week of the month. o A LATE FEE of $15.00 will be automatically charged if payment is not received by the 15 th of the month. o EXPRESS strongly suggests a credit card be put on file at the time of registration to be charged when tuition is not received by the 15th of each month to avoid late fees. A "Credit Card Authorization Form" is included in this registration packet. o Ask about our family discount. RETURNED CHECKS will be charged a $20.00 fee. COMPETITION ENTRY FEES: Each competition charges entry fees. The average cost for each competition: Group: $45.00 COSTUMES: The average price of a costume per group is $80.00. A deposit of $40.00 per costume will be made in month of September. The balance will be made in October.
