Media Information Credentials Members of the media who wish to cover NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races must obtain event media credentials from the individual race tracks holding the events. Credentials are issued to individuals who are on assignment only. Requests for credentials for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races must be submitted to the public relations director or credentials coordinator at the race track holding the event at least six weeks prior to the event. Some larger races have a deadline of two months. Requests must be on company letterhead of the media outlet, and must be written by either the sports editor or managing editor for print media, or sports director or station manager for electronic media. The letter must list the names and duties of all individuals for whom credentials are being requested. Most race tracks will send out a credential confirmation to media outlets. However, members of the media should confirm their credentials by telephone prior to the week of the race if they do not receive a written confirmation. Credentials are issued at the tracks and must be signed for by the individual for whom the credential is issued. Photo identification is required. Hot Pass A hot pass is necessary for all NASCAR Sprint Cup races, but is only required for two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events both races at Martinsville Speedway. Otherwise, all other NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events are cold. A hot pass allows the holder access into the garage and pit areas during hot times. A hot pass by itself will not allow the holder access; it must be accompanied by a credential issued by NASCAR or a track. Media members who have a NASCAR-issued credential commonly referred to as a hard card will not need a hot pass for garage/pit area access. Those possessing a hard card will have access during hot and cold times. Other credentialed media who do not possess a hard card must request a hot pass when submitting their credential request. A hot time for the garage area is defined as a period beginning 30 minutes before any on-track race-car activity, and ending approximately 10 minutes after that activity. All other times are considered cold. A hot time for the pits is defined as a period beginning 30 minutes before the start of a race, and ending approximately one hour after the race ends. Please note that hot times are subject to change and may vary over the course of the season. Strobe-like lights are prominently positioned throughout the garage area to signify hot times. Event Coverage Members of the media will find work areas at all tracks in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Some tracks have larger media work areas than others, but members of the media who are filing on deadline have space priority at all tracks. Representatives from NASCAR Integrated Marketing (IMC) will be at all events in 2014. At all events, members of the media may obtain entry lists that include a list of truck numbers, race teams, drivers and hometowns. All efforts are made to ensure that the lists are updated as much as possible. Current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver and owner point standings and notes of interest also are available. Following all practice sessions, NASCAR issues practice reports that list the speeds for all trucks participating in that session. At the conclusion of qualifying sessions, NASCAR will issue a qualifying report listing all cars that participated in the session. Race starting line-ups also will be released. Additionally, efforts will be made for the pole winner, as well as the 7

Media Information second- and third-fastest qualifiers, to be available to the media as soon as possible following the session. When the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series holds qualifying and races on the same day, the pole winner, second and third-place qualifiers and top rookie (if having qualified in the top 10) are normally NOT asked to report to the media center following the session. They WILL, however, report when qualifying and the race are held on different days. If there is a compelling storyline or any media requests following same-day qualifying and race events, efforts will be made to bring the pole winner to the media center as soon as possible following the session. If there are similar requests for the second-and-third place qualifiers and top-qualifying rookie (if having qualified in top 10), NASCAR IMC will attempt to secure those drivers for availability following the qualifying session. Following each event, a race rundown and unofficial results are distributed. The rundown will include the finishing order, along with laps completed, money won, lap leaders, cautions and time and speed information. Qualifying results, practice results, entry lists, race results and statistical notes also are available on NASCARMedia.com as soon as they are released. At all events, the race winner and second and thirdplace finishers will visit the infield media center as soon as possible after the race to meet with members of the media. Typically, pit notes and driver quotes are made available to the media by the track staff. All NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events are covered by the Associated Press (AP), which issues a race story and agate of the finishing results. Members of the media needing this information should contact AP directly. The agate also is available on NASCARMedia.com. All NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races are covered by the NASCAR Wire Service. These race stories also are available on NASCARMedia.com. To receive NASCAR Wire content, free of charge, please contact Herb Branham at hbranham@nascar.com Weekend Trackside Report books, which have up-to-date season statistics and in-depth information for that week s race, are available at the track from NASCAR Integrated Marketing representatives. These books also are available in PDF format on NASCARMedia.com. Post-Race NASCAR issues an official race report on Monday following every NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. This report includes the official race results, money won, driver point standings, owner point standings and other information. Track Attire The following guidelines have been established for media desiring access to the garage areas and pits during cold times at all NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events. Shirts and pants; dresses; and/or skirts and blouses are required. Shoes are required. The following are permitted: shorts, short sleeve or sleeve-less shirts and blouses, and open-toed shoes. If you are a photographer working pit road, you are required to wear long pants and closed toe shoes. 8 NASCAR Teleconference, NASCAR Cam NASCAR teleconferences and NASCAR Cam video teleconferences typically will be held on Tuesdays throughout the season. They will feature drivers and other newsmakers from NASCAR. Both are open to all qualified media, and the media s cooperation in not providing or publishing the call-in number to the general public once it is distributed is greatly appreciated. NASCAR Integrated Marketing will distribute an advisory via e-mail with pertinent information on each teleconference prior to the call. For more information, contact NASCAR Integrated Marketing.
