GREATER DAYTON CORVETTE CLUB (GDCC) Minutes November 15, 2017 President Freddie Haugh called the meeting to order. Thirty-six members were in attendance. GUESTS: The Club welcomed: Jack Hickman, owner of a 2008 Velocity Yellow 3Lt coupe. Jack is a member of GDCC and this was his first meeting. Wayne Holland, owner of a 2006 Black Z06. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Freddie thanked Gail and Russ Hodge for hosting the dinner out in October to Bag of Nails. The food was good and so was the member turnout. VICE PRESIDENT: Bob Haugh called for the following committee reports: SECRETARY S REPORT: Larry Kopa motioned dispensing with reading of the October minutes. Steve Stoker seconded. TREASURER S REPORT: Herbie Smith provided the report. Herbie also received a thank you letter from Direct Relief for the Club s donation of $1000.00 for victims of the hurricane in Puerto Rico. SOCIAL: Donna Tucker recapped the following events: November 17: Dinner out (6:00 p.m.) at the Amber Rose, Valley Street, Dayton OH hosted by Donna and Dan. December 6: Dinner out at Carvers, Centerville OH, hosted by Donna and Dan. More information to follow. April 25-29: National Corvette Museum (NCM) Bash, Bowling Green KY. Donna has blocked 10 rooms at the America s Best Value Inn for $89.60 (includes tax) which can be booked now. NCM registration will open in January 2018. She will provide information to Mike Jones to disseminate additional details. June 21-23: Trip to Lexington KY to visit distilleries and horse farms. More information to follow. Donna is looking for members to host a dinner out for October, November, and December. MEMBERSHIP: Carol Tavener reported that we currently have 141 members.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: No report. EDITOR/ WEBMASTER: No report. NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM (NCM) AMBASSADOR: Tom Brooks said that he has raffle tickets for a 2018 white exterior/red interior 2LT. The tickets are $10.00 each and the car will be raffled at the NCM in February 2018. Tom said that he and Star attended the two day Ambassador s Convention at the Museum. Some of the highlights are: They were able to take a trip around the track in a new Corvette following a pace car. Star drove a new turbo Camaro around the track. They drove go karts around the track. Information concerning NCM insurance was discussed. Benefits for our Club members if all members are a member of NCM. Tom will provide more information that will be disseminated through a Club distribution. President s Corner: Old Business Freddie has name tags for those who ordered one but haven t received theirs yet. She sent a thank you note to the Springboro Christmas Parade staff thanking them for inviting our Club to participate in the parade and also informed them that our Club was unable to attend this year. New Business Freddie stated that she would read the duties (according to the Constitution) of the president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer as at this evening s meeting nomination of officers will occur. Steve Stoker motioned to dispense with the reading of the duties. Seconded by Tom Murph. Freddie opened the floor for nominations. Carl Durbin motioned that the current officers remain in their respective position. However, Bob Haugh said that he would like for someone else to assume the vice-president duties. After a brief conversation, Bob decided he would remain as vice-president. Freddie (president), Herbie (treasurer), and Terri (secretary) all agreed to remain in their appointed positions. At the December meeting we will decide which charities the Club would like to make a donation. Larry Kopa said that veterans with at least two years of service time with an honorable discharge can now order on-line from the military Base Exchange.
