President s Message Good Day all, hope you had a relaxing, enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday with your families. As I mention every year at this time of Holiday celebration it's all about your families and friends. Take the time to enjoy your family and freinds. During the meeting I took some time to recollect this past year as our car club activities. Here are the 2017 Reflections. 1) Friday February 24th the Classic Car Trivia Night. Janet Bardle assembled a gift tool box for give away for the Children Cancer Society benefit table. 2) Early April the club had 16 cars display for the cover and center fold for the May edition JWO Salute to First Responders edition. That was a pleasure to gather for this worthy cause with the first responders. 3) Sunday April 16th Horseless Carriage Club Concourse DeElegance Easter car show as we had 11 cars display. 4) Saturday May 6th we gathered for the 1st Frisco Hill Auto Body spring car show. 5) Saturday June 10th Kirkwood Route 66 Cars and Guitars event. We had 13 cars display and 17 members eat dinner together. 6) Friday through Sunday June 15th-17th Oldsmobile Homecoming in Lansing Michigan, a 1100 mile trip, with 27 members attending. 7) July 18th through 23rd OCA Nationals at Albuquerque New Mexico. We had 28 members attend. 8) Saturday August 5th Memories on Main Street Car Show. We had 50 members volunteer this day for the good of the club. Thank you again who volunteered. 9) Monday August 12th the Total Eclipes of the Sun at Don and Donna's home. Plus lunch. A one of a kind event. 10) Saturday August 19th Overstreet House of Cars tour. 11) Saturday September 16th Rods on the River Car Show at the Polstar Marina. 12) Sunday September 17th Shriners Benefit Car Show. We had 18 volunteers work this day for the benefit of Shriner's Children charity. 13) Sunday September 24th All Oldsmobile Fun Show 14) Saturday October 7th Missouri Baptist Hospital Car Show for the benefit of the St. Louis United Way. President s Message (cont. from previous page) 15) Sunday October 8th Archway Olds Club annual Picnic at Faust Park. 16) Saturday October 14th Knights of Columbus Immaculate Conception Church Car Show as we had 16 cars registered and 20 members attend. We won club participation at this event. 17) Saturday October 21st Save the Water Tower Car Show we had 10 cars registered. 18) Sunday December 10th our 2017 Christmas Brunch at Andrea's South. Hope you registered. 18 events this year for the Archway Club. Many events had 20 or more attend and that is saying something about this car club. A very active car group. Thank you all for your continued participation. 2018 Archway Club Officers and volunteers have stayed in place with Butch stepping up to be the Memories on Main Street Head Judge for 2018. All officers and other club duties volunteers all stayed in place. Thank all of you for your continued support for the benefit of our club. It was decided at the last meeting that the members wish to stay at the same picnic location for 2018 so we will be having our annual club picnic at Faust Park again. It is time for the collection of 2018 Club renewals. Please look for the 2018 Club renewal application in this newsletter. Please fill out the renewal sheet completely and mail into the club post office in Imperial asap. Also keep an eye out for your OCA renewal date so you are not dropped from the national club. 2018 OCA Club Officers will be voted for very soon so keep attention to the nominees available for your club president and South Central Zone Director and Great Lakes Zone Director in your JWO magazine and vote. Welcome new member Frank Miller who has kept his originally purchased 1971 Cutlass. How many can say that?
