Wacky Olympic Games Saturday, August 9 11 am 1 pm Eagle Harbor Soccer Complex $20 per team All Ages Get your family and friends together for Eagle Harbor s version of the Olympic Games! We put our own wacky twist on archery, discus, javelin, cycling, running and other games featured at the Olympics. The team with the most points wins eternal glory and free admission to a fall recreation event of each team member s choice. Take a break after the games and make your way to the Swim Park for an awards ceremony at 7 pm. We ask that teams consist of 3-6 participants (at least one adult per team/family). Each team will represent the country of their choice. Reserve your spot and country of choice with payment at the Waterfront Park by August 4. GO FOR THE GOLD!!! Cookout and Wacky Olympics Award Ceremony Saturday, August 9 5-8pm Swim Park Eagle Harbor residents, please join us for a classic barbeque cookout featuring pulled pork, grilled corn on the cob, baked beans and more! The Wacky Olympics Award Ceremony will take place at 7 pm! The 25th annual National Night Out, a crime prevention event sponsored by the Association of Town Watch is scheduled for Tuesday, August 5, 6-9 pm. The Clay County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) and the Eagle Harbor Neighborhood Watch encourage all neighborhoods to take part. Your participation can be as simple as gathering for fun and fellowship or as extensive as a barbecue or covered dish dinner. The idea is to encourage neighbors and local law enforcement to get to know each other better. Registration with the CCSO (Deputy Keith Smith, ksmith@claysheriff.com, Tuesday, August 5 6 9 pm phone 213-6121), is necessary to receive the freebies provided by the CCSO and our local Target store. Local law enforcement officers are assigned to visit your area based on your registration information.contact your Neighborhood Captain to find out how you can help. Through hands-on activities, interactive video, and lively discussions the course teaches young people how to care for children and infants, be good leaders and role models, make good decisions and solve problems, keep the children they babysit and themselves safe, handle emergencies such as injuries, illnesses and household accidents, and write resumes and interview for jobs. Adult CPR with AED and First Aid Saturday, August 23 9 am-2 pm Waterfront Park $65 Trains lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults. Participants will learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for adult victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Class size is limited. The Clay County Fire Department Sunday, August 17 Swim Park Looking for a fun way to teach your children about pool and fire safety? Maybe learn a few new things for yourself, too? The Clay County Fire Department will be here to talk about pool safety, 911 procedures, home and fire safety. The firefighters are bringing their truck to let the children spray water. The Board approved for $200 of the General Fund to be used for the installation of posts for No Motorized Scooters or Golf Carts on Sidewalk signs. District Manager Items The Board approved the agreement between Hampton Golf and the District for Operational and Maintenance of Golf Course, Clubhouse and Recreational Facilities; and the agreement between Tree Amigos and the District to provide landscape maintenance services and other maintenance services. The Board did not approve for staff to advertise the Sales Center s Availability to Rent and requested staff to further research the market value of the Sales Center building. The Board approved the letter to the Clay County Transportation Committee regarding the intersection between Eagle Harbor Parkway and Town Center Boulevard. The Board motioned and approved to increase the Reserve Assessment by $24 for Fiscal Year 2008-2009. The Board approved the letter to residents regarding the Transition. Staff presented Department Updates and Monthly Status of Open Items tasked to GSG. Finance Items The Board did not approve the $12,500 request for payment for labor cost to East/West Partners; the Board motioned to offer East/West Partners $6,250 for work towards CCUA coordination for April 2008 to September 2008. The Board approved the Engagement Letter with Nowlen, Holt & Miner, P.A. for the Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Audit. Staff presented the May 2008 Financial Statement, Bond Requisitions, Bank Reconciliations, Check Register and Balance Sheet. Eagle Harbor is comprised of six separate HOA s. Each HOA board is responsible for enforcing specific Covenant and Restrictions for their respective neighborhood(s). Covenant and Restrictions are enforced by three separate entities: HOA, ARC (Architectural Review Board) and the CDD (Community Development District). Lakes/Ponds Eagle Harbor residents enjoy the beauty of many lakes throughout the community. These lakes were created for everyone s enjoyment however please remember that that they also abut personal property owned by residents whose property may back up to the lake. PR033A We wouldn t think of going into someone s backyard without asking or receiving permission from the owner. Lake banks that abut personal property should be treated in the same manner. Individual residential owners are allowed signs for a candidate or political issue that are no larger the three square feet and no taller then four feet and they must be at least five feet from any property line.
