PARENTS: Tardies: After 8:00 A.M. students are tardy. Parents must come into the school office with their child to sign the student in and obtain a tardy pass so the student may attend class. Three (3) tardies equals one (1) absence. During dismissal, while waiting to be picked up, the students are asked to do one of the following: Homework assignments Read a novel Study vocabulary Read poetry These activities allow the students to remain quiet, orderly, and focused on academics. It allows the attendants calling names to be heard. It allows the supervisors to assist students as they leave, versus having to discipline those that are disruptive. We ask that parents help to reinforce the value of using time wisely and taking every opportunity to complete assignments, improve vocabulary, and read. After 5:00 P.M. parents must pick up students from the school office. Birthday party celebrations with food are prohibited during the school day. Parents are asked to share party favors (pencils, erasers, toys) at the end of the day to celebrate birthdays rather than food.
