p SRD Special Events Y Valentines Dance February 18, 2012 7-11pm Come join SRD and the Strawberry Community Dance group for a lovely evening of live music and dancing. Enjoy the music of the Nob Hill Sound as you dance the night away. Doors open at 7pm with free ballroom dance lessons at 7:15. The live band begins at 8pm and will keep you moving late into the night! Fee: $10 per person / $9 Dance Members SRD Camp Night March 1, 2012 5-7:30pm Meet over 70 different camp vendors at SRD Camp Night featuring local day camps, sleep away camps, adventure camps and more! Speak one on one with camp representatives to assist in choosing the right 2012 summer program. Join REI for some fun and games. This is a event with door prizes, a jump house, food vendor and more. Come join the fun! Fee: EVENT St. Patrick s Day Tea March 14, 2012 9:45-11am Come join SRD for a morning of Celtic music from Michael the Great Pretender. Sip on a lovely cup of tea and snack on little cookies and cakes. This performance will be held after the Wednesday morning aerobics class, so mark your calendar and join us for a morning Irish- American tradition. Fee: EVENT f SRD Spring Faire April 7, 2012 10-12:30pm Bounce, hop and jump into the season with SRD s annual Spring Faire. Play carnival games, decorate spring bags, ride the train and bounce in the jump house. Then follow the bunny to the candy hunt! This event will go on rain or shine! Fee: $8 per child (adults are free) Strawberry Festival June 10, 2012 11:30am-4pm Mark your calendar it s Strawberry Festival! Join SRD in building a better community environment through our local parks and recreation. Enjoy local musicians and food vendors, free carnival games, family races and more. Come play with the little fuzzy friends in the petting zoo, bounce in the jump house, climb the rock wall, hit the target on the dunk tank and enjoy a free swim at the SRD pool! Fee: EVENT 4th of July Pancake Breakfast July 4, 2012 8-10:30am Southern Marin fire Department and SRD are bringing the community together with a perfect start to your Independence Day celebration. Come meet firefighters while you enjoy a delicious and hearty Pancake Breakfast! This is a fundraiser for the SRD Master Plan. This is also a terrific volunteer opportunity for our local community! Give us a call at (415) 383-6494 Join Strawberry Recreation District for a fun night amongst the stars! We will enjoy a variety of movies so bring blankets, family and friends and join us for a wonderful time on the field! Popcorn and refreshments will be available for purchase. SRD Preschool Special Events World Of Wonders (WOW!) Strawberry Recreation District s WOW! World Of Wonders is a special event series for children under 6 years of age and their families. WOW! provides both a social and physical development opportunity for each child. WOW! combines entertainment, art and cultural education in a fun filled and engaging format. Mark your calendars for the 2012 World Of Wonders events. The fee is $8 and includes arts and craft, entertainment, games and Jumping Jacks. All WOW! events will be from 10:30am-12pm in the 2nd Floor Gymnasium. Day Date WOW! Fee: $8 per child (no charge for adults) Halloween Faire October 29, 2012 Jumping Jacks Indoor Play Indoor Drop-In Play ~ Mondays & Fridays Time: 10:30am to 12pm Age: Children under 5 with adult supervision Location: Gymnasium (2nd Floor) Fee: $5 per child / $8 per family drop in Or get a pre-paid card: 10 Passes for $50 (Individual) / $80 (Family) Obstacle courses, climbing structures, slides, push, pull and riding toys and a new Jump house are available to explore. A wonderful opportunity to build social skills through active movement and play. Program is ongoing September through mid-may. Aquatics Wet & Wacky Wednesday Special Youth Events Select Wednesdays during the summer SRD will host friendly races and water activities for youth pass holders and Camp Strawberry CITs to participate in. Come join us at the pool for an hour of games and fun including coin toss, wacky water polo, watermelon wrangle, cannonball contest, and more! Fee: for Pool Pass holders Guest with a pass holder $5 per person Day: Wednesdays Dates: 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, 7/25, 8/1 Times: 12:30-1:30pm Recommended age: 7-15yrs Note: Participants should be able to pass the deep water swim test to participate for their own safety. Participation is limited to Pool Pass Holders and their guests. Guests must sign a waiver prior to participating in the days activity. + * + * Poolside Jam * + Enjoy local bands at the SRD pool. Bring a picnic and sit poolside or jump in the water and relax while listening to music. Arrive early as space is limited at these events! Please review pool rules prior to the event. For safety purposes alcohol and glass will not be allowed at the pool facility.
