2018 Newcastle Regional Show 2 3 4 March WELCOME We look forward to your participation and wish you well with your exhibits HOW TO ENTER You can enter any competition in the Newcastle Regional Show by simply undertaking the following: Read the Schedule it usually changes every year, therefore it is important that you read it thoroughly, including the conditions or regulations, making note of the relevant information, for example: Inclusion of a stamped addressed envelope, if required Inclusion of ANIMAL HANDLING PARTICIPANT RISK ACKNOWLEDGMENT & WIAVER Inclusion of Veterinary Certificates, if required Forward your entry form together with the appropriate entry fee to: Newcastle A.H. & I. Steward and other exhibitors during judging unless asked to do so. Entry to the Showground Exhibitors wishing to enter the showground during the running of the Show will pay normal gate prices unless otherwise specified in this schedule, or if the exhibitor is a member of the Association Vehicular access is permitted in the lead-up and following the Show via Australia Road Gate ONLY, for the delivery and collection of your exhibit/s. Vehicular access is permitted for animal exhibitors only during the Show Membership of the Association NAH&I Association is a not for profit, community based organisation. Membership runs from 1 July to 30 June. Standard member fees are Adult $25 and Junior $20. A benefit of being a member entitles you to purchase additional single entry tickets for guests at $10 for adult and $8 for concession and children. All additional tickets MUST be purchased by 28th February 2018. Please contact the Show Office to apply. BOER GOATS ENTRY FEE: $3.00 per animal per class except group classes which are $2.00 per group ENTRIES CLOSE: Friday 23rd February 2018 to allow for penning allocation JUDGING: 10 am on Sunday 4th March 2018 BOER GOATS TO BE ON THE GROUNDS BY 9.30 AM- ENTER VIA GATES ON AUSTRALIA ROAD, BROADMEADOW LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED ON THE DAY UP UNTIL 9.30 a.m. - However a late entry fee of $3.00 per entry above the normal entry will apply. Judge: Jessica Plant Chief Steward: Brett Gleeson Ring Steward: Ayala Davies Book Steward: Catherine Cunningham RULES AND REGULATIONS All enquiries regarding the schedule, please contact Ayala Davies on 49 198007 or davies@palmlake.net.au 1 Classes may be divided at the discretion of the Chief Steward in consultation with Judge. 2 All animals to be judged under BGBAA By-Laws and the Newcastle A. H. & I. Association Rules and Regulations, as well as being registered with other appropriate bodies. 3 All micro-chipped animals must be identified. Owner to provide scanner. 4 All entries received by the closing date will be allocated pens. 5 Five or more animals entered and pre-paid by one exhibitor by the closing date, will be allocated 1 free gate pass. A SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE MUST BE FORWARDED WITH ENTRIES. 6 Any person with four or less animals will pay normal gate entry fee. 7 Dustcoats or clothing carrying insignias or markings that may identify the exhibitor must not be worn by attendants parading exhibits before a judge. No stud signs permitted to be displayed prior to the start of judging. 8 Exhibitors are requested to refrain from conversing with the judge during judging, unless asked to do so. 9 All stock must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor, except in specified group classes. 10 Goats entered in any group or progeny class or special class must be entered in the respective age class. 11 All goats attending the Show must be negative for C.A.E.V., show no symptoms of Mycoplasmosis, Mastitis, Caseous Lymphadenitis, nor display obvious signs of external or internal parasites. 12 Johne s disease: No goats may be exhibited at Newcastle Regional Show unless from a stud /property for which a Goat Show Health Declaration has been submitted to the Secretary. See declaration in this Schedule. 13 C.A.E. Regulations: Separate pens will be provided for C.A.E. free animals, on production of a current vet. certificate (certificates not to be more than 6 months old) as proof. Please state on entry form if separate pens are required. 14 Footrot Regulations: Any animals coming from the quarantined areas of the State must produce proof of disease-free flocks and all entry forms must be signed by the exhibitor. Section A General Acknowledgement Agricultural Societies Council of New South Wales Limited and Newcastle AH&I Assoc Inc T/a Newcastle Regional Show (together the Suppliers) advise that participation (including passive participation) in animal handling or physical competitions or Events at an agricultural show contains elements of risk, both obvious and inherent. The handling of animals if applicable is a dangerous recreational activity as animals can act in a sudden and unpredictable way, especially when frightened or hurt. Physical competitions, activities and events of all types are dangerous recreational activities. 1. By signing this waiver I acknowledge that: 1.1 participation in the Event is a recreational service for the purposes of section 139A of the Australian Competition and Consumer Act (Cth) 2010, and also a recreational activity for the purposes of section 5K of the Civil Liability Act (NSW) 2002; 1.2 participation in the Event is a hazardous activity and involves a significant risk of physical harm and may result in injury, loss, damage or death to me; 1.3 participation in the Event requires certain skills and experience. I declare that I have sufficient skills and experience to be able to safely and properly participate in the Event; 1.4 if applicable to the Event, animals can act in a sudden and unpredictable ways, especially if frightened or hurt, or if exposed to loud or unfamiliar noises; 1.5 the Event will be held in close proximity to rides and large groups of people, and that there may be loud and unfamiliar noises which can frighten animals used in the Event, if applicable; 1.6 if the event is held outdoors, there are risks to me as a result of the weather conditions, including either extreme hot or cold weather, rain or wind; 1.7 insects or other animals may cause animals used in the Event, if applicable, to become frightened and act in an unpredictable way; 1.8 if the Event involves the handling of animals, there is a risk of suffering injury including injuries caused by animals; 1.9 I am responsible for ensuring that I have and will wear equipment suitable for my safety in my participation the Event; 1.10 I am responsible for the condition of any tools and equipment and ensuring that they are appropriate for the Event; and 1.11 I use the facilities supplied for the Event entirely at my own risk, as I find them and with the prior acceptance of the risk of possible danger to me. 2. If I suffer personal injury or death while participating in an animal handling event, I will not hold the Suppliers, their employees or agents legally responsible for any personal injury or death I suffer. I will not sue the Suppliers, their employees or agents for any claims, costs, damages or liability. I agree to release the Suppliers and their employees from legal responsibility for the services I have been provided and/or activity I have participated in. 3. I acknowledge and agree that my participation in the event and associated activities is dangerous and may have inherent risks as a result of which personal injury (and sometimes death) may occur. I acknowledge that the event and associated activities carry with them a significant risk of physical harm. I accept and assume all such risks of personal injury or death in anyway whatsoever arising from these activities and hereby waive my individual right to sue the Suppliers for all claims I may have for such personal injury or death against the Suppliers in any way whatsoever arising from or in connection with these activities.

4 At the time of participating in the Event, I have not been to any degree under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs. 5 I will not consume any alcohol or illicit drugs while participating in the Event and agree that such use may result in my being excluded from the Event or other events with no entitlement to any refund of money paid for entry to the Suppliers. 6 I agree to be bound by the rules and guidelines of the Suppliers as varied from time to time.
