PCA Summer Camp Descriptions 2017 American Girl Camp Grades: Rising 2-6 Instructor: SJ Pullias + $15 Materials Fee It s time to leave 2016 behind and head back to historical America alongside your favorite American Girl dolls! Each day you will travel to a different point in our country s history to experience life from the past. This will be a week of crafts, adventure, games, and stories for both you and your doll. At the end of our week we will have a tea party to celebrate all the fun we ve had together Boys Basketball Camp June 5-8 (Monday-Thursday), 8:30-2:00 Grades: Rising 2-9 Instructor: Coach Farrar Girls Basketball Camp June 19-22 (Monday-Thursday), 8:30-2:00 Grades: Rising 2-9 Instructor: Coach James Cost: $165 Our goal at camp is to improve each attendee in the fundamentals of basketball. Special attention will be given to the development self discipline, perseverance, determination, and having fun. Instructors will include former college players, current varsity high school players, and special guests. Cheer Camp June 26-30, 9am - 12pm Instructor: Terri Parker Assistant(s): PCA Varsity Cheer Squad Cost: $115 Join PCA Varsity cheerleaders for a week full of fun learning how to be a cheerleader. Girls will learn sideline chants, floor cheers, attend jump clinic, learn a dance routine, and have a performance at the end of the week in the main gym. Girls will also attend sign making class, pep rally planning and games, and participate in fun spirit themed days throughout the week! All campers will be invited to cheer at the first PCA pep rally of the school year! Each camper will receive a PCA cheer shirt, set of poms, and will come home with spirit sign and spirit stick by the end of the week. This is a camp your Junior Cheerleader will not want to miss! Cooking Camp Grades: Rising 4-8 Instructor: A. Wright + $15 material fee Food tastes better when shared with friends so come on and be a part of the Cooking Camp! Join Mrs. Wright at cooking camp, and learn how to make some fun, creative and delicious recipes. We will measure, mix, pour and decorate and of course sample our work. Cool Cat Camp June 5-9, 8:30-11:30

Go on a journey with one of our favorite book characters, Pete the Cat by Eric Litwin! We ll be reading & rocking to a new Pete the Cat book each day. We will follow Pete s shoes to different creation & imagination stations, ending the week at Pete the Cat s beach for a fun water day! The Dangerous Camp for Boys: Equal parts Indiana Jones, Tom Sawyer and MacGyver June 13-17, 8:30-11:30 Grades: Rising 5-8 Instructors: M. Jones, A. Wallace Cost: $140 The Dangerous Camp for Boys is for young men who want to find their sense of adventure; all but lost in this digital age. Hunt for treasure, tie knots and learn outdoor survival skills. Includes an overnight excursion. Disney Princess Camp Instructor: T. Parker At Princess camp, girls will not only discover their identity as a Princess in God's kingdom, but enjoy themed days as princesses such as Snow White, Ariel, Cinderella, and Anna & Elsa. Step into each of their worlds and enjoy crafts, games, snacks, and fun! The week will end with a royal ball fit for a princess including dancing and costumes! Dr. Seuss Camp Oh, The Places You ll Go during this fun-filled week of Dr. Seuss! Our silly Seuss activities will instill a love of rhyming and creativity as we practice summer reading skills. With crafts, snacks and games galore, this camp is sure to be a week that your camper will remember! FUN IN THE SUN/SON CAMP June 19-23, 8:30-11:30 Grades: Rising 1-2 Instructor: B. Dempsey Inside activities will focus on the SON and the SUN (Bible Stories and Crafts as well as science experiments) Outside activities will enjoy the sun (active play and science experiments) 8:30-8:45 Devotions-Son 8:45-9:15 Outside fun- sun 9:15-9:45 Science Centers -sun 9:45-10:00 Snack time 10:00-10:30 Outside Science experiments - sun 10:30-11:00 Story time-son 11:00-11:30 Craft-Son/Sun Games Games Games! Join us for a fun week filled with games! Board Games, Water Games and Playground Games are just a few of the fun things we will do throughout our week together! We will play some old familiar games as well as learn some new ones! Guitar Camp!! Grades: Rising 3-8 Instructor: M. Duke Dust off that guitar you've always wanted to learn how to play, and come get a quick, fun introduction to this amazing instrument! You will leave knowing how to play several chords, how to read a chord chart, a song sheet, and different strumming patterns. You will also learn of resources to help keep your music going in the future. Hip Hop Dance June 5-9, 8:30-11:30 Instructor: K. Horn During our hip hop dance camp your child will learn two fun and exciting hip hop dances as well as work with a team to create a performance ready costume. At the end of the week, your dancer will get to show off all he/she has done by giving a performance for family and friends. We are going to have a blast! I can't wait to see you there! Jewelry, Crafts, and More! Grades: Rising 1-6 Instructor: L. Nickens During Jewelry, Crafts, and More Camp, your child will enjoy using his or her creative side on a wide variety of projects throughout the week. There will be something for all crafters no matter what age or interest. We will use a variety of materials and mediums to make our own creations, crafting till our heart's content and simply having FUN!! LEGO Robotics Jr. Camp June 12-15 (Monday-Thursday), 12:00-3:00 Instructor: Dr J. Hearnes Calling all Master Builders! Using the new LEGO WeDo 2.0 Robotics System, the campers will explore the basics of building and programming robots to complete exciting engineering challenges! Messy Art Camp June 19-23, 12:00-3:00 Grades: Rising 1-3 May I...Paint with mud? Do some fly swatter art? Throw a paint ballon bomb? Use a spaghetti paint brush? Mom may say, "No, way!" at home, but we will say "Yes!" at Messy Art Camp! Old clothes, flip flops and beach towel needed each day...come dressed to make a mess!

PCSI - Providence Crime Scene Investigation June 19-23, 8:30-11:30 Grades: Rising 3-5 Instructor: L. Caney Do you have what it take to be a PCS Investigator? We will explore the field of forensic science as we discover a mock crime scene and collect and examine evidence. Investigators will learn about finger prints, dust for prints, and perform several experiments in our own crime lab. Join our investigative team and let s solve some crimes! Pinterest Party June 5-8, 8:30-11:30 Grades: Rising 3-8 Instructor: A. Stavnes Put your creativity into action! Each day will revolve around a different theme. Campers will love creating their snacks for the day, as well as several DIY projects. Rule The Galaxy Grades: Rising 4-8 Instructors: M. Jones, A. Wallace What happens when the game of Risk, Model United Nations and Star Wars Collide. - a hands-on political simulation in which players represent planetary systems (nations)and interact through economic, social and political crises while under the imminent threat of war. The goal of the game is to maneuver from dangerous circumstances and achieve prosperity throughout the Galaxy by any means necessary. Players will be challenged in a fun and engaging game that will allow them to explore moral and ethical decisions through a Christian worldview. Team Sports June 19-23, 12:00-3:00 Grades: Rising K-8 Instructor: A. Sheets, K. Carter Come join our Upper School Principal, Andy Sheets, and School of Logic teacher and coach, Kevin Carter, for an incredible camp session of team sports. We will spend time on skill development and competition in sports like: basketball, soccer, flag football, volleyball, baseball, ultimate frisbee, badminton, and more. Students will learn basic skills, enjoy healthy competition, and learn to work together as a team toward a common goal. Games will vary by day, weather, and group size. Students will be placed in age-appropriate groups. Each camp session will begin with devotion and prayer, and character and team-building will be emphasized throughout our time together. Please note: female students interested in skill development specific to basketball are strongly encouraged to attend the girls basketball camp led by Coach Tara James. Tennis Camp
