HAPPY 4TH OF JULY Y'ALL!!!! THANK YOU TO ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN THAT SERVED IN THE ARMED FORCES AND HELPED FIGHT IN THE DIFFICULT WARS TO MAKE US FREE AND HAVE US STAND FOR THE FLAG!!!!! I LOVE THIS CLUB AND ALL WE STAND FOR!!!! The people that are a part of us, members and visitors, are such amazing people and we have soooo much fun together laughing and enjoying each other's company!!! I'm sooo very thankful for each and every one of you!!!! Thank you for being a part of us!!!! June 29th will be one month since I started at Summit Racing!!! Being cross-trained for Customer Service and Cashier has been a great challenge (ed. note: not too much of a challenge, she has already been top employee a couple of times)...hope I will be at the front Information Desk soon...come by and visit anytime!!! Lydia The Cowtown Mopars breakfast club had a great turnout in June at Rudys.

In The Works Happy summer to all Mopar owners and club members. It s really getting hot outside, hope everyone can find a way to stay cool. June saw a great turnout for our monthly Rudy s breakfast as well as Pops Burger night. July will stay hot with some of the best chicken fried steak in Texas. Saturday July 21st we will cruise as a club to Strawn, Texas and Mary s Cafe for a late afternoon/early evening meal. Please watch the club website and Facebook for details on a meeting place and times. July 14th will be the monthly breakfast at Rudy s BBQ in Arlington at 9am. As of publication date, the much anticipated drive-in movie is not coming together as quickly as hoped for. Still working on it and planning to get it on the calendar. There are other activities in the works, and as always, if you have any ideas, please pass them along. Thank you as always for your support and coming out to the activities we have!! Watch the club website calendar and Facebook for upcoming activities, cruises, get togethers, dinners and breakfasts. Chris Club Members Your Car is the Star Have your car professionally photographed. One of our club sponsors, Photography by Lydia, has a special offer for club members only. You get: 1) Your desired location 2) Your unlimited props (plaques, mascots, small figurines such as diecast cars, flags, etc) 3) Unlimited time for the shoot 4) Full CD of every photo, originals and enhanced, with copyrights Contact: Photography by Lydia (see her card in our business pages)

Off The Wing by Barry Hansen The other day in the parking lot at 6pm the car thermometer registered 114 degrees. After a few miles of driving went down to 108 degrees. I'm thinkin' summer is here. Kurt Schuster and I both purchased two new canopies for the club to replace the ones stolen out of the trailer last year. This club means a lot to us, this is one way we can give back. Enjoy. Worth a read dept... The Art of Mopar by Tom Glatch, photos by Tom Loeser, published by Motorbooks. I was lucky enough to score an advanced copy of this book last fall when we had a chance to preorder. Had it for a while and finally opened it up. Wow. A coffee table size book of the Brothers Collection (no details given about them) of Mopar musclecars photographed beautifully inside and out to look like modern art. So professionally and artfully done each photo stands by itself. I find myself studying the pictures and picking up details I didn't notice before. An extensive collection, you probably will find your car in there. A great addition to any Mopar library. Available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble or Summit Racing. Speaking of Summit Racing...another Cowtown member on the payroll. Our esteemed president, Lydia, just joined customer service. Also spotted a late model yellow Ram pickup in the employee's lot with our big Cowtown Mopar decal in the back window. Turns out he is a fellow salesman and bought the truck from our own Mr. Lemon. Also at Summit Racing recently met several customers who run in the TMCCC. One said about three years ago he kept drawing our own Bobby Avis in semi-final or final rounds of about 6 different races that year. A life well lived dept...tom the Mongoose McEwen died in June. 81 long eventful years. Drove a lot of different makes in F/C and T/F but I remember him best for a string of Plymouths in those classes. He also pioneered early firesuit and top fuel safety improvements. Ever the promotor he is justly famous for making the deal with Mattel Hot Wheels to sponsor him and Don Prudhomme. Credited with bringing big time sponsorship to drag racing. got a groovy little street machine with a full blown Chrysler mill, she shuts down all the stocks just like they're standin' still... (ed note: well yeah, it had better) Little Street Machine by Hot Rod Rog

The Go Fast(er) Department Bobby Avis and Don Deering Race Team Coordinators Mike Bearse TMCCC Rep And now... SEVENTEEN TIME TMCCC CHAMPIONS!!!! Hello fellow Cowtown Mopar members.
