GAME NOTES Clearwater (22-22) vs Fort Myers (22-22) Game No. 45 May 27, 2015 Starting Pitchers: LHP Mat Batts (0-0) vs Victor Arano (0-5) Shark Bytes CANT STAND THE RAIN: Tuesday night s scheduled series opener against the Fort Myers Miracle was postponed due to rain. It was the third postponement at Bright House Field in 2015. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Thursday, beginning at 5 p.m. KLEVEN LEADS THRESHERS TO SERIES WIN: Colin Kleven delivered his best start of the season on Sunday, helping the Clearwater Threshers push past Palm Beach in a 3-1 win in the series finale at Roger Dean Stadium. Kleven limited the Cardinals to only two hits through his six innings of work. He surrendered just one run, did not issue any walks, and collected a season-high eight strikeouts. Chase Harris was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the seventh, and a wild pitch plus an error permitted two more runs to score to give Clearwater a 3-1 lead. START ME UP: Threshers starting pitching was dominant throughout the four-game series in Palm Beach. Mark Leiter, Jr., David Whitehead, Brandon Leibrandt, and Kleven combined to allow only three runs over 26 innings, a 1.04 ERA. They walked just five batters total, and teamed up for 22 strikeouts. Each hurler gave the Threshers six innings or more, and permitted one run or less in his respective start. WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?: Aaron Brown reached base three times on Sunday, and has raised his average 30 points since being activated from the disabled list on May 12. Over his last 10 games, the Threshers center fielder is batting.353 (12-for-34). BACK EVEN: The Threshers went 5-2 on their recent road trip to pull back to.500 for the first time since May 9. Clearwater enters tonight in second place, 4.5 games back of Daytona in the FSL North.
