SPECIAL PROGRAMMING IN HONOR OF VETERANS' DAY Saturday, November 11 @ Noon Saturday, November 11 @ 12:30 & 1PM Veterans talk about their experiences in Vietnam as well as coming home and the pain that followed on the occasion of the Travelling Wall exhibit coming to Blythewood, South Carolina in May 2016. Kansas Stories: Passageways and More Saturday, November 11 @ 2:45PM A Gulf War veteran publishes a book of battlefield photos, volunteers work to track down photos of Kansans killed in the Vietnam War, and local vets are rescued from homelessness these are some of the stories featured in this program about the triumphs and tragedies facing Kansas military veterans. DAVID LETTERMAN Monday, November 20 @ 7PM Celebrate the work of beloved broadcaster David Letterman, the 20th recipient of The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Parts 1 & 2 Men and women of Wichita share their experiences from World War II. Saturday, November 11 @ 2PM As a child he attended the best schools and traveled the world with his famous father, but when David Parks landed in Vietnam in 1967 there were no luxury hotels or five-star restaurants to pamper him. This youngest son of famed photographer and film director, Gordon Parks, found himself on the battlefield of one of most horrific wars. In the midst of this horror show as Parks calls it, he kept a diary of what he saw and did and later published it in a book titled, GI Diary. Saturday, November 11 @ 4PM During the Vietnam War, CBS News correspondent Morton Dean and cameraman Greg Cooke flew on a harrowing medevac mission to rescue three wounded infantrymen from an enemy infested rice paddy. Dean long wondered what had become of the medevac crew and the bloodied men who were airlifted to safety on that day in 1971. American Medevac tells the story of their reunion, more than 40 years later. Thursday, November 23 @ 7PM Join Anne Shirley as she turns 13 and faces complex issues with friends, adults and Gilbert. Her free-spirited nature is challenged by her perceived need to be sensible. Look for this symbol indicating programs for which you can pledge. Monday, November 27 @ 7PM International recording artist Pavlo returns to Greece for a spectacular concert featuring old favorites and new classics. Pavlo has thrilled audiences throughout the United States and Canada where he was named Touring Artists of the Year. Watch tonight for ticket opportunities to see Pavlo in Wichita at The Crown Uptown Theatre on May 12. Saturday, November 25 @ 7PM Explore the history of the Fab Four from their early days in Liverpool to their last concert in San Francisco in 1966. The film, by Oscarwinner Ron Howard, reveals how the foursome united to become the global phenomenon that was The Beatles. Celebrate 50 years of the illustrious career of Cat Stevens as he talks about fame, the songwriting process, and performs some of his greatest hits, from Morning Has Broken to Peace Train to Wild World.
