Key Club Jan 4th, 2017
DCON - WHAT: A weekend long event designed to refine leadership and gather 2000+ Key Clubbers from over 300 clubs to celebrate service. Key Clubbers attend workshops, receive officer training, participate in spirit battles, and elect the next District Executive officers. - WHEN: Friday, March 31 st to Sunday, April 2 nd (Weekend before returning from spring break) - WHERE: Portland (But you are required to stay in a hotel downtown) - COST: 265-375 dollars (Pays for registration, 2 nights in a hotel, dinner on Friday, breakfast and lunch on Saturday) Come up to the front at the end of the meeting if you are interested or have any questions! We will be handing out paperwork you need to fill out as well. You MUST turn in the paperwork by next Friday (1/13) if you want to go to DCON.
Can Fundraiser To help raise money to send people to DCON, we will be doing a can fundraiser. If you have any cans or bottles at home, put them in a garbage bag and bring them to us. You will earn 5 points for each bag (maximum of 2 bags). In a few weeks, we will have an event where we will be recycling the cans at Fred Meyer in order to earn the 5-cent deposit for each can/bottle.
Lieutenant Governor The Lieutenant Governor oversees all of the Key Clubs in Division 64 (Tualatin, Tigard, Sherwood, Lakeridge, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Wilsonville). Anyone in Key Club can run to become the Lieutenant Governor. The election will be held on Sunday, January 15th from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at the West Linn Public Library. Anyone running needs to have a speech prepared (no longer than 3 minutes), their packets all completed before arriving to the rally, and they must arrive at the library 20 MINUTES before the election starts. Come up to the front at the end of the meeting if you are interested so I can email you more information!
Reminder About Letters/Cords If you want to letter or cord, keep in mind that you must attend 4 Key Club events and 4 meetings each semester, in addition to meeting the points requirements.
Club Photo! The yearbook will be taking a club picture at the beginning of the next meeting (Wednesday, Jan. 18th). Be sure to show up on time!
Events Winter Holiday Night Friday January 13th Multiple shifts listed below Location: Tualatin Elementary School Set Up: 3:30pm to 5:30pm (4-5 people) Includes papering cafeteria tables and stamping them with festive winter holiday stamps, setting up a snowman photo op and the refreshment table. During the Event: 6:00pm to 8:00pm (8-10 people) Volunteers will either run the temporary tattoo table and face painting table, help the kids put together wreaths and things to take home at the garden table, pass out frosting and gingerbread houses, or help with the photo op. Clean Up: 8:00pm to 9:00pm (4-5 people) Involves taking down the photo op, cleaning up the tables, sweeping the floor and breaking down the refreshment area.

Meet in the lobby. You will help by packing and helping the staff at the Pantry house! Optional: If you d like to donate food, visit http://www.schoolhousepantry.org/pages/donate.php for more info. Important: Bring Identification or other method of address verification when visiting the pantry! I would recommend filling out a City of Tualatin Volunteer waiver (found on our website).
Events UNITE - Tualatin Ecology Club Restoration Tuesday Jan 24th 3:00pm - 4:30pm Location: Tualatin High School Meet at Ms. Perry s Room. Details: Tualatin High School will be receiving new plants and trees which is awesome! Help by planting them around our campus! Ms. Perry would like to have 50 people out to help, so invite some friends to come if you would like to (even if they are not in Key Club). Medical Teams International Tuesday Jan. 31st 4:30pm - 7:30pm Location: 14150 SW Milton Ct, Portland, OR 97224 Details: Volunteers will help organize, sort, and pack medical supplies. IMPORTANT: If under 18, you must fill out youth waiver before you go. NO OPEN TOED SHOES, you cannot do this event if you wear them (EX: flip flops or sandals are not allowed).
