Silverdale Baptist Academy Varsity Cheerleading Constitution The enforcement of rules and discipline remain the responsibility of the coaches. All decisions concerning camp, squad practices and games will be made by the coaches. Trvouts To tryout, contestants must have the following: 1. Three teacher recommendations from core teachers 2. A signed registration form 3. A signed Cheerleader and Parent consent form No contestant will be allowed to tryout if the above requirements are not met. All documents must be turned into the coaches by the first day of tryouts. You must be dressed out and sitting in the designated gym by 3:30. Rides must be here no later than 5:00 and must wait outside the school. The coaches will not be responsible for your daughter after the clinic or tryout, so please pick her up on time. All practices and tryouts will be closed sessions. This means no one other than the candidates who are trying out, the coaches, and administrators will be allowed to observe. Please comply with this request since violation will jeopardize your daughter's eligibility. Expectations are that the girls will keep parents and themselves informed at all times. If there are questions, they will be answered during practice. Those who make the squad MUST make all payments on time.

1 Conduct Cheerleaders are representatives of Siiverdale Baptist Academy at all times and are recognized as school and class leaders. Therefore, each cheerleader is expected to conduct herself in a manner that is above reproach as a representative of SEA and the Lord Jesus Christ. The following ruies have been set in place to ensure that cheerleaders continue to set a positive example to the SEA student body and the community at large. Failure to comply with these rules will result in suspension or removal from the squad. 1. Cheerleaders and parents must show respect to all coaches and cheerleaders at ALL times. 2. Cheerleaders are not to speak negatively about SEA or any particular individual or policy associated with the school. 3. Cheerleaders are representatives of SEA at ALL times - social media included 1 If a cheerleader has a social media account of any type, she will be held accountable for the postings and actions of said account. Disciplinary action will be held to the discretion of coaches and administration if any content is found that is not above reproach or a poor representative of SEA and SEA athletics. 4. Cheerleaders must attend all practices and assigned athletic events. Cheerleaders are not allowed to miss games during fall break. 5. Cheerleaders are not allowed to participate in other sports at SBA unless the sport does not conflict with the cheer season. 6. Each cheerleader will be allowed three excused absences from practices for the entire season. The coaches must be notified - by the cheerleader, not a friend - before the practice of their absence; otherwise their absence will be unexcused. Excused absences are onlv for illness that is accompanied with a doctor's note (no doctor's note and the absence will not be excused), family emergencies, or an approved school function. School work is not an excuse as you are expected to do this on your own time. If you have a dentist or doctor appointment the day of a game or practice, please call and reschedule. 7. Following the first unexcused absence, cheerleaders will attend the next game in uniform and sit in the stands with the coaches for the first half of the game. Following the second unexcused absence, cheerleaders will attend the next game in uniform and sit in the stands with the coaches for the entire game. Following the third unexcused absence, the cheerleader will be dismissed from the squad. (This rule also applies to any occurrence where a cheerleader misses a game.) 8. Cheerleaders are expected to be punctual to all assigned events and practices. The coach will determine excused and unexcused tardiness. Three unexcused tardies will equal one unexcused absence and the above rule will apply. 9. If a cheerleader is injured, she is still required to attend all practices and games (unless previously stated by the coaches). She will be expected to dress in the uniform/warm-up, matching the rest of the squad. She will sit in the stands with the coaches. 10. Grades will be monitored throughout the season. 11. Cheerleaders will cooperate with the head coach, assistant coach, captains, other squad members, administrators, and game officials at all times. TSSAA holds the school responsible for the actions of the cheerleaders.

12. Cheerleaders must arrive to football games In full uniform, hair done, and ready to cheer 1 hour prior to the start of football games, and 30 minutes before basketball games. Only cheer outerwear Is to be worn. No street clothes or different footwear other than cheer shoes I Cheer bags are the only purse/bag Item to be carried. 13. The choice to cheer on an all-star team will remain a choice made by the cheerleader. The SBA squad should be considered the primary obligation. The coach will determine excused and unexcused absences. 14. Cheerleaders will not eat or chew gum during the game. All refreshments will be left In the stands with parents. Cheerleaders will not sit In the stands or leave the squad until the end of the game, except during halftlme. Attention will be devoted to the game at all times. 15. All squad members will cheer at MX home and away football games. Groups will rotate during basketball season if squad size allows. 16. Cheerleaders must be In full uniform when assigned. This Includes poms and hair bows. Bracelets, rings, earrings and belly rings may not be worn. Nails should be kept at a reasonable length. NO NAIL POLISH. 17. NO CELL PHONES ON THE SIDELINES 18. Uniforms, bags, & rain jackets are the property of the school. Cheerleaders are responsible for replacing lost, stolen, or damaged Items. 19. A cheerleader who quits the squad or Is removed from the squad will not be eligible to try out the following year. Any exceptions will be left up to the coaches and athletic administrators. 20. Cheerleaders are required to participate In mandatory fundraisers set forth by the coaches or the SBA athletic department. 21. Any cheerleader who has knowledge of any violation of the conduct rules has the responsibility to report this violation to the head coach. 22. In addition to the aforementioned regulations, which are specific to cheerleading, cheerleaders and parents are also expected to comply with all the regulations set forth in the SBA Athletic Handbook. 23.
