1 Conduct Cheerleaders are representatives of Siiverdale Baptist Academy at all times and are recognized as school and class leaders. Therefore, each cheerleader is expected to conduct herself in a manner that is above reproach as a representative of SEA and the Lord Jesus Christ. The following ruies have been set in place to ensure that cheerleaders continue to set a positive example to the SEA student body and the community at large. Failure to comply with these rules will result in suspension or removal from the squad. 1. Cheerleaders and parents must show respect to all coaches and cheerleaders at ALL times. 2. Cheerleaders are not to speak negatively about SEA or any particular individual or policy associated with the school. 3. Cheerleaders are representatives of SEA at ALL times - social media included 1 If a cheerleader has a social media account of any type, she will be held accountable for the postings and actions of said account. Disciplinary action will be held to the discretion of coaches and administration if any content is found that is not above reproach or a poor representative of SEA and SEA athletics. 4. Cheerleaders must attend all practices and assigned athletic events. Cheerleaders are not allowed to miss games during fall break. 5. Cheerleaders are not allowed to participate in other sports at SBA unless the sport does not conflict with the cheer season. 6. Each cheerleader will be allowed three excused absences from practices for the entire season. The coaches must be notified - by the cheerleader, not a friend - before the practice of their absence; otherwise their absence will be unexcused. Excused absences are onlv for illness that is accompanied with a doctor's note (no doctor's note and the absence will not be excused), family emergencies, or an approved school function. School work is not an excuse as you are expected to do this on your own time. If you have a dentist or doctor appointment the day of a game or practice, please call and reschedule. 7. Following the first unexcused absence, cheerleaders will attend the next game in uniform and sit in the stands with the coaches for the first half of the game. Following the second unexcused absence, cheerleaders will attend the next game in uniform and sit in the stands with the coaches for the entire game. Following the third unexcused absence, the cheerleader will be dismissed from the squad. (This rule also applies to any occurrence where a cheerleader misses a game.) 8. Cheerleaders are expected to be punctual to all assigned events and practices. The coach will determine excused and unexcused tardiness. Three unexcused tardies will equal one unexcused absence and the above rule will apply. 9. If a cheerleader is injured, she is still required to attend all practices and games (unless previously stated by the coaches). She will be expected to dress in the uniform/warm-up, matching the rest of the squad. She will sit in the stands with the coaches. 10. Grades will be monitored throughout the season. 11.
