F1 breaks out - dumps and changes f4 group breaks out and attacks repeat 3-4 times with line changes X1 starts skating and passes to X3 as X2 starts skating toward far blue line X3 steps off boards and makes a chip pass around cone back to X1 X1 receives chip pass and makes a chip pass to X2 X2 gaines zone for 3-0

16 DETROIT DRILL GREYHOUND STRETCH 17 Run both sides at the same time. Start with 2 to 3 players at each position. X1 leaves with puck turns up ice around the net and passes to X2 X2 comes down the wall anchors, receives a pass from X1, controls puck and quickly moves the puck to a cutting X3 X3 times cut and begins to move as the puck is passed to X2 X3 picks up speed when X2 has puck control and then receives a pass from X2 and touch passes back to X1 and finishes cut up the boards r r X1 skates onto the touch pass and moves the puck wide to X3 X3 takes the puck in wide for a shot. Advance the drill by having O1 who passes to the coach in the corner and receives a pass back before rounding the net and moving the puck to the half wall Continuous drill after first whistle and same instructions for both sides X1 and O1 leave on the whistle X2 passes to X1 skating backwards X1 touch passes back to X2 then X1 pivots fwd X1 rounds face off dot and receives a pass from 02 X1 touches pass back to O2 then rounds face off dot into stretch along the blue line X2 passes a stretch pass to X1 at the far blueline r r Once X2 makes the stretch pass, he pivots backwards and skates along the blueline and X3 replaces him as the passer r r X1 enters zone and takes a shot

18 NAT ONE TIMING FLOW WARM-UP 19 X2 passes to X1 and curls board-side. r r X1 steps to the middle of the ice and returns the pass to X2. X2 passes to X4 and curls far-side up the wall. X1 drives the net and gets a return pass from X4 to shoot a one-time shot. X3 steps out to the middle of the ice and passes to X2. X2 drives the far net and shoots. O1 leaves and curls through the neutral zone and receives a pass from the far pile of pucks. A coach or player must start there for the first time through. r r O2 needs to skate to the redline and then curl to the outside and then cut through the receiving zone and receive a pass from O1. Timing is key. r r O2 then goes and shoots and then become the passer for the players coming from the other end.

22 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 3 SHOT To 2VS1 23 X1 start drill w/shot on net X2 passes to X1 & attacks 2-0 on the other end. 24 3 - SHOT to 2 on 1 CHESER DRILL 25 Line passes puck to D, who drags to shot on dead angle, G must use post position to start 2nd whistle X1 and X2 stagger shots on the net 3rd whistle, C spots puck in to NZ, D1 retreats, gaps up X1: X2 retrieves puck and goes down the other end 2 on 1 again the D. 26 CONTINUOUS 3 vs 2 CONTINUOUS 3 vs 2 NEUTRAL ZONE REGROUP 27 Line 1 starts at blue line and defense starts at center. Forwards go down on a 3v2. The play continues until they score, the goalie covers the puck, or the D get the puck to the next forward line The Next Forward line then goes a 3v2 on the next D pair. Forward line work on entries, cycling and triangles. D work on down low 3v2 r r(coach) dumps puck in 1st D pair retrieve and breakout with 3 forwards. 2nd D pair enter NZ for regroup w 3Fs. 1st D pair gap up out default 3v2 rush. 28 ETHAN-NATOR NORTH KAWARTHA LOOPS 29 Players line up in the corner with the puck. 2 players line up spaced out on the blue and 1 screening the goalie. Player 1 in the corner passes to player 2 at the blue P2 passes to P3 P3 shoots on net and P4 trys to deflect the puck in the net. r r Players follow their pass. Fast pace Drill everyone keeps moving. Switch corners. F1 passes to F2 then F1 loops around and receives a pass from C1 and shoots. F2 continues with puck and passes to D1 who is skating backwards. [two more passes back and forth are optional] D1 turns and passes to F3 who uses a timing loop to receive pass from D1. D1 loops and stops, then receives pass from C2, moves horizontally and shoots. r r F3 continues up ice and engages in a 1-on-1 with D2 who maintains tight gap with F3 OFFENSIVE PLAY OFFENSIVE PLAY

30 K-Cycle 3 vs 2 NEUTRAL ZONE DRILL 31 X1 drives into the zone wide. Co pressure X1 to the outside and prevents a cut-in. X2 drives to the weak-side of the net. X1 makes a board pass behind the net to X2. X2 curls up the boards, X1 follows the play. X2 leaves a cycle-pass to X1 and drives the net. X1 picks up the puck and passes to X2 for a shot in the high slot. On whistle, F1 passes puck to LD and F1, F2 and F3 regroup back towards LD1 and RD1 LD1 moves puck to RD1 who then chooses to move puck to F1, F2 or F3. Once received, the three forwards move in on a 3 on 2. LD1 and RD1 follow play up to provide more offensive support to create a 5 on 2. r r At other end, Coach works with other goalie on stopping puck on rim and dump around. Good practice for goalie to practice moving out of net and then shooting puck or passing puck with goal stick. OFFENSIVE PLAY OFFENSIVE PLAY

32 CORNER VGT (Impact) 1-2-3 Regroup 33 Small Area Transitions Accelerations Outside-In Move on Attack Triangle Finish with a shot OFFENSIVE PLAY F1 passes to defenseman near line and swing with D to D pass F1 receives pass from D and makes pass to other D who then go D to D as F1 swings with pass F2 activates and swings opposite of F1 with coect timing F1 receives pass from D and makes pass to original D who then go D to D and F1 swings F2 continues to swing and F3 activates and swings F1 F2 and F3 fill lanes and receive pass from D and attack 3-0 r r Next step is D activating on final set of passes and forwards attack 3-2 OFFENSIVE PLAY

34 2 on 1 BREAK OUT - RE-GROUP ATTACK Forwards will be stationed at all four blue lines. To start the drill two D men will be positioned at center one on the bottom of the circle the other on the red line. On the whistle the D man on the bottom of the circle will skate backwards to the blue line once passed the blue line The D man will pivot forward and skate forward behind the net to pick up a puck. Once the D man has pivoted the two forwards will now leave as illustrated (note the D man can go either side so if you are the strong side forward you must anchor on the boards as shown). r r The D man will pass to the Anchored forward who will then pass to the supporting Forward. The two forwards will then skate to the neutral zone where they will pass to the second Defenseman who is skating backwards. r r Once the second D man receives the pass he will then skate forwards and provide a re group pass to the supporting Forwards who will then attack the first D man 2 on 1. Once the second D Man makes the Re group pass he will continue the drill by completing the sequence of the first Defenseman. A new D man will fill in the Neutral zone as the DEFENSIVE PLAY drills OFFENSIVE PLAY

48 SHOOT N SCOOT: FULL ICE, 1 on 1 & 2 on 1 SHORT BATTLE, LONG BATTLE 49 1st Progression both ends: 1 Passes to O off the boards, cuts to deep slot to screen G from point shot 1 then retrieves puck from opposite corner, and battles O 1 on 1 to opposite G. 2nd Progression, both ends.-1 Passes to O off the boards, the cuts to high slot At the same time, 2 cuts to deep slot to screen G from point shot. 2 then retrieves puck from opposite corner, and passes to 1 off the boards who is swinging high, and then joins 1 to battle O 2 on 1 to opposite goal. 50 D to D TOUCH PASS WITH 1 on 1 Forward takes two strides then passes puck to D1 who can touch pass or catch and pivot and pass to D2. Forward takes off around bottom of center ice face off circle and times his pace with puck movement. After receiving the pass the Forward goes 1 on 1 with middle Defensman. Extra D stay in the center ice circle and will replace the Defensman on the wall. r r The Defense on the wall will move to center slot and repeat. Forwards switch sides.
