Products may be used in structures regulated under the IRC when design is submitted in accordance with Section R301.1.3 of the IRC. 3.0 DESCRIPTION 3.1 Product information 3.1.1 HA Anchor Series: The HA anchor series is manufactured to attach metal plate connected trusses, framing members and wall members, made of solid sawn or structural composite lumber; to solid sawn or structural composite lumber wall members. The HA4 products are available in a left (HA4L) and right (HA4R) style. The HA2.5 product may be used on either or both sides for the supported member. The HA anchors resist upward load, lateral load perpendicular to the supported truss or framing member, and thrust load parallel to the supported truss or framing member. Attachment is required to the lower portion of the supported truss or framing member, and the top plates of the supporting wall, or wall stud and anchored sill (bottom) plate(s). For HA anchor series reference Table 1 and Figure 1 of this report for product dimensions, fastener schedule, wood species, allowable loads, and typical installations. 3.1.2 LS, LMS and MS Strap Series: The LS, LMS and MS Strap Series are manufactured to resist tension loads when attached to solid sawn or structural composite lumber metal plate connected trusses, I- Joist flanges, framing members and wall members. LS, LMS and MS Straps are 1-1/4 inch wide and available in lengths from 9-5/8 inches to 49-5/8 inches. Three fastener holes are located at 3/4 inches on center, in a diagonal pattern, at each end of the strap. Remaining holes are punched at 1-1/2 inches on center in a diagonal pattern. At mid length of each strap there is a 3 inch long section with no holes. For LS strap series reference Table 2 and Figure 2 of this report for product dimensions, fastener schedule, wood species, allowable loads, and typical installations. For LMS strap series reference Table 3 and Figure 3 of this report for product dimensions, fastener schedule, wood species, allowable loads and typical installations. For MS strap series reference Table 4 and Figure 4 of this report for product dimensions, fastener schedule, wood species, allowable loads, and typical installations. 3.1.3 LST Twisted Strap Series: The LST Twisted Strap Series is manufactured to resist tension load when attached to solid sawn or structural composite lumber metal plate connected trusses, framing members and wall members. LST Twisted Straps are 1-1/4 inch wide and available in lengths from 9-5/8 inches to 24-5/8 inches. Three fastener holes are Page 1 of 19 Copyright 2014 by International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials. All rights reserved. Printed in the United States. located at 3/4 inches on center, in a diagonal pattern, at each end of the strap. Remaining holes are punched at 1-1/2 inches on center, in a diagonal pattern. At mid length of each strap is a 3 inch long section with no holes and a ninety-degree bend extending across the width of the strap for 4-5/8 inches. For LST twisted strap series reference Table 5 and Figure 5 of this report for product dimensions, fastener schedule, wood species, and allowable loads, and typical installations. 3.1.4 RS Rolled Strapping Series: The RS Rolled Strapping Series is manufactured to resist tension load when attached to solid sawn or structural composite lumber, metal plate connected trusses, framing members and wall members. RS Rolled Strapping is 1-1/4 inch wide with fastener holes punched at 1-1/4 inches on center, in a staggered pattern, reference Figure 6. Strapping is manufactured in continuous rolls of 250 feet for 20 gauge, 200 feet for 18 gauge, and 150 feet for 16 gauge. For RS 150 reference Table 6, for RS 200 reference Table 7, for RS 250 reference Table 8 of this report for product dimensions, fastener schedule, wood species, and allowable loads. 3.1.5 TPA Anchor Series: The TPA anchor series is manufactured to resist uplift of the top plate(s) of solid sawn or structural composite lumber wall members from solid sawn or structural composite lumber wall stud members. TPA4 and TPA6 anchors resist upward load on nominal 2x4 and 2x6 respectively, solid sawn or structural composite lumber walls. The TPA anchor is applied over the top wall plate(s) at stud locations and fastener attachment is made into each side of the narrow face of the stud. For TPA anchor series reference Table 9 and Figure 7 of this report for product dimensions, fastener schedule, wood species, and allowable loads, and typical installations. 3.1.6 LSC Load Share Clip Series: The LSC load share clip series is manufactured to transfer load between two truss or framing ply members made of solid sawn or structural composite lumber. LSC32 and LSC42 clips transfer downward load between nominal 3x2 and 4x2, respectively, solid sawn or structural composite lumber member plies. LSC32-2 and LSC42-2 clips transfer downward load between double stacked, nominal 3x2 and 4x2 respectively, solid sawn or structural composite lumber members. The LSC clip is applied under the load supporting member then bent over the top of the supporting member as shown in Figure 8A-C. Fastener attachment is made into the narrow face of the supported member and wide, top face of the supporting member. For LSC series reference Table 10 and Figure 8A-C of this report for product dimensions, fastener schedule, wood species, and allowable loads, and typical installations. 3.1.7 TBR Bracer: The TBR Bracer is manufactured to provide permanent lateral support to the top chord, bottom chord and web members of metal plate connected wood trusses spaced at 24 in. on center. For TBR Bracer, reference Table 11 and Figure 9 of this report for product dimensions, fastener schedule, wood species, allowable loads and installations. 3.2 Materials 3.2.1 Steel: The HA anchors are manufactured from mill certified steel coil manufactured to ASTM A653 or A1063, SS Grade 60 or better, 18 gauge with G90 or G185 Coating, with a minimum uncoated thickness of steel = 0.0428 inch, Fy = 60ksi, and Fu = 70ksi.
