IT S SPORT The city of Liverpool has submitted a bid to host the 2022 Commonwealth games Everton FC will build a new, state of the art stadium at Bramley Moore Docks, on the world heritage waterfront a development that would support the city s bid to host the commonwealth games in 2022. Everton FC and Liverpool FC are separated by just one mile and are two of the Premiership s finest football clubs. The region is also home to England s Golf Coast, the finest stretch of championship golf in the world, with no fewer than three Royal Links courses which have hosted endless Open Championships and Ryder Cups. Horse-racing is huge in the city; Aintree and Haydock racecourses offer top-quality racing including the world-famous Grand National Festival at Aintree each spring. Liverpool is also close to a number of top rugby teams, including St Helens (Saints) - the most successful Rugby League club of the Super League era.

LIVERPOOL 2018 GET EXCITED A decade since European Capital of Culture, 2018 marks the start of a new chapter in the history of Liverpool. A watershed year which will reposition Liverpool on an international stage and reimagine what it means to be a city in the digital age. In 2018 the city will deliver an ambitious year-long cultural programme, a series of internationally significant events, exhibitions, seasons and performances which will shine a light on the importance of culture within the ongoing renaissance of the city, and how it will play a key role in the blueprint for success moving forward. Plans are in motion with some of the world s leading artists, musicians and cultural organisations and the programme is set to include the return of two of the most iconic moments from 2008 - Royal de Luxe s Giants and the Tall Ships fleet. and convention centre and Liverpool ONE, with the crucial role of these organisations set to be celebrated in style. One of the seasons planned will focus on The Future of Work, and will see International Business Festival 2018 and The Uniglobal World Congress be part of a major cultural and social program looking at what the future of work looks like and what it means for society as a whole. The new commissions for 2018 will be integrated into the city s already celebrated cultural offer, and will aim to attract audiences of around five million people, creating upwards of 50million economic impact and push Liverpool to the top of the must-visit cities in 2018. A series of important anniversaries also take place in 2018 including the 30th birthday of Tate Liverpool, the 20th anniversary of Liverpool Biennial and ten years of the arena
OUR VENUES & MARKETS ENTERTAINMENT & SPORT MARKET Echo Arena has a capacity of 11,000 and has hosted a range of high profile events including the MOBO Awards 2010 and 2012, the European MTV awards, BBC Sports Personality of the Year, the Davis Cup and Sir Paul McCartney Products include EchoTwo, a smaller 4,000 capacity venue within the arena and The Auditorium Liverpool, for intimate performances within BT Convention Centre Since opening in January 2008, Echo Arena has hosted more than 1,000 performances and welcomed nearly 5 million visitors. CONFERENCE EXHIBITION Opened in September 2015, Exhibition Centre Liverpool has increased the existing 7,125 sqm of exhibition space at ACC Liverpool to 15,225 sqm of integrated and flexible event space It includes an integrated hotel, Pullman Liverpool, that is linked to the existing facilities at ACC Liverpool via a pedestrian bridge Exhibition Centre Liverpool hosts consumer and trade exhibitions; large national and international conferences; banquets; concerts and global sporting events Events have included MCM Liverpool Comic Con and the International Festival for Business Since opening, Exhibition Centre Liverpool has welcomed 170,000 visitors ACC Liverpool has held more than 930 conferences and hosted 750,000 delegates Awards include Winner of Best UK Conference Centre at the M & IT Awards 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 It has a 1,350-seat auditorium, a 3,725 sqm multi-purpose hall and 18 further meeting rooms. Total exhibition space is in excess of 7,125 sqm. It has hosted events including both the Liberal Democrats and Labour Party Conferences, NHS Confederation and BBC Worldwide Showcase TICKETING The ACC Liverpool Group s ticketing company, TicketQuarter, provides a local, regional and national ticketing service TicketQuarter is the ticketing solutions partner for attractions and venues including the British Music Experience, Farmageddon and Olympia Liverpool. Since launching in 2012, TicketQuarter has sold over 550,000 tickets.
