2 VICE PRESIDENTS REPORT APRIL 2017 When you receive this newsletter we would have gone through 25% of 2017 so where did that time go. Now moving into our cooler months and the day light saving now finished it was discussed at a committee meeting that in the months of June, July and August that the club hold their end of month event on Saturday afternoon starting around 12pm. The reasons for this are: many of our members are now getting up in years and it was felt that many more senior members would attend as it is still daylight, they are not travelling home in the dark and are able to enjoy the comfort of their home with the fire burning. I know this won t suit everyone but please consider our senior members of our club. On that note the club welcomes the latest new members Roger and Elizabeth Brown, we look forward to meeting you all at the end of months function which will be held this month on April the 30th (Sunday) at the Haycock Point BBQ area commencing at 12 noon. For those that want to throw a surf rod in your starting time is up to you and Salmon is the FOTM. May I add that the BBQ I believe is a wood burning BBQ plus the club will have a couple of BBQ s on hand. Please remember to ring Gwen on 6496 2134 and inform her of your attendance. On Sunday the 30th March a BBQ was held at the club as an end of month function. Although attendances were down those that attended had a lovely day, with good conversation held by all. I had a small trivia quiz which was won by Debbie Cummings, who picked up a Mako Shirt for her efforts. Also, well done to the FOTM winners for February and March. Our Sponsor Mako has given our club the go ahead to continue giving a Mako pack away every month, valued at approx. $110. To win just turn up to the end of month functions where a lucky draw will take place. If your number is drawn you re the lucky winner. Sue and I will not be available to attend the next few functions as we will be doing the nomad thing, caravanning to SA and QLD. I will be back in time for July s AGM so if you re interested in a committee position please get your nominations into the secretary by mid-june. Good fishing to all & have a Happy and Safe Easter, Eddy Evans Vice President A THANK YOU to Corey Walker for donating a box to the clubhouse where members can leave their weigh dockets. The box is located under the hot water system (just on the left at the top of the ramp). Note: Members are welcome to attend committee meetings. Next meeting 5/5/17 Members can view the minutes at the Clubhouse
