2014 Deseret I & II Concurrent Horse Show: In response to many requests to reduce the cost to show at the Deseret I & II Horse Show, AHAUtah has made accommodations to meet your needs and requests. The per class fee for performance classes has been reduced $15 from $45 to $30 and the Performance Championships have been reduced $15 from $55 to $40. To make these reductions prizes will only be awarded for Championship classes, with one prize awarded per class winner. Ribbons will be awarded in all classes. In addition, a minimum of three horses must be entered in a performance championship and two horses in a halter championship class for a payout to occur. TBA class sponsorships have been cut in half; from $40 for one horse to $20, $10 per horse for two horses in a TBA class, and NO fee for TBA classes with three entries. We hope this modification will increase participation at the show as well as ease the burden on your pocketbook. If you have any concerns or constructive suggestions please feel free to contact me or a member of the AHAUtah board. Julie Ott Ferrara The 2014 Deseret I & II Horse Shows will be a concurrent horse show. It will be an AHA and USEF approved A rated show qualifying for the Region VII and 8 Championships. As a concurrent horse show there are significant advantages. Several of the advantages are as follows: Deseret I & II will be a combined three (3) day show as opposed to a two day Region VII qualifying show followed by a two day Region 8 qualifying show. The concurrent show will run from Friday March 28, 2014 thru Sunday March 30, 2014. The show will be a combined show meaning that each class in the show will be simultaneously judged. Ken Price will be adjudicating Deseret I, Region VII qualifier, and Cathy Vesey will be adjudicating Deseret II, Region 8 qualifier. Ken Price will be calling gates for the western and hunter division classes while Cathy Vesey will be calling gates for the english, show hack, and driving divisions. In each class, all exhibitors will be judged by both judges and placed separately by each judge. This means that a rider could win the class according to one judge and come in a different place by the second judge With the concurrent show spanning three days the class list has greatly expanded. The show will offer all of your favorite classes along with new and expanded ATR and Select classes and championships. The class fees have increased, however, you now only have to pay ONE USEF and ONE AHA fee in lieu of two fees for the back to back show. We hope that this innovation will be beneficial to all exhibitors by overall reducing: cost/fees, lost time from work and school, reduced travel/hotel expenses, and stress on our horses, while adding many new class options and qualifying for two regional s simultaneously! Class Awards Procedure: After the judges cards have been turned in and verified, exhibitors will be asked to remain in there position in line up while the placings are announced for each show. Ribbons will be presented to exhibitors while in line up. The class winner(s) will receive their award upon leaving the arena RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides.
