Support SMA by purchasing a bracelet sold today and Thursday during your lunch period and Friday morning for $1 M-Attention 7th and 8th graders, If you are interested in signing up for the UIL spelling team please go by Mrs. Villarreal's room, 406 to pick up your UIL spelling list to start studying. Tryouts will be held after school today in room 406. H-Students, beginning November 9, the front office will begin emailing you phone messages from parents and messages to pick up any items
that are dropped off for you. Please be on the lookout for messages from mmsfrontoffice@midwayisd.org We will only send notes to classrooms for these things if technology has your ipad for any reason or if your parent drops off your ipad for you to pick up. Also, beginning November 9, there will be an online form to fill out for Lost and Found items. If you lose an item, you may report the item missing by going to the MMS website, clicking on the student tab and clicking on the Lost and Found Form link. To access the form, you will need to use your Google Account login, not your email address. You will receive an email from mmsfrontoffice@midwayisd.org letting you know if we have your item or not. M-7th and 8th graders! If you are interested in competing in Dictionary Skills for UIL please plan on coming to room 205-Mrs.Porter's room after school today for tryouts. H-Attention all students! Are you dramatic but don't have a place to express your skills? Well you do now! Try out for the UIL Poetry team. We need 7th and 8th graders. Try outs will be this Thursday, Nov 5 th, from 3:30 to 4:10 after school in Ms. Smith's room 603. See you there! M-This Friday, come Show up and Glow up to support SMA! Our 1st dance of the year will be before the Midway High School football game from 5-7. You must have your student ID and NO demerits. Tickets will be sold tomorrow and Thursday during your lunch time and Friday morning for $4, tickets at the door will be $5. There will be snacks, drinks and glow sticks sold for $1 each and pictures for $5. So come show your support for SMA and dance the night away!
H-Listen UP! Tryouts for UIL Listening Skills team are TODAY and tomorrow after school at 3:30 in Room 405. If you are a good listener, the TEAM NEEDS YOU! M-Attention all girls basketball players! Official tryouts are right around the corner!! They will begin this Wednesday Nov. 4th and end Friday Nov. 6th. 7th grade tryouts will be held before school from 6:15-7:30 am and 8th grade will be after school from 3:45-5:00 pm! Bring your A game and get ready to compete for a spot on the MMS girl's basketball teams! Wear your blues and greys and don't be late!! H-Have you run out of school supplies already? Do you need a new red pen for English class? How about a glue stick for history? Some paper for math? Or a highlighter for science class? Well you are in luck! Coming soon to our campus: (dramatic pause) "The Midway Middle School Store" a place where you can buy all of your school supply needs at competitive prices. The grand opening will be soon. If you are an 8th grader and want to be a part of the first ever employee team of the Midway Middle School Store, then pick up an application from your math teacher. Fill it out and return it to your math teacher ASAP. Interviews will begin soon! H-I wonder if you get paid to work at the school store. M-Of course, but not in cash. Employees will earn "Store Bucks" they can spend at the School Store. So pick up your application today! H-Calling all 7th and 8th graders---- If you are interested in trying out for the Social Studies or the Maps, Charts and Graphs UIL Academic
teams ---Please listen up!!! We will be holding tryouts today, tomorrow, and Thursday after school from 3:30-4:15 in Room 607. You only need to attend one of the meetings. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Wineinger. M-Who likes prizes?!?! We like prizes!! You like prizes! Guess what? The Cafeteria, is going to be giving away prizes. How do you get a chance to get a prize?? Do something most of us are already doing, EAT A MEAL at school. When you eat a breakfast or lunch meal at one of the tray lines you will receive a ticket. You need to fill it out with your name, grade, and ID number and drop it in the appropriate box. On Friday November 5th we will hold our first drawing for a cool gadget prize. There will be 4 prizes given away. One for breakfast and one for each lunch period. IF you have a negative account balance you will be disqualified from your prize. H-All 8th grade science UIL participants need to be at practice tomorrow before or after school. If you cannot be there please stop by and talk with Mrs. Loyd in room 107. M-Who wants a prize on Friday afternoon? There will be a drawing on Friday afternoon for prizes. One will be drawn from the Breakfast box, A lunch box, B lunch box, C lunch box. Also, something cool and exciting is that breakfast can now be purchased in the courtyard. That means you can eat outside while hangin' with your peeps. H-Now here s Kayla for talent Tuesday.
