A Message from Michael Thompson July 6, 2018 Dear Friends: Welcome to the Taste of Lawrence Festival 2018! For nearly a decade-and-a-half, the Festival has transformed Lawrence Avenue East into Toronto s most vibrant, multicultural on-street event. I founded the Festival along with a handful of local business owners as a way to bring the community together in a celebration of our diversity. Now after 14 years, well over a million people from across Canada and around the world have come to Toronto's most ethnically diverse neighbourhood to sample our exquisite cuisines, watch familyfriendly entertainment, and experience the energy and dynamism of our people, our community and our city. Our 2018 Taste festival features an impressive on-stage array of local performing artists, flanked by a promenade packed with mouth-watering foods, local businesses and a full-scale arcade of games and rides. While you re here, come and say hello to my staff and I at my booth located just steps from the main stage. It s Scarborough s signature summer event with fun for everyone in the family and our community couldn't be prouder to be hosting. July just isn t complete without a day or two at the Taste.
