Hoosier SCCA Super Tour U.S. Majors Tour Great Lakes Race of Champions Ohio Valley Region SCCA June 1-3, 2018 Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course Sanction #18-ST-5427-S SUPPLEMENTAL REGULATIONS This event is governed by the 2018 SCCA General Competition Rules (GCR), Category Specifications, as amended for 2018 per FasTrack & these Supplemental Regulations. FREE ENTRY GIVEAWAY: A free entry will be awarded to one driver registering for the event 14 days prior to the weekend. Driver name will be drawn at the event party. REGISTRATION: Drivers can register for the race online at www.motorsportreg.com. Drivers without internet access may request a paper entry form and mail it with their entry fees to the Chief Registrar: Peggy Dietz, Chief Registrar, 2165 Stony Hill Road, Hinckley, OH. 44233-9508 Phone: 330-460-6706, email: fford18@roadrunner.com Make checks payable to Ohio Valley Region, SCCA, Inc. A fee in the amount of $30 will be charged for any check returned by the bank. A refund will be made if the entry is withdrawn prior to 11:59 PM, May 25, 2018; phoned cancellations must be followed up in writing to receive a refund. No refund for cars that have been on the track any time for that sanction number, "no shows" or because of weather. A $50 fee will be collected for cancellations after May 25, 2018. If you sign in at registration and do not go thru or pass Tech, you must notify the Chief of Registration BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE TRACK in order to receive your refund. Phone/fax entries will not be accepted. Please make every effort to enter this event as early as possible. Each race group will be limited to 65 cars after that number is reached, entrants will be placed on a waiting list for their respective group. The GLDiv racing regions have adopted a uniform policy on cancellation and late fees. These fees (along with other policy changes) are meant to prompt the entrant to register earlier. Cancellation Fee Policy: A cancellation fee will not be assessed if the cancellation notice is made prior to the close of online registration at 11:59 PM on May 25, 2018. Once online registration closes at 11:59 PM on May 25, 2018, there will be a cancellation fee of $50. This is necessary because it requires extra effort on our Registrar and Treasurer s part to process the cancellation so close to the event. Late Fee Policy: There will be a late entry fee of $75 assessed if an entry is received after the close of online registration at 11:59 PM on May 25, 2018. This is necessary because it requires extra effort on our Registrar s part to hand process the entry after online registration is closed. U.S. Majors Tour Express Tech will also be available in the express line for those cardholders that have a valid Annual Tech, 2018 Helmet sticker (purple) and no notations in their logbook. If eligible, you will only need to bring your logbook to Registration to receive your event tech sticker. At-event Registration will be held in the Registration building located on the east track entrance on the left. Do not mail entries by any method that requires a signature upon delivery. ENTRY FEES: Entry fee for the three-day weekend is $595. Each SRF3, FE, FE2 and SM entry will be charged an additional $20.00 compliance fee per entry for the weekend. Late Entry: Add $75.00 to the total amount if postmarked after May 25, 2018. SM + STL Double Entry fee is $930 (both races both days). Must be same car with same driver for this discounted fee. ENTRY FEE PAYMENT: Drivers who complete their registration online, via the motorsportreg.com website will pay by credit card or by check (mailed to the Registrar (Registration is not complete until the entry is paid). Drivers registering at the track or by mail can pay by check, cash, or credit card. PAGE 1

PASSES: Each entry receives four (4) passes, including the driver and entrant. Additional passes may be purchased at Registration for $10 each. Workers, guests, and crew must sign for their own passes and must arrive while Registration is open. Only the entrant, driver, or designee (authorized in writing) may change the crew list. Drivers must present their current hard card competition license when registering. SCCA members must present a valid membership card for admission. Workers are limited to one guest each. Worker license and membership card must be presented at registration. SCCA members, crew and guests who arrive outside of the posted hours of registration will be required to purchase a spectator pass to gain admission. Minor Waivers: Single event waivers may be signed by one parent/legal guardian. Signatures must be witnessed by a licensed SCCA Registrar, or a Steward. Persons other than a parent/legal guardian may NOT sign Minor Waivers. Annual Minor Waivers (white Photo ID card) must be signed by two parents/legal guardians and will cost $5. If the above requirement is not met, the driver is required to contact Tammi Griffith (Mid- Ohio) at tgriffith@midohio.com or 800-643-6446 X-3007 for copies of Mid Ohio s Minor Waiver. The Mid-Ohio waiver must be obtained will in advance & requires a Notary Public s signature. The completed Mid-Ohio waiver and information must be returned to Mid-Ohio 2 weeks prior to the event per the Mid-Ohio policy. 14, 15, 16 and 17-year-old drivers: Minor Drivers, as long as a current minor waiver is on file with the SCCA National Office and the driver s membership card shows Minor Waiver on File, Mid-Ohio does not require any further paperwork. DRIVER ELIGIBILITY: Drivers must be a current member of the SCCA and have a current SCCA Full Competition or SCCA Pro License to participate in this event. If you do not have the proper credentials, it is your responsibility to verify your membership and licenses on line or contact the Registrar prior to the event. Competitors whose licenses are pending must call the registrar by May 25, 2018, so that the license can be confirmed and there will be a $10 charge for this service. In 2018 membership and licenses issues will not be able to be verified with the SCCA National Office after 5:00 PM CST on Friday night. After that time, the National Office will be closed until Monday morning. If your membership and/or license cannot be verified on line, you will be required to complete and sign a Statement of Fact Affidavit along with paying a $100 deposit, of which $75 is Refundable upon verification. CAR ELIGIBILITY: Competition is open to all cars conforming to the GCR, as amended. All cars are required to use a fully operational MyLaps/AMB TranX260 transponder or X2 transponder. The location of the test loop is the Tech Inspection area, and it will be staffed the same hours as the Scales. The driver is responsible for providing correct information to Timing & Scoring. Make sure that your transponder is on for all sessions. DECALS: A U.S. Majors Tour decal and Hoosier Super Tour decal must be displayed on both sides of all competition vehicles. Competition vehicles must also display the official Summit SCCA Road Racing decals per GCR section 9.3.28.C. Stickers will be provided free of charge and may be obtained at Registration and/or Tech. The official SCCA Summit Racing Equipment Road Racing decal does not serve as the Summit Racing Equipment contingency program decal. PREFERRED NUMBERS: Every effort will be made to honor Conference Preferred Numbers until 14 days prior to the event. Due to the make-up of the run groups, however, this may not be possible in all situations. If two drivers holding the same Preferred Number request that number for the same run group, the number will be assigned to the driver with the earliest request. At noon on May 19, 2018, all unused reserved numbers will be released. Confirmation postcard or email will be sent only if you don t get your first choice of number. Correct number must be on car prior to tech. TECH: All drivers without a current year helmet sticker must present all driver gear as required by the GCR, vehicle logbook, and completed tech card to get their event tech sticker. If your car requires an annual tech you must also bring the car to Tech. Tech is located at the rear (South side) of the Maintenance Building. EXPRESS TECH: Drivers with both a current annual tech and a current year helmet sticker may bring just their vehicle log book and completed tech card to get their tech sticker. Express Tech is a special window at Registration, or you can go to Tech at the Maintenance Building. SCALES: Will be available at Tech Friday & Saturday 7:30AM-11:30AM, Sunday 7:30AM-9:00AM. Scales may be made available at other times at the discretion of the Chief of Tech. EVENT SCHEDULE/RUN GROUPS: The event schedule or run groups may only be changed at the discretion of the Series Race Director, with concurrence by the Event Chair, depending on pre-race entry counts or as needed to accommodate situations that may be encountered during the event. If changes are made prior to the PAGE 2

start of the event, as much notice as possible will be given to all affected competitors. The schedule as published is for planning purposes only; actual session start times may deviate from the published schedule based on actual event progression. Listen to the PA system and pay attention to what is happening on track. CANCELLATION: If part of an event is cancelled for reasons of safety or forces beyond our control as provided in GCR Appendix B 1.2.A, points will be awarded based on race grids. DRIVERS MEETING: Impound All will be given at the end of each of the Qualifying sessions on Friday, for all groups, to conduct a Drivers Meeting for each group. Impound will be in the Tech Area. Look for the signs for proper direction. IMPOUND: Saturday Races: The top three competitors in each class shall report to impound immediately following the completion of their race. Trophy presentations and photos will occur at the Victory Circle area located at Tech area following the race. Sunday Races: Impound ALL will be given after the Sunday races. Victory celebrations and award ceremony will occur at the Victory Circle area located at Tech following Sunday s races. Hoosier Super Tour door prizes will be awarded after each group s podium ceremonies; you must be present to win. SPEC MIATA COMPLIANCE: At post-race inspection, Spec Miata participants may be instructed by the designated Class Compliance Chief (CCC) to remove parts, including but not limited to the cylinder head, for disassembly and/or inspection. Competitors are responsible for performing required disassembly and/or reassembly of their car, as well as any resulting expenses incurred. The CCC will report any findings of non-compliance to the Race Director, who will then determine the need for a Chief Steward s Action (CSA) or Request for Action (RFA). VICTORY LAPS: Winners of all races will receive a checkered flag. However, for Sunday races only, following the cool down lap, the winner of each class should proceed immediately to Pit Central where they will receive a checkered flag and proceed on course for a single Victory Lap. Drivers need not wear their helmet or gloves during the victory lap; passengers are permitted in accordance with GCR 6.11.7. Drivers shall maintain a safe speed and be wary of safety vehicles which may be on course. GRID: Starting positions for the Practice session will based on entry time & date. Starting position for the first Qualifying will be based on fastest time from Practice. Starting position for the second Qualifying will be based on fastest time from practice and first Qualifying. Starting positions for the Saturday race will be determined by the fastest time recorded for each car during the preceding qualifying sessions. Starting positions for the Sunday race will be determined by the fastest time recorded for each car during each of the preceding qualifying sessions and their fastest lap during the Saturday race. Cars arriving late to grid, after their group has been dispatched on track may, at the discretion of the Operating Steward, be held at pit out and released at the end of the pack after the field has completed the pace lap. QUALIFYING: Per the 2018 GCR, A driver not qualifying within a maximum of the 115% of the recognized track record of their class must obtain permission from the Race Director in order to race. In the case of unusual circumstances, the Race Director can waive this rule for the entire event. Mid-Ohio Club Course is 2.4 Miles. WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT: The Ohio Valley Region of SCCA, aims to provide and inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants. To that end, behaviors such as the following will be considered egregious examples of GCR 2.1.7, Acting in and unsportsmanlike manner, and will be penalized as such. Discriminating against, disparaging or verbally abusing a participant because of their gender identity, ethnicity, marital status, sexual orientation, religion, age, or disability. Harassing, intimidating, threatening or bullying a participant. Doing any of the above outside the confines of an event in print or electronic media, in a way that affects that person s participation at an event. START, FINISH and TIMES: Schedule Times are cars on course. All Race Starts, Restarts and Checkered Flags will be from the front straight start stand. All race and qualifying timing will begin and end at the timing loop in front of Timing & Scoring. The loop is marked by orange cones on each side of the track and is 115 feet before the Mid-Ohio checker pattern on the track. For practice, qualifying and warm-up, the session clock will start when the first car crosses the pit lane timing line. For all races, timing will start when the front row crosses the front straight timing line after the pace lap. The clock will continue to run during all flag conditions with the exception of a red flag. On the Pace lap, the Pace car will pace the field to the Pit Lane entrance then exit the track surface at the Pit Lane entrance. Be prepared for this to happen. Front row will then pace the field until the green flag is given. RACING SURFACE: The Pit Out Lane (drivers left of the curbing and/or colored line) is not part of the racing surface. Any driver who uses it as a racing surface by putting two or more wheels to the left of the curbing/line, whether in qualifying or the race, may be subject to a penalty from the Series Race Director or Chief Steward. A driver who forces an overtaking car or a car being overtaken into the Pit Out Lane while a pass is being attempted may also be subject to a penalty for violation of GCR 6.11.1.B, failure to provide racing room on the marked racing surface. ON COURSE DRIVER CONDUCT: All on track body contact (including contact during drafting) that causes a car to act erratically and results in a change in position or a car leaving the course will be investigated. If you are involved in contact, you are to report to the designated incident investigation site which is the black flag station at the conclusion of your session/race. Refer to GCR Section 6.11.1 E. PASSES UNDER YELLOW FLAG: All passes under yellow will be investigated. All drivers shall follow GCR Section 6.1.1.B. A violation of this section will result in penalties as outlined in the 2018 Standard Penalty Guidelines. SPLIT STARTS: The Series Race Director will consider requests for split starts. See him at the track. RACE LENGTH: Saturday races will be 25-minute races. Sunday races will be 35 minutes (21 laps max.), whichever comes first. There are a total of 7 Race Groups. The track length for the Club course is 2.4 miles; per GCR 6.4.1.B amended, maximum of 65 cars per group. LAST LAP INDICATOR: Whenever possible, the 1 to Go sign and a waving white flag, will be displayed at Start/Finish to indicate the last lap has begun. The failure to display a last lap indicator is not protestable. When the LAST LAP INDICATOR is given at Start/Finish the next flag will be a checkered flag. BLACK & MEATBALL FLAGS: The Black flag may be displayed at the Starters Stand at Start/Finish and/or turn 11 on the left before the Carousel turn and the Pit entrance. The Black Flag reporting area is in the area of the base of the start/finish stand on pit lane. SCHEDULE: PLEASE NOTE: Scheduled session times are approximate and are for planning purposes only. Actual start times may vary based on forces of nature and on-track incidents. Stewards will not take actions on minor schedule changes RADIO FREQUENCIES: No radios will be permitted which interfere with track communications, 151.625, 151.805, and 154.600. These frequencies may be monitored but shall not be used for communication by any participant. SOUND CONTROL: Sound control will be enforced for this event: The sound meter is located at exit of Turn #2 (the Keyhole) on the left. Participants are encouraged to comply with the sound limit specified in the GCR which is 103 db. Cars exceeding 103 db in a session will be shown the closed black flag and the sound board for their first two readings. If a third reading greater than 103 db is recorded in that session, the car will be black flagged and must report to the pits. DISABLED CARS: Disabled or damaged cars may be removed from the course and delivered next to the false grid. If the car has sustained body/chassis damage, it will be released to the driver/crew after Tech has made appropriate notations in the Vehicle Log Book. Cars disabled due to a mechanical failure will be released to the driver/crew immediately. If the car requires wrecker support to return to its paddock location, there may be a delay depending on the availability of wreckers or flat tows. PACE/SAFETY CAR: In addition to GCR 6.6.2, the field shall follow the PACE/SAFETY car as long as its emergency lights are flashing, even if it varies from the normal race course. In the event of full course yellow results in dispatch of the Safety Car, the Safety Car will enter the racing surface at Pit Out and will be waiting on the field just around the corner from station 1. PIT LANE & CLOTHING: Minimum age in the pits is 18 years. Shirts, long pants, and closed shoes are required in the pits. Crew members on Pit Lane must display their event credentials at all times while on Pit Lane. INSURANCE: Participant insurance will be provided in at least the minimum amounts required by the SCCA. RESULTS: Live timing will be available during the event. Unless otherwise announced, live timing will be available via the Race Monitor App available for IPhone and Android phones. Efforts will be made to broadcast sector times during all sessions. Neither live timing nor sector timing is official or protestable. Qualifying, provisional and final results will be posted at the Tower (Driver Info). Drivers may obtain a copy of the final results from Driver Info after the results are final. Additionally, final results will be posted to the Region s (ovr-scca.org) and SCCA websites no later than 7 days following the completion of the event. AWARDS: Trophies for all races will be awarded in accordance with the GCR. Trophies will be presented at the event. SCCA Majors Points and Hoosier Super Tour points will be awarded in accordance with the GCR and these supplemental regulations. DATA ACQUISITION: Majors staff and their delegates may install data acquisition equipment in a competitor s car. This program is to assist the CRB in performance balancing. If selected, participation is NOT optional and is NOT protestable. The data collected from the device will not be used for compliance purposes. All cars carrying an SCCA data collection device shall report to impound immediately after their session. Anyone operating ANY motorized vehicle on the track property must have a valid driver s license (any state) and present it to any official upon request. Skates, Razors, scooters, & skateboards (with or w/o motor) are banned. Unlicensed motor scooters, motorcycles, ATV's, etc. cannot leave the Paddock except to go to the Grid or Showers. Golf carts do not need a license. DRONES AT THE RACE TRACK: Commercial Unmanned Aircraft System (aka Drone ) owners/operators must have proof of FAA certification and $10M of primary liability insurance naming the SCCA, the Sponsoring Region(s) and the Race Track as additional insured. A general liability insurance policy must specify that it includes the operation of Unmanned Aircraft. Recreational use of unmanned aircraft is prohibited. Fuel spillage on any paved area of the facility is forbidden and may result in a black flag and liability for repairs if instructions from any officials are not obeyed promptly. Jack stand bases must be supported so as to avoid pavement indentations. No unmuffled engines may be operated between 7 PM and 7 AM unless traveling to or from Tech on Thursday evening. Camping will be permitted on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights only. The camping area is limited to the paddock. The infield will be OPEN for spectating. No trash is permitted; everything you carry in must be carried out. (GRANDSTANDS CLOSED).
