2 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS This event is governed by the 2014 General Competition Rules (GCR) and Category Specifications, ass amended for 2014 per FasTrack. REGISTRATION: Drivers can register for the race online at Drivers without internet access may request a paper entry form and mail it with their entry fees to the Chief Registrar: Sydney Davis, 1 Performance Drive, Ste.. 346, Angleton, TX Make checks payablee to Southwest Division SCCA, Inc. A feee in the amount of $25, will be charged for any check returned by the bank. ENTRY FEES: Entry feee for the three day weekend is $575. Each SRF and FE entry willl be charged an additional $20.00 compliance fee per entry for the weekend. REFUNDS: A full refund will be made if the entry is withdrawn prior to receiving a Tech sticker. If youu pre enter and are a no show, your check will be destroyed and any credit card payments will be credited back to your card. If you sign in at registration and do not go thru or pass Tech, you must notify the Chief of Registration, BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE TRACK, in order to receive your full refund. If you do not notify the registrar, you will be charged a $175 processing fee. If your car breaks and you are unable to participate on Sunday, you must notify the Chief of Registration, BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE TRACK, in order to receive a $200 refund. Phone/fax entries will not be accepted. At event Registration will be held in the Registration building located to the right of the main entrance to the raceway. Pleasee do not mail entries by any method that requires a signature upon delivery. ENTRY FEE PAYMENT: Drivers who complete their registration online, via the MotorsportsReg.com website, will be required to enter their payment (check/money order or credit card) at the time of registration. Entry fee payments will be deferred until the end of the event. Credit cards will not be accepted for drivers submitting paper entries, or for entries received at the track.. You can changee the format of payment at the time of registration to check or cash, but we ask that you have correct change if paying with cash. REGISTRATION PROCESS: We will be utilizing several express lines, plus some not so expresa current annual tech and a current year helmet sticker. Pleasee bring your lines. Please be make sure you qualify for the line you are going to. We d hate for you to stand in the wrong line. EXPRESS: For drivers who have their SCCA license in their hand, license, logbook and helmet with you. If you are missing any one of these threee items, you cannot complete express registration and tech. Please have your crew members use the crew lines. REGISTRATION: For drivers who have the following issues: o I don t have my SCCA license with me. o I need an annual tech on my car. o I need my gear checked. o I have issues with my logbook. These drivers will go through the Registration line to get their event wristband and tech card, and then either go to the Tech line for gear check and event stickers, or make their way to Tech for annuals and logbook issues. WORKER: This line is for workers supporting the event. You will check in, get your specialty packet (if applicable) and your worker bag. CREW ONLY: This line is for crew members who are members of the SCCA. If you are wishing too get a temporary SCCA membership to enter a hot area, you must come to this line. The cost for a temporary SCCA membership is $15, and we cannot take credit cards at the track. Thank you for your help to make registration and tech go as smoothly as possible!! TECH: All drivers who do not receive their event sticker at registration (from either the express window or the tech window) will need to bring their tech card, vehicle and logbook to Tech, unless otherwise directed by a Tech Official. Tech will be located at the pit lane awnings. SCALES: Available at Tech Friday 10:00 am 4:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am 10:00 AM. Scales may be available for other participants during race impound, but priority willl be given to impounded cars. Scales may be made available at other times at the discretion of the Chief of Tech. DRIVER ELIGIBILITY: Drivers must be a current member of the SCCA and have a current SCCA Regional, National, or Full Competition license or SCCA Pro license to participate in this event. If you do not have the proper credentials it is your responsibility to contact the Registrar prior to the event. CAR ELIGIBILITY: Competition is open to all cars conforming to the GCR, as amended. All cars are required to use fully operational AMB transponders, and the driver is responsible for providing correct information to Timing & Scoring. All cars are required to have US Majors Tour & BFF Goodrich Super Tour stickers visibly placed on each side of the vehicle. Stickers will be provided freee of charge in your registration packet. COMPETITION NUMBERS: For entries received by the registrar through noon on January 16, 2014, Majors Series numbers that were reserved via the Majors Series Registration prior to the opening of online registration for this event will receive priority assignment. Secondary preference will be given to 2014 Southwest Division Permanent Number holders. Due to the combination of classess within the run groups this may not be possiblee in all cases. At noon on January 16, 2014, all unused reserved numbers will be released on a first come, first served basis.
3 DRIVERS MEETING: A written drivers meeting will be provided at registration. A live drivers meetingg will be held at the podium by Tech on Friday at the start of lunch, approximately noon. Attendance is mandatory. EVENT SCHEDULE/RUN GROUPS: The event schedulee or run groups may only be changed at the discretion of the Series Chief Steward, with concurrence by the Event Chair, depending on pre race entry counts or as needed too accommodate situations that may be encountered during thee event. If changes are made prior to the start of the event, as much notice as possiblee will be given too all affected competitors. The schedule as published is for planning purposes only. Actual session start times may deviate from the published schedule based on actual event progression. Listen to the PA system and pay attention to what is happening on track. IMPOUND: For Saturday Sprint races the top three competitors in each class shall report to impoundd immediately following the completion of their cool off lap. For Sunday Feature Races the top three competitors in each class shall report to impound immediately following completion of their cool off or victory lap while all other competitors are strongly encouraged to attend the podium festivities following their race. After any session additional cars may be directed to report to Impound at the discretion of the Series Chief Steward. Victory celebrations and awards ceremony will be conducted in the impound area following the Sunday races. Door prizes may be awarded at the conclusion of each group s podium ceremonies, and you must be present to win. VICTORY LAPS: Winners of all races will receive a checkered flag and may be directedd on course for a single Victory Lap. Drivers do not need to wear their helmet or gloves during the victory lap and passengers are permitted in accordance with GCR Drivers shall maintain a safe speed and be wary of safety vehicles which may be on course. GRID: Starting positions for the Saturday race will be determined by the fastest timee recorded for each car during any of the preceding qualifying sessions. Starting positions for the Sunday race will be determined by the fastest time recorded for each car during the preceding qualifying sessions OR the Saturday race, whichever is faster. Cars arriving at the grid after their group has been dispatched on track may, at the discretion of the Operating Steward, be held at pit out and released at the end of the pack after the field has completed the pace lap. QUALIFYING: Becausee this is the inaugural event, no SCCA lap records have been established. Therefore instead of going off lap records, all Majors participants must qualify within 115% of the pole position in his/her class in order too be allowed to start the race. The Series Chief Steward may waive this requirement and may allow non qualifiers to grid behind qualifiers. START/FINISH: The race will begin and end at the stripe in front of Timing and Scoring. SPLIT STARTS: The Chief Steward will consider requests for split starts received by noon, January 31,, TIMED SESSIONS: The clock will continue to run during all flag conditions with the exception of the red flag. RACE LENGTH: Saturday races will be 30 minute timed races. Sunday races will be 177 laps or 40 minutes, whichever occurs first. RADIO FREQUENCIES: The Southwestt Division operates on frequencies and These frequencies may be monitored but shall not bee used for communication by any participant. SOUND CONTROL: A maximum limit of 103 db is in effect for this event. There shall be no racecar engine activity between 10 PM and 6 AM. For your information, sound readings willl be posted at the base of the T& &S tower. DISABLED CARS: Disabled or damaged cars may be removed from the course and delivered to a central location. If the car has sustained body/ /chassis damage it will be released to the driver/ /crew after tech has made appropriate notations in the vehiclee log book. Cars disabled due to a mechanical failure will be released to the driver/crew immediately. If the car requires wrecker support to return to its paddock location, there may be a delay depending on the availability of wreckers or flat tows. CLOTHING: Closed toed shoes are required over the wall on pit lane. Crew memberss on pit lane must display their event credentials at all times while on pit lane. PIT LANE: Pit lane speed shall not exceed 40 mph. Violators may be penalized. PACE/ /SAFETY CAR: In addition to GCR , the field shall follow the PACE/SAFETY car as long as itss emergency lights are flashing, even if it varies from the normal race course. In the event a full course yellow resultss in dispatch of the safety car, the safety car will enter the racing surface at pit out.
4 INSURANCE: Participant insurance will be provided in at least the minimum amountss required by the SCCA. RESULTS: Live timing will be available during the event. Unless otherwise announced, live timing will be available via the Race Monitor App available for iphone and Android phones. Qualifying, provisional and final results will be posted at the base of the Timing and Scoring Tower. Drivers may obtain a copy of the finall results from or no later than 7 days following the completion of the event. AWARDS: Trophies for all races will be awarded in accordance with the GCR. Trophies will be presented at the event, with personalized plates mailed post event. Majors points will be awarded for all races in accordance with thee GCR. DATA ACQUISITION: Majors staff and their delegates may install data acquisition equipment in a competitor s car. This program is to assist the CRBB in performance balancing. If selected,, participation is not optional and is not protestable. The data collected will not be used for compliance purposes. LAST LAP INDICATOR: When possible, a 1 to Go sign will be displayed at start/finish to indicate thee last lap has begun. SOCIAL EVENT: Theree will be a worker/competitor party at the conclusion of activities on Friday at the Clubhouse. Just follow the beer. PADDOCK: Parking regulations are hereby incorporated in these regulations by reference. Parking will only be done at the following times: Wednesday, February 5: 3 PM to 6 PM Thursday, February 6: 7 AM to 9 PM Friday, February 7: 7 AM to 6 PM Failure to follow the direction of the Paddock Marshal or her/his designate regardingg paddock parking or activities may result in expulsion from thee facilities and loss of entry fee. A limited number of reserved paddock spaces can be purchased through NOLA Motorports Park: Reserved Spaces for trailers and RVs with electrical and water hookups: $40 Reserved Spaces for trailers and RVs without hookups: $30 Do not leave tires, body work or batteries in the paddock. CAMPING: Camping is allowed in the paddock on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for $5 per night per person, but there is no additional charge if you are paying for a reserved space (listed above). FUEL: The following fuels will be sold at credit card pumps on site: 87 Octane Unleaded (up to 10% ethanol) 93 Octane Unleaded (up to 10% ethanol) 98 Octane Unleaded (Sunoco 260 GTX) Outside fuel is allowed in 5 gal containers only, no drums. 104 Octanee Unleaded (Sunoco 260 GT Plus Oxygenated) 112 Octanee Leaded (Sunoco Supreme) Diesel TIRES: The following tire manufacturers will be present during the event. Please use the provided contact informationn to pre order any tires. BF Goodrich will have their trailer on site. Goodyear & Hoosier: SportsCar Performance has requested all drivers pre order their tires at least 2 3 weeks in advance. Please contact Mike Sauce at or to place your order or to ask additional questions. COURSE: NOLA Motorsports Park is a 2.75 mile course. GATE FEE: NOLA Motorsports Park has a gate fee of $5 for anyone who is not a card, carrying memberr of the SCCA. You must present a valid membership card for free admission. Drivers and workers are limited to one guest each, but must pickk up their pass at Registration prior to guest s entry. NOLA GENERAL RULES: ATV's, bicycles, motor scooters/cycles are permitted in the paddock provided they are used in a safe manner and operated ONLY by licensed drivers. Skateboards,, skates, rollerblades, micro/mini racers and go peds in immediatee ejection from the premises. This penalty will be enacted for all a are NOT permitted. Absolutely NO bedding new brakes or testing of cars on infield roadways will be permitted. Violations will result offenses, with zero tolerance. The raceway gates will not be opened for parking until 5:00 PM Wednesday. You must leave the facility no later than three hours after the last checker falls on Sunday, unless you have made prior arrangements with NOLA Motorsports Park officials.
