WHAT IS SELECT SOCCER? Select soccer offers a place for players that are ready for more advanced development and competition based on their current skill level, knowledge and understanding of the game, aptitude, drive, and passion for soccer In addition to advanced skill level, it requires a deeper commitment of time and money than recreational soccer It needs to be a commitment that is discussed between parents and children and an active commitment made by all parties Commitment to a team is for a full calendar year, unlike recreational soccer which is one season at a time Minimum age for competitive soccer is 10 years old (U11/2008 Birth Year), regardless of whether your child played U10 this year

CHOOSING THE RIGHT CLUB What is the philosophy behind the club? What are the goals & directions for the specific team you are looking at? Does the club have control over its practice facilities? Will they be accessible weekly and in the off season? Is the club non-profit? How much are they charging and what does it specifically include (and EXCLUDE)? Does the club have a strong board backing it? Are they members of North Texas State Soccer Association? How much coaching turnover do they have for a team that stays together?

CHOOSING THE RIGHT CLUB Professionalism How is their presentation, punctuality, appearance, conduct, discipline? Experience How much experience and training do they have coaching? What licenses? Enjoyment Does the coach enjoy coaching or is it a job? Communication Are they consistent, frequent and responsive? Employment status - Full time or part time coach? Paid or unpaid? Extra skills Do they offer extra GK skills, coaches & team education

SELECT SOCCER WITH COPPELL FC Coppell FC Philosophy: CYSA is a non-profit soccer organization that formed its competitive soccer program in order to provide a more affordable alternative for players in Coppell and neighboring cities to compete in select soccer and receive excellent training, experience, and competition in a fun but challenging environment right here in Coppell. Our program includes: A focus on individual player development and improving their ability to play within a team framework Development under the framework of good sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for coaches and referees Skilled and experienced professional coaches Access to beautiful city of Coppell practice fields Very affordable club fees & uniform costs

SELECT SOCCER WITH COPPELL FC A total of 7 Coppell FC teams in 2017-2018 (official NTX recognized club) CYSA is looking to grow its program by adding new teams where there is interest and talent We will be forming at least 3 new 08 teams, 2 boys and 1 girls Open practices to form competitive teams for girls and boys birth years 08 02 (U11 to U16) will begin at the end of May and run through June 30th Competitive teams are a part of the NTSSA and the USYSA and follow their specific rules and regulations

SELECT SOCCER WITH COPPELL FC Coppell FC teams will be coached by: Challenger Sports coaches with a minimum of an FA Level 2 (equivalent to USSF C License) CYSA independent coaches, with a minimum USSF E License Our coaching philosophy includes: Providing a safe, fun & challenging learning environment for all players Developing a strong team culture for players to live by A desire to improve every player both on and off the soccer field Demonstrating various coaching styles to meet the needs of the team and individuals A commitment to long term player development through technical, tactical, physical, social and psychological learning

COPPELL FC - FINANCIAL COMMITMENT Coppell FC Fees Include: Coppell FC Fees Exclude: Team fees Two team practices per week with professional coach Coaching fees League and referee fees, League qualifier fees Home Association, City and admin fees Two tournaments annually - team can elect to enter more & pay the extra) Additional clinics and events at the discretion of the coach Team Training Camp in July/August Rental of indoor facilities as determined by the coach for practices cancelled due to weather Uniforms, any additional tournaments, travel costs, any individual team expenses, and any other miscellaneous items. Optional Winter Indoor/Futsal League will also be offered, cost will be divided amongst interested players. Annual Fee: $1,525

COPPELL FC SIGNING A CONTRACT Signing a contract with Coppell FC is a commitment for players to: Play only for Coppell FC from July 1 to June 30 (playing rec or with another club is not permitted by NTSSA) Train and play to the best of your ability Demonstrate the highest level of sportsmanship Attend all practices and games to the best of your ability Refrain from using profane language Not use controlled substances or alcohol Show respect to the officials Playing for Coppell FC is a commitment and we expect the commitment be taken seriously. The coaches have the highest level of commitment to the players, and we expect the same level of commitment in return from the players (and parents).

LIFE AFTER U10 OTHER OPTIONS Will my child be able to just play recreational soccer in CYSA once they turn 10 years old? YES!! While many players branch out to other opportunities or simply elect to focus on school activities, CYSA has teams in most age groups for both boys and girls Starting at U11, boys and girls teams play in intercity leagues, representing Coppell against other cities in our area Our U11 and up teams play in the GLASA intercity league or Northern Mid Cities NMCSL For the Fall, U11 and U12 boys and girls will play 9v9, while U13 and up will play the full 11v11 Players have the excitement of traveling to other cities to play, and the pride of representing their home city
