2 is a word with many meanings and interpretations, but there is no denying that everyone has style. We have a style in the way we dress, how we walk, the way we talk, in our basketball shot and in our essay writing. To the staff of the Fremont High School Black and Gold Yearbook, style means what makes you who you are. And if you ask anyone around the halls of FHS, Fremont has style. We are traditional -- but with a modern twist. We're a small town--but with a big city flavor. We spend a lot of time on extracurricular activities, but we keep our test scores up. You might think that "style" is a feminine word. But do you think Channing Tatum or Daniel Beckham would deny that they're stylish? No way. Style is knowing who you are, what makes you look good, way of saying and not being afraid to be yourself. The 2013-2014 school year proves that Fremont Tigers are not afraid. complicated At Fremont High School, we aren't scared to look silly or to strut our stuff. We do what we feel like because we feel like it. t h i n g s. Not only do we show our style through our clothes (in cowboy boots, Nikes, headbands, sock buns, leggings, Miss Me jeans, and so on) we also have a good attitude. Our students are some of the most respectful, spirited and funny in Nebraska. -Jean Cocteau We know what we're good at: cross country, drama, raising our test scores, the list goes on and on. Our journalism department won top state awards for last year's yearbook and newspaper for the first time since the 70s. From colorful suit-jackets to patterned leggings, from 18 4.0 GPAs to 15 30-plus ACT scores in the senior class; Fremont is filled with stylish students. No matter who you are or what you love, if you go to FHS you know style will be very evident. 4 t's the first day of school. It's Picture Day. It's Start Off a Great School Year Day. It's See All Your Friends Again Day. It's Make a Good Impression Day. We get up earlier than we know we will for the rest of the year. The guys have to have their hair combed just right and make sure their collars are going to look good on the pages of the yearbook. The girls make sure the ends of their hair are perfectly straight and check to see if their new shirts are going to make the cut. Everything we put on screams our name: what we like to do, what organizations we belong to, and how much attitude we have today. At Fremont High, how good we look in our graduation gowns, flag team, football, softball uniforms matters. Senior Courtney Gendreau said, "My style is an expression of myself. I'm comfortable with myself so I wear clothes I'm comfortable in." We look good on the court, in the classroom, and out in the community. We even look good worldwide: last year Hadley Oberg (class of 2014) studied abroad in Turkey. From a worn-out pair of Vans or cowboy boots for school hallways to a brand new shirt from Rue 21 or Buckle to the perfect luggage for travel overseas: if the clothes make the man, FHS represents itself perfectly through its students' fashions. We can't stop our great personalities, and we won't stop our fantastic styles.
