Precision Auxiliary Corp - Athletic Performing Arts Program Wesley International Academy This Athletic Performing Arts program is designed for young female student-athletes between the ages of 5 & 25. These young ladies form competitive performance teams which will perform and compete locally and nationally in the areas of baton twirling, dance/cheer and flag/rifle/sabre twirling. Instructional Classes and practices will be once a week for an hour at each location. Weekly, there will be a variety of skills and techniques students will learn and will be expected to go home and practice. There will also be study material for students to learn, which will consist of literature pertaining to the art form and sports of baton twirling, dance/cheer & flag/rifle/sabre twirling. IT is our mission to provide the best athletic and scholastic opportunities to develop young girls into successful young women through the performing arts and sports of baton twirling, dance/cheer and flag/rifle/sabre twirling.
Precision Auxiliary Corp Performance Teams The P.A.C. Performance Teams consist of a fusion of baton twirling, dance, cheerleading, flag/rifle/sabre twirling and tumbling. Teams perform a wide range of competitive baton twirling techniques, winter/color guard techniques, cheerleading stunts, tumbling along with modern dance, jazz, ballet, liturgical, and hip hop choreography. Precision Auxiliary Corp Performance Teams perform during NCAA, NFL & NBA pre-games & half-time shows; major local, state, national & international parades & events. PAC Performance Teams also compete in local, state, national & international competitions. In addition to agreeing to the P.A.C. Performance and Appearance Standards, Here's a sampling of the classes offered: Flag classes: tall flag, swing flag, rifles, sabers, dance, tumbling and body movement to work with equipment Advanced understanding of basic drop spin and Peggy spin Advanced understanding of body movement while spinning Ability to perform in time while marching 45 degree tosses Horizontal tosses Vertical Tosses Double toss Dance/Cheer/Tumbling classes: Jazz, ballet, modern, hip-hop, lyrical, liturgical Tumbling, stunt, pom-pom technique and position classes Double turns Axels High Kicks Splits Front and side leaps Straddle Split L-stand Double Thigh Stand Walk up shoulder stand Pop back shoulder stand Post up shoulder stand Low hitch Low L hitch Elevator Chin Chin All-girl Diamond Head (modified) Double base single arm extension Baton classes: One, two, three, four baton, novelties, tumbling classes, strut and solo Toss Walk-over One-Spin Illusion Toss Illusion (forward and reverse on the right leg) 3 Spins (Horizontal & Vertical) 2 Baton Combinations 3 Baton Combinations Tour jetes Laybacks Advanced understanding of bodywork and dance combinations Grandjetes on both legs All competitive courses are offered at the beginning, intermediate and advance level for ages 5-25.
PRACTICES/ATTENDANCE *All students are required to turn in all schedule conflict issues as soon as they are aware of the conflict. If you know your child has an upcoming event conflicting with practice or performances, please put this in writing and hand deliver it to instructor or coach. *All practices are MANDATORY. Twirlers must be there 10 minutes prior to the start of practice. Dressed and ready to dance. Each Twirler has a 10 minute grace period. After being late three times, it will be counted as an unexcused absence. After three unexcused absences, the twirler will be placed on probation or may lose his/her position. If the dancer continues to be tardy or absent this will be grounds for dismissal from the dance program. *During practices, no parent is allowed on the gym or dance floor. Please allow the teachers to do there job. Absolutely no food or gum at all. Only plastic bottles of Gatorade/PowerAde and water will be allowed on the practice floor. *Additional practices will be added to the schedule for any performances. PRACTICE PERFORMANCE ATTIRE (Required at all practices) Black leotard/black tights/black dance shoes/black jazz pants/ black jazz shoes. No designs or patterns of any kind for leotards. Solid black only. No Ballet Skirts. No jewelry of any kind, fingernails or body jewelry during practice or competitions. Any nail polish worn should be clear in color. Hair must be out of your face and off your neck during practices and performances unless instructed differently.
