However, as teachers we believe that we have had some influence in shaping the young people of the future. This comes into sharpest focus when, at this time each year, our Year 12 students graduate from the College. Our Farewell Assembly was a wonderful occasion on Tuesday. How these students leave the College has a considerable impact on the culture of the place. I know that the rest of the staff, were with me, incredibly proud of these young men and women. I would like to congratulate, in particular, all the Major Award winners and their families on their success. They are listed in this Newsletter. I leave you with our blessing to all our Year 12 students at the end of the Assembly. May God s joy be in your hearts And God s love surround your living Each day and night and wherever you roam, May you know God s presence. In growing and learning, In joy and sorrow, In friendship and, in solitude, in beginnings and endings May God bless you and keep you. May God s face shine on you.. May God be kind to you. And Give you peace. College Award Joshua Maltese Kevin Jones

Ashley Falzon Graduates from Her TVET Nursing Course at Auburn Hospital On the 5 th September, I was privileged to attend the Graduation Ceremony of our Parramatta Diocese students who have completed a Certificate III in Human Services Assistants (Nursing) at Auburn Hospital. Ashley Falzon, Year 12 student, has studied this course for the last 2 years as part of her HSC study pattern. This course has provided her with extensive experience working in a hospital in various wards and specialist medical situations such as the Critical Care ward and spending a day with the operators of the Care Flight Helicopter. Wow! What an experience! She now has the opportunity to apply early entrance into Notre Dame University in Nursing as a result of her success. A great achievement, Ashley! We are equally thrilled to share the news that two Year 10 students have been accepted into this program at Nepean Hospital, commencing in 2016. Congratulations to Ryan Walbank and Elise McMurtrie were 2 of 25 students selected from a pool in excess of 100 students who applied. We wish them every success in this course and look forward to sharing their experiences along the way. Kim Grinham Leader of Learning, VET

Outreach BPC Throughout Week 7 of this term we held our second annual Outreach Week at Bede Polding College. The aim of this week is to highlight our Outreach groups ISV, Community Care, Soup Kitchen, St Vinnies and the Eco group. We hope to raise awareness of those in need both in our local community and globally and show our students what they can do to help. Students participated in a range of activities throughout the week and generously contributed by donating much needed items to local community group, Hawkesbury s Helping Hands. We donated over 150 bottles of shampoo and conditioner, more than 100 cans of deodorant and over 300 pairs of socks, along with long-life milk, razors and shaving cream. We would like to thank those students who gave up their time to help coordinate and run Outreach Week, along with all those who so generously donated items for Hawkesbury s Helping Hands. We look forward to having this same support again in 2016. Ms Lupton & Mrs Cutajar
