Dear Members Inside this issue: Intro ODE Results Presentation Evening 2 3 Training SJ 4 Training Dressage & XC Dates for Winter 16/17 Keep checking the facebook page and 5 website for updates and don t forget to send in your results too. 6 What a fantastic end to the summer with six of our members competing at the Pony Club National Championships at Cholmondeley Castle. Olivia Mawditt and Cwmduad Peter Pan: 11th Intermediate Dressage. Stephanie Sacks and Kingsland Prince of Tides: 10th Open Dressage Intermediate Event Team 7th: Hollie Jepson, Ballykillen Lass; James Black, Capadust (also finished individual 7th), Ella Marshall, Prince Aladdin and Florence White, Nono Burghley Team Show Jumping followed with Ella Marshall, Florrie White, Hollie Jepson and Amelia Cox, all riding well over a technical and challenging course. Show Jumping Teams have also been out at Osberton Horse Trials with our 70cm team, Eve Munro, Tristan Page, Ted Turner and Oscar Blythe achieving a great 4th place in the relay; 1m team, Florrie White, Angus Williams, Ella Marshall and Amelia Cox came 3rd in the show jumping and 2nd in the relay. At the Fitzwilliam our 60cm team, Dominic White, Cordelia White, Tristan Page and Oscar Blyth finished a fantastic 6th out of 18 teams. Both the 80cm team, Lucy Robertson, Ben Finney, Rosie Finney, Emily White and our 90cm team, Angus Williams, Florrie White and Naomi Ashcroft rode some good rounds but just missed out the places. Well done to everyone taking part and representing in teams and competitions. As always we are very proud not only of the achievements but also how well our riders and their horses/ponies are turned out superb ambassadors for our branch. It hardly seems possible for winter to be upon us already with the nights drawing in and making riding more difficult. But before we know it 2017 will be upon us. Now is the time to plan ahead for the coming season. There is a variety of training on offer across the disciplines the showjumping sessions with Kath Kay continue to be popular and will continue fortnightly, alternating at Elms Farm Equestrian and Birchdale Livery; dressage training for all will be held at Brills Farm with Julie Corrigan; in the evenings at Equestrian there will be alternate dressage and show jumping sessions Kirsty Hardstaff will be taking the show jumping and Laura Woodcock, a young rider competing at Grand Prix level, the dressage. The costs are kept as low as possible with much of the training subsidised. So get the most out of your membership by supporting the training. Please make sure you book in and pay early. Also over the winter, don t forget the Santa Ride, Horse & Pony Care sessions, Combined Training League and Event Training in February. Anthea
